The Apple Smart Case provides decent protection for the Apple iPad. I've never dropped my iPad so not sure how protective it would be in that instance. The case does allow you to stand up the iPad so your hands can be free. This is the 2nd Smart Case that I purchased. The first one lasted about 2 years before it started to fall apart.

I bought this for my daughters 3 year old IPad 2, the case fits a hair lose since it will also fit the original IPad that is thicker. but over all the case protects and provides the ability to stand up and let her watch movies and such on it. over all i give it a B+. it is not a perfect form fit but it gets the job done well enough.

A great improvement from the version with no back support. This one is perfect for me. It serves the purpose of protecting my ipad, offering unparalleled flexibility and ease of use. Its slim design is like next to skin for my ultimate anytime companion - my ipad! I have used this cover for a month or so now and i have yet to find what i dont like about it!

This is my second smart cover - the first one finally tore at the top hinge after several years of use. I like the cover much better than having a case because the iPad is much slimmer (less bulky) that way. I wish the cover weren't quite as expensive as it is, but it's worth it even at the full price.

This is a cover and not a case. Therefore, if your looking for a case to protect the aluminum back, then this is not for you. It has a microfiber layer on the inside so when you close it, it protects the screen. It folds into a stand at an angle for a more comfortable typing position. Overall recommended if you want a screen protecting cover.

Light weight but protects the ipad. Not bulky. Great case

I love this cover! It's lightweight and doesn't add extra bulk but protects the screen. I also folds into a stand. It goes on and off easily if you have other cases or covers that you like to switch out too. A must have!

As I've mentioned in other reviews, the cases for an iPad or tablet, are not meant to be very protective (aside from keeping dust, dirt, and scratches off the machine), but this case does exactly what it's intended to do. It covers the iPad, fits nicely, and provides a nice stand when the user wishes to tilt the display.

i thought this would be like my old Apple case, with the magnet and just a front cover. But when it arrived, I realized it is a full case front and back, so provides even better protection. Very sleek. Not at all bulky. A little pricey compared to other cases, but worth it if you want to treat yourself.

Just what I needed for a thin, light cover for my ipad. The last cover I had was very thick, making holding the ipad cumbersome. The Apple smart case makes holding the ipad very easy for reading and browsing and the automatic shut off and start up is very convenient when shutting or opening the cover.

We have tried quit a few different iPad covers and this is by far the best one we have found!! Not only does it help by turning your iPad on and off when you open and close the top, it also folds up to stand your iPad as well as protects it from front to back from all drops and falls!!

This is my 2nd case. After 3 years of daily use and extensive travelling the 1st was worn out. A perfect case that provides excellent protection, adds limited weight and is functional (switches off screen on closing). Really, all you need from a case unless you want to have a keyboard.

I no longer needed the otter box I had for my older iPad since my granddaughter is no longer a threat to it. This new cover is lmuxh lighter and very easy to use. I like that there are 2 positions to adjust the iPad for viewing purposes.

First one lasted about 18 months with my husband using his ipad constantly when he is fixing the cars or boat outside. Cover started to fall apart but the ipad which costs much more is like new. Worked so well this was our second cover.

I bought this cover for my sons Ipad. I love this cover, for it's sleek design and protects the front of my screen so it will not scratch. My son is pretty active with his electronics and I feel that this cover will protect the screen for a long time to come. I love it!

Not only is the gray elegant and visually pleasing, it's very Apple. I'm able to use the cover to protect my iPad, carry it, and use it in a couple different configurations. I'm very pleased with my purchase. The look, the feel,and the utility makes it a win, win, win!

I just love this Smartcase for my 2nd Generation iPad! It is light, but gives very good protection. I love how I can spin my iPad around and stand it up either vertically or horizontally with this cover. Definitely a good investment!

I like how light weight this case is, while at the same time it's very sturdy. It's not bulky either, so it doesn't take a lot of space in my briefcase. The material seems to be of good quality too.

This is the only case you should buy for iPads. Bought one for my dad, wife and myself. Clean, slim and perfect fit. Also easy to clean. I've dropped my iPad mini several times and not a single issue with the iPad or the case.
