MUST Have with the iPad Pro 11"

I have been waiting to upgrade my iPad for years now and one of my favorite parts of my old iPad was my bluetooth keyboard. After picking up the iPad Pro 11" and connecting this Smart Keyboard to it, I will never want it any other way! PROS: - It has a great design! There is enough weight to it that allows for it to feel protective but not overbearing. The leather like feel to it makes the iPad feel even more high end. - Its so thin - I really was impressed how Apple pulled this off. I attached a picture to show how thin the iPad looks connected to the keyboard. - You can use it in your lap! The part of the keyboard with the keys on it is all one piece and does not fold. This makes it more firm and able to easy use it on your lap. - Typing it feels really smooth. Even though the keys aren't as tall on a laptop, it still provides enough ease to write emails or documents on. CONS (Hard to find any): - No backlight keyboard and not as much typing feedback as a classic keyboard. But this is necessary to not have a battery in it and drain less battery from the iPad. - It's pricey for a keyboard accessory but par for course compared similar keyboards. BOTTOM LINE: If you are picking up this iPad, this is a must buy. You will love how this fits into your every day life so well and helps turn this iPad into the compact laptop you've wanted.

Honestly this was not my first choice due to the price tag. I was using Mini Microsoft Bluetooth bifold keyboard which works great but it’s an extra thing to worry and Apple Smart Folio (which in my experience had been unstable) I’m Very happy and Satisfied with Apple Smart Keyboard, I also added pencil 2 and black Apple mouse. If I may also recommend, to get “Paper Like”. It’s awesome!

This keyboard seems to now (almost a year post purchase) be experiencing something that I find is a very frustrating issue with many Apple products these days... That being, it worked very well...at first, but only 11 or so months later I'm constantly getting an error message on screen stating that “This accessory is not supported by this device.” There are a number of reasons I've researched online that this could be occurring, and I've actually had this issue occur with the lightning cable for my iphone 7 as well. I suppose I've grown to accept that these types of issues will happen after some time due to software updates or the need for firmware updates with the hardware itself, but not less than a year after purchase.

Very nice until you actually use it for a month or so. This is with average use,I have an iphone that I use the majority of the time. It becomes flimsy and the iPad falls out easier and easier as time goes by. Worst of all, regardless of how clean your hands are I noticed around a month old there were little spots on the outside of the back of the case. After more time went by it looks like someone dipped their hands in oil and put them on it!It doesn’t come off and now it’s tearing in the same spots!

There are lots of options for wireless keyboards for the iPad, and most of them are considerably cheaper. But there are some things to consider. This keyboard offers a few features that others don't. + No need to pair. You don't need bluetooth or anything. It uses the smart connector so you just pop it on and go. It's just as reliable as a wired keyboard, except there are no wires so it's awesome. + No dead batteries. Since it uses the smart connector instead of a bluetooth connection, you also never have to worry about keeping it charged. Sure, some bluetooth keyboards boast months of life on a single charge, but this is even better because you NEVER have to charge it. + Sealed keys. Apple doesn't claim water resistance or anything, but if you look at the keys you will notice that they are completely covered and surrounded by whatever material they use on top. This means you don't get gunk under the keys, so it's more reliable and much easier to clean. + It's much thinner than the competition. This is partially because they don't have to cram a battery into it. The downside to this is there isn't any protection for the corners. But, portability is the whole point of getting a tablet. It's an iPad, not a Panasonic Toughbook. Just don't drop your iPad. + You can fold the keyboard back around to the back of the iPad and none of the keys will work. This means you don't need to turn it off or anything when you don't need it. You can just leave it there and you're not going to accidentally hit keys and start typing random stuff. --------------------------------------------------------- Now for what I don't like: - It doesn't sit super securely. There have been several times where I accidentally popped the back off because there isn't anything holding it in place other than a magnet, and that magnet isn't very strong. It's good enough in most instances, but often when I'm laying in bed and I go to adjust the angle, I lift up and the back pops off from putting just a tad bit too much pressure on it. - The keys are a little small. This isn't too hard to adjust to, but it would have been better if they filled in the gaps more. --------------------------------------------------------- Neutral point: = Some people complain about the keys feel when you type, but I think they're fine. If you're used to full-size keyboards with lots of travel, it will take a little while to get used to. But if you are used to the MacBook keyboards, it's an easy transition. I think if they would have made the keys wider, I would actually like it more than the keyboard on my MacBook Pro just because it's a tiny bit softer. --------------------------------------------------------- I only give it 4/5 for Quality because the magnet is a little weak which causes the back to pop off if you're a little rough with it. And I don't mean dropping it. I mean if you bump it with your hand you could knock it off. I gave it a 4/5 for value just because it's so expensive. It's a great case over all, and it offer something the others don't, but it's also $50 more than the Logitech case, and Logitech is a well-known brand. I gave it 5/5 for ease of use. This is as simple as it gets. Just pop it on and go. No pairing needed. No charging needed. And over all I give it 5/5 stars because even though it's expensive, I feel like there are enough positives that it's worth paying the extra money for.

This is the worse apple product I have ever owned. It just looks and feels so cheap. What makes it a Smart Keyboard?? I don’t think it’s worth $179 and I will return it soon. The keyboard is not even real keys. It’s just a plastic thingy with raised letters. I put the blame on Apple for making this and Best Buy for promoting it to be used with my new iPad Pro.

This keyboard is an excellent addition to my iPad Pro 11"! If I had known how much more I could get done by pairing my iPad with with this, I would have done it much sooner. I was surprised at how pleasant the typing experience is on this little flat thing, and the more I use it the more I enjoy typing on it. It's a bit spendy, but the perfect fit, back and front protection, great typing, and the fact it's powered by the iPad makes this a great productivity tool. About my purchase experience with Best Buy: I bought this as an open box item in "excellent" condition to save $20, as I've had good experience with open box in excellent condition in the past (shipped to my home). When the item arrived, the original box was beat up (not as concerned about this) but more importantly the keyboard was filthy. Scuffs, smears, stickiness, and what looked like food particles where on every side of the item, including on and between the keyboard keys. Thankfully I had the right supplies on hand to give it a very thorough yet gentle cleaning, which broad it back to great condition. Since I was able to get it cleaned up, and I confirmed before cleaning that it was fully functional, I decided not to return the item to Best Buy, but an "excellent" condition item should not ever show up in that kind of gross condition. If I do open box again in the future, I'll probably have it shipped to the store so I can inspect it right away at Best Buy.

    Excellent iPad case

This case perfectly complements the iPad Pro. It looks sleek, clean, and professional. The magnets are very strong, and I don’t worry about the iPad detaching from the case. The keypad works great and is a nice keyboard experience. The two docking positions are practical and have a sturdy magnetic connection. I wish I could give this case a 4.5 rating. I have three gripes that kept my rating at 4. First, when the case is folded back, the keypad is on the backside of the iPad. So while using it this way, my fingers are holding the keys with my right hand. It’s not unusable, but it’s not the best or most comfortable grip. It can become a little bit slick after a while, too. It should be noted that pressing the keys while in this position does nothing on the iPad. Second, there is only one color option. Surely this will change in time, but it’s not the case (no pun intended) right now. It makes it hard to distinguish between multiple iPads with the same case. Lastly, it’s pretty expensive. Although it works and looks better than any other case, it’s still quite steeply priced. All in all, this is a great case and is a nice improvement over the previous model iPad case. It makes for an excellent iPad Pro experience, and in my opinion, it’s worth it.

The new keypad portfolio for the iPad 11 inch is great. I wasn’t expecting to like it as much as I do, but after initially using a third party case for the new iPad I see now this is the best on the current market. I wish it provided better protection on the sides but I really don’t treat my electronics roughly so it has not been an issue for me. The case will display fingerprints pretty easily but most of them are easily wiped away. As with every apple product, this is grossly over priced but like I said, the third party case I used initially just did not get the job done. It seemed too tight for my liking. The magnets on this one make fit a non-issue.

    Slimmest and lightest

I compared this keyboard to the Logitech and Zagg keyboards in-store and this was the slimmest and most light weight. It also has two different positions to angle your iPad, which is a new feature compared to the previous model. The Logitech offers more protection (corners are protected) and a back-lit keyboard but it weighs about as much as an MacBook Air with the iPad Pro in it. The Logitech was also designed to allow you to charge your Apple Pencil while also holding it in place with a magnetic strap. So if you don't mind the tradeoffs of a little more weight and size for more features and want to save some money, then I think the Logitech keyboard would be a better buy. I cannot speak on the durability of the Logitech keyboard so that would be another factor to consider. Apple products are very expensive when compared to similar products that often function just as well. So in terms of the value of this keyboard I will say that you are paying a premium for smaller size and less weight and of course the name. I guess Apple believes these features should be worth the premium price. And in my case they were correct, as my purpose for the iPad Pro is to have similar abilities of a laptop while being more light weight and compact.

It is a needed accessory for the iPad Pro if you want to use this for performing productivity-based work. However, it sort of makes me regret my purchase of the 11-inch iPad Pro instead of the 12.9 inch iPad Pro because my hands are big, so there isn’t much key-travel. Plus, the keyboard is not backlit so typing in the dark is not impossible without a light, but it will help if there were a light. The keys are clicky and have a mesh feeling. I actually prefer typing on this rather than my computer because the keys do not get hot or sweaty from the iPad or my fingers. This is not great for true protection, but it gets the job done (minimally). The magnets of the iPad Pro and the keyboard are a genius configuration. The iPad does not fall out. Yet, there is a side to me that says this is not well protected if it drops somehow. The iPad Pro is so light-weight, and this makes it better. The folding of the keyboard to the back makes it great from switching to one-handed drawing to swiftly switching back to typing. Unfortunately, this thing only has two viewing angles. This is not a bummer, but I wish the folio will stand without the keyboard being in the way all the time. I will like to watch a movie without it.

I have owned this keyboard for about a month. I bought it to use on trips, but find that I am using it more regularly at home, too. I looked at many other options and decided on this one even though it is somewhat pricey. My reasons: 1) typing on the keyboard is excellent — good feel and action of the keys. The keyboard is small, but even my extra large glove size hands can use it easily. 2) The folio/keyboard are very light compared to some of the other options. 3) Provides good protection for the iPad — not the best, but I judged it adequate. 4) It integrates well with the iPad — connects immediately. Hold it up and take a picture. It is easy to remove and reconnect the keyboard, but I find that I rarely do that. I have not noticed the deterioration of the material on the folio as mentioned by other reviewers, but I have only had it one month. Also, it does not have backlit keys, but I have not had the need for them. Overall, I have been quite impressed with the keyboard folio.

Do yourself a favor and DO NOT order a third party iPad keyboard to achieve a minimal savings. The integration of apples iPad accessories with their product is so far superior to what a third party vendor can achieve I almost think it’s a disservice to the customer to not bundle them with the device. The price is a bit high, but the fit and wireless integration keyboard is so good it really expands what you feel like you can do with your iPad; plus it serves as a protective case as well. This is the best iPad keyboard and case on the market by far.

I got a new iPad Pro and needed a case. I got this one despite the higher cost. I have pros and cons. Pro: It is easy to type on a real keyboard in my case. At least, I am more accurate. It is well constructed and relatively light. I don't expect to drop test, but suspect it would protect my iPad. The two view angles are well designed. Getting power and easy connection to the iPad is very nice. Con: I find it hard to open. May be my stiff fingers, but it is not as easy as my previous case. I have also experienced having the iPad come out of the case when opening. It is hard to select the suggested words when typing.

While it is expensive, I think Apple’s keyboard cover is the best option for the iPad Pro. It’s super light, pretty thin, and connects via the wireless connectors on the back of the iPad, which means you don’t have to charge it, and you don’t have to put up with Bluetooth. The case’s exterior feels good but seems to get dirty easily. The keys themselves are a little mushy but provide enough travel and audible clickiness that I don’t mind it. The two positions you can set the iPad in work well and the magnets are VERY strong. Overall, I wouldn’t call it the best typing experience, but I’m pretty happy with my purchase.

The keyboard is large enough for conventional fingering, and the keys have a good feel. The fold-out design is simple and sleek but sturdy. For larger outputs some might prefer the larger version, but for travel and staying current away from home, it turns the IPad into a lightweight mini-laptop that packs easily and sets well on the lap or a desk or table. The price seemed high but it’s perfectly matched for the IPad Pro.
