I will admit that I am an apple junkie, but unfortunately they really left me down with this one. The battery life on this is dismal, not even getting through an entire day on a full charge. The health monitoring aspects (which is something I was truly interested in) did not sync up to my real world testing. I had the watch monitor my pulse while I did so myself using my carotid and fingers - the watch did not have the same results that I did. Also, as something that really wants to be a sports watch, it doesn't work well without having you have your iPhone glued to your side. I don't like taking my phone with me when I run, so this was disappointing that if I wanted it to work as well as possible that I would have to. Not to mention like I said above, it isn't 100% accurate. unless you absolutely want your notifications sent to your wrist, there is little this watch is useful for. Besides that, unless you are going to be dictating all your convos on your wrist, you are likely to still end up pulling your phone out to reply back (though the dictation is excellent and had very few mistakes). Yet, if you're out with people or having a private convo, dictating isn't always the best way to respond. I feel that for the price of the watch, you should be getting a little more accuracy, a lot better battery life, and I think apple could throw a GPS into the watch. Maybe the next version of the watch will have these things, and I hope it does. However, as far as this first generation product goes, unless you can look past all the flaws, there are better options out there for a better price.

I had the Pebble and this is a step up from it.
The style and finish is excellent. I have the sport version in black 42mm.
It is so nice to be able to answer a call, or text by voice.
I use it for bicycle rides, running, at the gym. Gives me heart rate and I can control my music apps directly from the watch.
Another nice feature is that the watch can be used to remotely control the iphone camera.
Screen resolution is excellent. There are too many features to list.
I don't use it for apps, but there are a few that are worth mentioning. One of them is Activity. It helps me track y activity level and pushes me to do more.
The modular watch face is my favorite, gives me battery level, time of the day, date, temperature, activity levels, and I put a timer shortcut because use it often.
And let's not forget Siri, I have been using Siri a lot more. To send text messages, find locations, play music, even for arithmetic calculations, all on the watch.
There are a few downsides. At the end of the day my battery is about 40% left, not bad for all the things it does but the Pebble has more battery life but a lot less usefull.
Some apps are slow to open. And the watch is easily scratched. I have installed a screen protector and a thin plate to protect it.
Overall great device. I'm happy with it.

I needed a fitness tracker - steps, calories, activity etc. Ideally I wanted heart rate monitor and sleep tracker.
I got Garmin Vivofir (1st version, no heart strap) as a gift and was happy with it even though the functionality was limited. I loved the app but didn't love the sync time. When I lost it I wanted to by the same one but my friend talked me into the Apple Watch. I do not regret this decision. Yes, I paid $300 for these but they can do so much more than just a fitness tracker. This is what I use:
1) Steps, Activity, Calories
2) sleep tracking with Sleep++ app (app sucks, but still ok)
3) heart rate when exercising
4) call/text notification when playing tennis (i really need that to not miss calls from kids daycare)
5) answering the phone when in the car or phone is hard to reach
6) emails and texting
7) check the time :)
8) calculator
I am charging it every other day, charging takes 1 hour and I usually do that during the day not at night.
I can't really say what are the cons of this product. to me $300 is a fair price and if you have an iPhone this would be a nice addition.

This watch is great. It does so many things. I love using the GPS function b/c you do not have to look at your phone at all. You can see all the directions on your wrist & it vibrates to let you know when a turn or exit is coming up. Also, if you can't find your iphone you can immediately ping it from your Apple watch (even if your iphone ringer is on silent) and your iphone will beep loudly so you can find it without going to findmyiphone.com. It does a ton of other stuff too. It's awesome!!

I purchased this product for my husband as a Christmas gift. He loves it! He enjoys being able to accurately see his activity levels during the day as well as making easy phone calls and text messages from the watch. There are some improvements that Apple can make (like a simple calculator would be nice), but for their first release, this is great.

Apple Watch great so easy to use, great fit, easy to read. Call feature loud enough to hear on speaker. So much it can do the longer I have it the more uses I find. Only thing from giving 5 stars is battery life needs to be charged every day.

As many apple products are just awesome in design, apple watch i bought is also just awesome in its Design and functionality. I found it very useful while driving the car as i can take the calls just through my watch without much distraction. Also during workout i can control my music to play, pause (or) just skip to next song with ease. All alters be it a what's up message, messages (SMS), or chat message on my mac (when i am away from it) i get it directly on to my wrist.

The Apple Watch is a good tool, when used properly. It allows me to check notifications and decide if I want to pull my phone out of my pocket to act on them or not. I wish more of the apps I use regularly would support the Apple Watch so that I could get this benefit in more of them.
There are a few drawbacks, but most of them are not "show stopper" level for me. The most concerning is the battery life. I normally get to the end of my day with 30-45% battery life left but I have had a few days with less than 15%. It will fully charge in just a couple hours (as long as I have the proprietary charging cable handy). The other minor annoyance I have seen is that when it is set to "replicate" notifications from the iPhone, the notification only goes to the watch if the phone screen is off, and then it doesn't go to the phone at all. FOr contacts with custom alerts, those only happen on the phone, not on the watch, so when the alerts are only going to the watch, you don't get the custom alerts for those contacts. This is something that Apple should be able to fix in a software update.

The Good:
- Apple Pay
- Near flawless voice recognition
- Heart rate monitor
- Look and feel
- Ease of use
This is the perfect accessory to your iPhone. I love the fitness features and the voice recognition features. I have no complaints other than lack of apps, but that will change over time.
Give it a try, you won't be disappointed.

after getting the iPhone 6 plus, apple tv, and an ipad, the next step of course is the watch. working in retail management, this allows for me to not only to leave my phone in the back all the time, but the notifications, makes it feels as though I have my phone on my wrist at all time! great product, battery could be slightly better!

I got this for myself and one for the wife after Apple recent price drop and BB sale, which took off a substantial amount of the cost. I had originally avoided the AW at it's release pricing since it can't operate independent of the iPhone. But I bit once I saw the price reduction as it will allow me to see if this is right for me.
I have to admit that I love it. I use it as an extension of my iPhone 6S+ and love the fact I can get my calls, iMessage, and various updates without taking out my phone. The AW is a little slow and can use a faster processor but that's being picky. It's not meant to be very immersive or entertaining as that's what my iPhone is for.
The OLED display on the Sport model is amazing and better than the one on the Watch Edition as the Sapphire Crystal reflects more light and lowers contrast. The battery life seem right on at about 18 hours which is OK only. I'd wish for 2 days instead as I can do stuff like sleep tracking, which is not possible as you have to charge it each night.
Great purchase overall at sales pricing, which Apple has allowed due to slow adoption of the AW.

I purchased this with Christmas money because it wasn't something I'd spend that much of my own on. However, I'm now very happy I did. I can now receive and talk on the phone while driving without having to get my phone out etc. huge benefit. I also see my calendar thatissynced to my main calendar and don't have to worry about missing appointments During the day. It keeps track of vital stats like heart and steps taken if you are doing that so that's neat. Texts come thru and while I can't type out an immediate reply, I have choices of good replies that I can use without typing on my phone during a meeting. Having weather etc is nice too. I'm still not quite used to the band that snaps together oddly, but can manage. Don't like prices for new ones so I'll make it work. I got the larger 42mm version and it is still sleek and nice looking without being obtrusive. And I can see the text nicely. Others have remarked about that as well. I like the ability to customize the face with what I want. All in all, it's a good very functional watch. And if you purchase a nice non-smart watch you could easily pay more.

The Apple Watch is as much a game changer as the iPhone was when it was first introduced. I use it for weather (Dark Sky) , to get myself moving (Apple Health and Pacer), watching my schedule, waking up on time, even sending texts quickly and safely while on the road. Oh, and it tells time. Plus I love the Mickey face.
I'm not terribly fond of the basic Sport band, as it makes my wrist sweat, but a little baby powder helps.
There have been complaints about the relatively short battery life, but if you charge the watch a couple times a day - while you're getting ready for work in the morning, for instance - you'll probably never run out of power. I've worn it for a month nearly constantly except when showering, and I haven't run low on power yet.
The only flaw I've found is the inexplicable lack of a way to find it from your phone - you can't even set off a chirp from your phone if you misplace the watch. However, if you adjust the watch's volume from your phone, the taptic engine in the watch thumps with every change, a quiet but audible reaction. Hopefully, Watch 2.0 OS will address that omission.

As you would expect from Apple this smart watch looks great. My only gripe is the software, version 2.0 is an improvement, but other than the fitness tracking and the notifications (as well as tell time), I'm not sure what to do with this watch. I'm still discovering new things so maybe with more time and updates it will become less of a cool gadget and more of an indispensable tool. I said yes I would recommend, but the watch is not quite for everyone.

So I bought one when it first came out, returned it, and now bought it again to give it another shot. I'm not overly impressed that it's the missing link in my life that I've always been missing... but with that said, it provides an interesting new way to interact with my iPhone.
Let me add that I'm not a watch, wearer, so it takes a bit of getting used to from not wearing a watch, to wearing a big heavy watch like this was an adjustment.
For notifications of breaking news and texts it's pretty cool feeling the tap on my wrist when I otherwise wouldn't feel the phone in my pocket.

I've had this watch for a month now and love it! If you are familiar with apple products, the interface is very user friendly and similar in appearance to other Apple products. I purchased this mainly for the fitness tracking, which I use daily. The other features are great and it does way more than I expected!

It has become just as important for me to have my watch on as it is to have my phone. It's simply amazing. The fact that I can see emails and texts without having to pull them up on my phone is a time saver. It taps my wrist when I am navigating to a location telling me to turn. I just can't rave enough about it.
