I've always purchased applecare for my laptops and it has been invaluable. Over the lifetime of my prior macbooks i have always needed it at least once for hardware repair and well worth cost.

The apple care is definitely with the extra money. I know its not cheap, but when there is a problem with the mac it can become very expensive.

Luckily have had not to use apple care yet but before only offered a 1 year plan for previous mac from manufacturer. Love the 3 year option

This is a must for any apply product. After two weeks my MacBook screen crack after going over a speed bump because I had papers in the MacBook. Apply fixed it in 3 days with no problem

We have AppleCare for our iPhones and the coverage is great (we have used it!). AppleCare is a must when you invest in high quality products. I like that it is for a 3 year period.

Three year warranty fits with the average replacement cycle of many people... tho with a MacBook Pro the cycle will probably outlast the warranty!
