Customers consistently note the excellent keyboard quality and ease of use of the Smart Keyboard Folio for 12.9-inch iPad Pro (3rd Generation). Many appreciate its slim design, minimal added weight, and the added benefit of device protection. However, some find the price to be a significant drawback. The case's bulk is a less frequently mentioned concern.

This is nicer than the other brands. It feels nicer, it‘s sleeker, and it‘s grotesquely overpriced. Buy it anyway because it is fantastic in those moments you want more than a giant iPhone.

Turns my iPad into a full-fledged laptop!

This Keyboard Folio is an essential accessory for anyone who wants to buy the iPad Pro!
It has turned my iPad into a full-fledged laptop replacement for when I need it to be one. However, it also acts as a nice way to prop-up the screen if you are simply consuming media.
Finally, unlike past Keyboard Folios, this one completely protects the device, front-and-back, so I'm never worried about setting it down on something and scratching the metal back or glass front to my iPad.
This is really an essential buy for the iPad Pro.

This case fits like a glove and snaps on without effort. The two viewing angles comes in handy and clicks and locks into place. Typing takes a little bit to get used to and i would like it to allow you to control more from the keyboard (volume, scrolling with arrows, home button, etc). It offers great protection for the screen when it’s closed but does not offer much, if any corner and side protection. It is a quality product like I expect from Apple and carries that price tag as well. That being said I don’t regret one bit spending the money on this keyboard case. Plus it makes the iPad Pro feel complete and capable of replacing laptops in most day to day tasks.

This is a great keyboard! Thin and light. Does not need to be charged and does not use Bluetooth as it gets power from connecting directly to the iPad smart connector. It attaches to the iPad with really strong magnets. It’s amazing how well it holds to iPad. Key have a nice tactile feel. I do wish the keys were illuminated and there were volume controls, etc on the keyboard. But still my first recommendation!

I bought this with new 3rd Gen 12.9" iPad Pro, and I am very pleased to have done so. It protects the iPad well enough, and the keyboard is functional and easy to get used to. It also feels like a full-length keyboard, which is nice. I do miss the backlit keys that you could get with other 3rd party vendors, but with two small kids who sometimes have crumbs and liquid nearby, I appreciate the splash and debris resistance in the keyboard. I'm sure one could get by without a screen protector, but I bought one too, and it works well with the case. The case is also designed to work with the 2nd gen Apple Pencil as well. I'm a fan!

I am new to tablets, having a keyboard with it made me think “it’s like a laptop”. Always skeptical, but this typecover not only is lightweight, it provides a decent cover, and functions as a decent stand. It takes some getting used to, as the keys are shallow and of course doesnt have a separate num pad. I am considering a wireless keyboard with its own numeric pad. It is for a tablet, so for what it is intended for it definitely works.

I was thinking why apple doesn’t do this keyboard similarly to the magic keyboard because I loved my MacBook keyboard and wondering how it will be like to types on this Smart Keyboard. Surprisingly the experience I have had with this keyboard is by far amazing! Much better than I thought I could be.
The downside is this keyboard folio doesn’t protect your ipad. Not at all! It’s sooooo thin and light weighted! Super! And it doesn’t cover the side of the ipad. Only front and back. I would expect more for $200. That’s shy I only give it a three stars.

I really love this sleek keyboard. It has a nice type, it’s simple and quick to use. I do find that if I’m typing for awhile it gets a little uncomfortable since it’s so flat and there is no wrist support, at all. Which i understand because the sleek design folio would not look right if it did. I definitely recommend if you are frequently writing emails, or needing to type often. I haven’t touched my laptop since having this for my iPad 12.9

This is a nice keyboard to match with an iPad. It is not great for laps but it's lightness makes up for this. It is also very protective. The magnets that hold it in place are strong and reliable.

It is very sad that this keyboard case is the only one that is available during the time of the Ipad Pro’s (3rd gen) release. I am coming from using the Qode (from Belkin) and that keyboard/case blew this one out of the water with value for the money for half the money.
Pros
-Keyboard feels great. (Typing feels very natuural for me)
-Nice Strong magnets, Ipad always feel nice and secure to the case
-Case is very thin and low profile
Cons
-So overpriced
-No keyboard/Ipad shortcuts (no siri, or other Ipad controls)
-No backlighting (this is a big one)

I bought this because it does not need to charge or connect to the iPad via WiFi and instead is an instantaneous connection. It’s also nice that it acts as a case/cover. There are some design flaws though and I dont know how I feel about it them. First, when you want to just use the screen and not the keyboard you have to flip the keyboard to the back of the iPad and they face down, now touching whatever service the iPad is resting on. Second, there is no way to prop the IPad up on an angle without connecting it to the keyboard. It’s just somewhat annoying and I think it’s hard to justify it’s price.

The 3rd Gen iPad Pros are best Apple Product released in years! The brand new design is sleek, yet comfortable to hold in the hand. Having the Apple Pencil mount on the side makes it much more convenient. You never have to worry about your pencil being out of charge.
One thing to be mindful of is that this product is not hard to bend, so you will want to put this in a case, or make sure to buy AppleCare + in case you ever experiencing this issue.

This Folio works very well with the iPad Pro. I use it daily, even right at this moment. It is light and does not interfere with charging the pencil or inhibit the mounting of the Hyper Drive. However, I would suggest to somehow make it possible to use the camera with the folio in open position (not keyboard) and add some kind of padding to keep it from slapping closed.

Okay, it’s by Apple so it’s going to be overpriced.
Now that we got that out of the way, it works really well as a responsive compact keyboard that requires no additional power / charging and doubles as a front and back cover.
The limitations are that it’s not designed to fold backward / flat — at least not as shown in the manual — so that you can use it without the keyboard extended in front of it. You cannot rotate the iPad into portrait mode for apps that only support that orientation.
Other desired but missing things are: no backlit keys, no escape key, no edge protection, the material looks like it will easily scratch (so I carry mine in a pouch to protect it while in my backpack).
Two positions for screen tilt is okay but limiting and closing the keyboard sometimes lifts the back of the cover off since you’re fighting against magnets holding the back and the tilted bottom edge in place.
As of this review the Logitech. Edison supporting the newest 12.9 iPad Pro is not available so this was the only option I considered. It’s fine. It works.

This is the first time I have used an Apple folio keyboard. I've used the magnetic covers in the past, but never their keyboard. I have to say that I am impressed with the ease of use and quality of the keyboard. There is no need for separate charging because it draws power directly from the iPad and the connection takes away the need to use bluetooth technology. This is a great addition to the Apple family. Great job!
