I bought my first MAC computer and so far Love it. I have always bought DELL until recently . I would usually get several years from my DELL but my last one DIED after just over a year (hard drive fried) and actually I had been having problems with it soon after getting it. I was quite disappointed so I decided to go with a MAC PRO!!!!

It don’t work it’s broken I did not get to use the dvd drive 1 time don’t buy

I love my Apple SuperDrive you literally plug it in and start using it. It is super compact and has a sleek gender neutral design. I love it! The only bad thing about it is that is was a little pricey, however it is so easy to use and so compact that I would say it was worth the money.

The SuperDrive is pretty great so far - the fact that it's separate from your machine means you can use it with a variety of Apple computers, which is a big plus. It's incredibly easy to use since it's connected via USB and there is virtually no installation necessary - just pop in a DVD and you're ready to go. It's really quiet and hasn't heated up in the time I've used it, and the design aesthetic matches the rest of Apple's products so it fits right in. However, I was really disappointed to find out that it's not compatible with Blu Rays. You'd think with their Retina screens, Apple would've come to the obvious conclusion that Blu Ray should be included on their SuperDrives, but unfortunately it's DVD/CD only.

My super drive has amazed me. Neat connection. I didn't need to learn a new language to execute tasks. Disc insertion was quiet . Disc eject was polite. It kept up with my sometimes frantic command pace. A true high achiever with a crisp look. The absolute boss of information upload. Understandable function, trustworthy speed, and impressive results. I will enjoy working with this one.

I've read how Appple states we live in a all wireless world which I agree it is becoming. Ur there are still times when you need to go back to the past like useing cd's for presentations or assignment for school or to just watch a film on your laptop (yes kids there are still people who watch movies this way especially if your wifi is very weak as it can be when traveling). I find Apples SuperDrive as a necessary tool as most macs no longer come with a drive. I like to burn music cd's and this is very fast in that process plus aesticetly it is a good looking product that fits oerfictky with a Apple laptop it's small enough to pull around in your laptop Everyone may not need it & yes there are less expensive options the Apple SuperDrive is still a good option with the looks & performance to satisfy any user.

PROS • Compatible with all Apple computers • Easy set up. Plug and Play • Decent build quality CONS • I think it is a bit overpriced compared to other models out there. • If you are using this with a newer MacBook, it doesn’t come with a USB-C plug. You will have to buy and adapter. • No physical eject button. Expect to have to eject your CD/DVD via your Mac. Overall good quality and easy to use though.

It’s been a long time sunce i’ve had to install software from a cd. My mac does not cone with the integrated disc reader so i purchased this external device. It is super quiet and fast. Installing it to the computer was as easy as counting 1-2-3. It does bot take alot of space on the desk.

It works effortlessly with my Macbook Pro with Retina Display, and it matches all other Apple hardware, which is nice from an esthetic point of view. However, there are lots of other external DVD drive options on the market, ones that cost less than this one does. The sale a few weeks back for $10 off is what really drove me to make this purchase.

I bought a new iMac 27" 5k and gave my 2009 iMac to my daughter. Of course I needed a CD drive because I do like to make music CD's etc but with the slim new models the drive is eliminated. So that led me to research CD drives and even though I saw some bad reviews on the Apple CD drive mine is excellent. Very quite and fast! No ejection problems and it is well built and of course matched my computer. It is not cheap plastic but brushed aluminum. Just plug and play. That simple. Much faster than the built in drive of my old computer. I just think if you buy an iMac stick with Apple products for best results. There are cheaper drives but you have to set them up, the Apple Super drive took all of a minute to be up and running.
