    AppleCare is great to have with any product. Screens can break easily and this covers everything expect loss or theft.

    haven't had to use this yet, a new purchase! but the warranty should begin after the first 1 yr. products warranty expires. we lost a year, and should be covered for 3yrs after purchase not 2yrs!
