As a network engineer, I often need to collect switch packet captures. As a wireless networking expert, I also need to be able to connect to wireless controllers and other network equipment when the wireless network is down for service. While I typically use a Windows laptop for my work, the MacBook Air, at 1 kg, is easier to carry on site surveys and long trips than the 3 kg Windows laptop. This little adapter allows me to connect to the wired network from my MBA, and dual booting Windows 7 on the MBA lets me run my wireless tools. Wireshark will run natively on MacOS, or under Windows, so the small laptop is a complete tool kit. I also carry a 1 TB external disk and a DVI to VGA adapter, and can typically borrow a monitor if the 11.1" screen is too small to view a site plan as a whole.

The Apple ethernet adapter was very easy to set up. Provides fast connection to internet for Apple and non-Apple products.

It's more speed than wi-fi, when You are in a Hotel or out of the office, there is another thunderbolt cable better, if your computer has this feature.

A friend gave me one of the same style adaptor but with a knock off brand that would not work with my Mac. I plugged this in and no issues! It was a little more but if it works with no issues I am happy to spend the extra money.

It is expensive for what it is, but that is the case for apple products. Feels good in hand and works.

too bad that the macbook air doesnt have the ethernet port and is understandable for that. this is a very useful accessory for all macbook air users.

It has one job and does it well, It is USB 2.0 but I was aware of that when I bought it, I use it for wired connections to my fedora partition on my laptop as thunderbolt does not work in Fedora. Feels well but and works well.

Very easy to use, just plug it in and it works. I rarely need to use an ethernet cable, but it works well for when I do.

Very useful, nice travel size, and highly recommended for those with a MacBook Air that has to use a ethernet cord.

I think this is a perfect Ethernet to USB adapter for my MACs.

It does what it is advertised for. No problems here .

Since my laptop only has 2 thunderbolt and 2 usb ports, the resources are precious. I normally have my phone plugged into one and the portable hd in the other, leaving me with no ports. Since there's a thunderbolt one, I decided to return this one and go w/ that.

Needed an ethernet adapter for Macbook Air because of pack of ethernet port. Works great but must be stabilized on table when connected to ethernet wire. Great buy for the price and convenience!

Used for general purpose in foreign lands where there is only wired nterrnet iconnections
