It covers the front (screen) and the back of the iPad, and has openings for the camera and other functions.

Honestly, it’s a bit pricey but if you’re looking for something that’s easy to stand upright by itself and keep your iPad clean from dust and debris this is a good choice! You could get cheaper options, but I find this nice because all Apple products have a 2 year warranty.
