Didn't work as described, can no longer return

Owned for 1 month when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this as a Christmas gift for my parents so they could finally have a smart phone--the description clearly stated it would work on Verizon network. I ordered a little bit before Christmas and by the time they attempted to activate the phone, the return window had passed, and Verizon says the phone isn't compatible with their network. Best Buy is usually the greatest but forcing people to go to a new cell phone carrier or waste a decent chunk of change on a useless phone is pretty shady.

Useless without a cellular plan!

Unfortunately, I was told that this model could no longer be added to cellular plans. That makes the phone pretty useless as a cellular phone. I paid the restocking fee and spent much more on a newer phone that we didn’t need - one that could be used as a cellular phone. What a waste of time, money, and effort!
