Great product and great price! I purchased a MacBook Air without a cd/dvd player. This USB SuperDrive works very nicely with my MacBook Air. Easy to use and runs great! I haven’t had any issues.

Works very good. I am pleased with it so far and like how thin it is as I can put it about anywhere. It is also a perfect match for my Mac. It is a little pricey for what it offers though.

Works seamlessly with my iMac, just plug and play. Fits on top of iMac base, has same brushed stainless finish and looks like it is original part of the iMac. Best Buy did price match for SuperDrive.

Was looking for an add on CD/DVD player. I first purchased a cheapie knock-off from an online store & it didn't work at all, even tho the ad said it was compatible with Apple Mac Book Air's, so sent it back & decided to purchase this, an "actual" Apple product. Was a little apprehensive at first when I was on my way home. But once I got home & plugged it in it worked flawlessly right off the bat. I learned a valuable lesson, like the old saying goes " you get what you pay for " & how oh so true it was with this incident/purchase. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for an add-on CD/DVD player for your Apple product.

Since you can't get a newer MacBook with a built in DVD/CD burner I consider this a must have. I make DVDs and CDs for family all the time and it's never failed. Quite and fast, it's a great portable drive.

This drive works fast and I’ve no issues burning a bunch of cds to my MacBook! I didn’t think I’d like the external drive but I’m over it and it’s totally not a problem if you need one for your MacBook don’t hesitate to get this. *One caveat, if you have the newest MacBook Pro 2021 you’ll need the USB C to USB adapter and it will work fine! (Extra money but if you have the new MacBook it’s totally worth it for the speed of usb C!)

Great burner, runs quiet and smooth, easy to use with apple gear and is sleek and solid in design. If my experience with other Apple computers and equipment is anything to go by, this should last well.

I bought this external drive because the internal drive in my 2009 iMac died. It would have gotten 5 stars, but I had to go through major efforts to figure out how to make it work. It seems Apple wanted me to either have the iMac serviced or make the choice to upgrade to a newer Mac. I ended up poking around the internet and discovered a sudo command that had to be run through the terminal app, then do a reboot, and then it worked fine. It loads fast, runs quietly, and of course matches aesthetically with all other Apple products. I will mark it recommended, but really only for those that need a drive for a machine that doesn't already have one built in - for some reason that's who Apple seems to have intended it for. I've read other reviews where people bought it for the same reason I did and ended up taking it back.

I am happy I purchased this product. It works really well. I used it to download a CD I recently purchased and watched a DVD I had not watched in years, all on my MacBook. I have not tried some of the other features, but so far so good. I do wish it was a little less expensive. That is why I am hoping it will last a very, very long time.

This unit is small and compact. It's design fits my whole setup and looks great. Set was easy and all instructions very clear. Would definitely recommend this to all Apple desk top users.

I felt I needed this since my MacBook Air doesn't have a DVD/CD drive in it. And I have DVD's and CD's I want to put on to my Mac. Plus I can also put my pics and some other data on to a CD or DVD now, which I like to do. Apple's products are great and their reputation is really good. Some friends & family I have have highly recommended them. originally I had some problem with my Mac but I found out it was because of my slow internet connection, so I switched to a faster internet provider and my Mac and also my Windows computers work MUCH better.

I have a macbook pro 13". It does not have a CD/DVD drive. This drive works great, like most apple products, it's probably a little overpriced, but it works great and is designed well. Basically, it's like every other Apple product.

The Apple external DVD/CD drive is a great addition to my IMac computer. It is compact, fast and easy to use. It rests nicely on the computer stand and looks as though its part of the computer.

This optical drive works identically to the one that was installed in my now -dead iMac and as such is perfectly fine to use. One thing purchasers should know (because even the Best Buy Apple specialists weren't aware) is that this drive will ONLY work if it is plugged directly into the computer. It will not work from an extension dock or USB hub. With the MacBooks built in the past two years, you need to take this into account because of the limited number of ports some of these computers ship with. If you buy the current MacBook, it only has a single input, so you won't be able to use this drive while it is plugged into power. (Also, you have to buy a USB-C to USB-2 adapter for it.) Also, the price of $79 is on the high side compared to other external optical drives sold by third-party manufacturers. Indeed, it's almost enough to buy a Blu-Ray capable drive. The main advantage to this drive is your ability to blame Apple if there are any problems.

I previously used a G4 iMac, and a G4 Powerbook. Both were Super Drive equipped. I was without both of those units for the past couple years after the SW was made obsolete. I thought I would be happy just using my iPhones, but there are too many things I was missing out on so when I bought a new MacBook Pro the decision to buy the SuperDrive was easy, it was even more easy when I saw the Best Buy price. So I am back in the processing business again and can resume producing DVDs and music CDs. Seamless functionality is the hallmark of Apple computing equipment and the SuperDrive is that 100%. Consider me a Happy Apple user again

I needed an external CD drive for my iMac. This fit the bill! I was able to easily transfer photos from CDs to my computer for easy storage and retrieval. Now I don’t have to worry about the cd getting damaged and the photos being “lost forever”! The nice thing is that I can put it away when not in use which frees up a usb connection for something else!

This device is very well designed and appears to be well engineered. Easy to set up. Must be connected directly to my Macbook Air USB drive to function. Has been operating without issue for the last month plus. Another well executed product by Apple and for this we pay a slight premium.

A nice plug and play option for the newer Macs that lack the device. There is no software to download, app to seek out or anything else. Just plug it in and it works. The only drawback is the mechanism that pulls in the cd/dvd has a bit of a gag reflex and will spit out the odd disc a couple times before it loads. Besides this, a nice solid unit that is barely bigger than a CD case.

I wasn't thrilled that I had to purchase a external drive with the new MacBooks, but this drive performs well as expected. It is easy to use and slim for easy storage.
