the apple superdrive eternal dvd/cd drive is a simple easy to use product that helps me to burn cds from my itunes collection without any problems i recommend this product to anyone looking for an external drive

I recently needed to get some CDs downloaded to my computer so I recently purchased this unit so that I could do that. I found that it works exceptionally well and it is very user friendly. The transfers were very quick and no corruption occurred. I would highly recommend this unit.

It is a shame that computers no longer include disc drives, But then, I owned my iMac for about a year before I needed a disc drive. I prefer Apple/Mac products so this was the only drive I considered. I read the reviews saying the drive would not accept the disc, but I thought mine would be different. It wasn't. The drive didn't grab the disc and hold it in. The issue was easily resolved. I call Apple Tech support and was directed unplug the power cord for several seconds, reinsert the cord, then start the computer with the drive plugged in to the USB port. It worked. I think of it this way: the computer has to recognize what is attached when it turns on. How can the drive work with the computer if the computer doesn't know it's there? In a perfect world, this information would be included in the user guide. Since I rarely need a CD rive, I was glad I was able to use my points to reduce the cost. All that being said, the drive works well. I installed software, imported music from CDs easily. I plan to upgrade my laptop soon, and I'm glad I already own the drive I will need.

I needed a CD burner and I'm glad that I bought this one. It's everything you look for in a burner, small size, fast, and durable. It feels like you could drop it and it would be totally fine. I've used it to burn about 50 discs so far and it's worked perfectly, still fast, no weird noises, etc.

I purchased the Apple - SuperDrive 8x External USB Double-Layer DVD±RW/CD-RW Drive as a companion to my MadBook Pro (no dvd/cd drive) and am not disappointed. Easy to use, compact and fast. I am a compulsive photo taker and this drive makes it easy to create and save ALL my favorite photos.

Purchased as an accessory to my MacBook Air ... using it to digitize some of my older music still on CD. It's very easy to use, attractive and quiet! It's also small enough to travel and/or store out of sight. The price was also quite nice. I would recommend it for anyone looking for an external CD-RW drive.

I got this as an accessory to my new MacBook Pro so I could watch DVDs and upload CDs to iTunes. I had to use the USB-C adapter cable to connect it and it worked flawlessly. Nice and compact and easy to use. I haven't used it extensively but tried both of the above scenarios & it worked well.

This drive's stylings look great, and equally matches MacBook portables or even MacMini just fine. When I bought it, BestBuy was offering an additional 15% off retail price which was great! Compatible both with Windows/boot camp as well as latest MacOS! Better reliability than no-name branded drives at half the price.

Anything Apple is going to be a great purchases on function and esthetics. People might complain about the price but for an apple product, it is well worth the money. It works as soon as you plug it in the first time and every time.

This drive is the very definition of plug and play. No fuss, no hassles, just plug it in and it works almost instantly. I was concerned initially that the USB interface would be too slow to play movies without lag, but it works excellently. And it is easy to carry in my laptop bag as it is barely bigger than a CD case.

I like it, I just would have liked it to have been part of my labtop, instead of having to purchase it separately.

Product worked really well. Was able to use my dvds and cds, as I don’t have a cd or dvd player. A little pricy, but it worked well on my laptop and desktop.

I needed an exterior DVD player when my ‘vintage’ MAC would no longer play movies created in England. This worked perfectly for my needs and is small enough, read sleek, that it seems to be a part of the computer itself.

Still have a foot in physical media for music, so I purchased this to back up some of my old beloved CDs.. So far, it's been a solid performer for the last year. I generally rip to losses with error correction. It may be a tad slow, but I'd rather just do it once and get the high quality backup with fewer errors. Playback has been great as.

Obviously many people don’t really need or use disc drives anymore but it was a necessity for work. I like that I knew I wouldn’t have any compatibility issues since it’s made by Apple but I do worry at times that a disc could get stuck since there’s no eject button.
