Bought this as a replacement drive to backup my main computer, works great for that.

I went into best buy and explained my situation and the associated was very helpful and knew what I wanted right away. Only thing is I haven't gotten a chance to use the product as I don't have a computer yet. I needed this item to retrieve some old files, pictures and audio books from an old broken laptop's hard drive. If it works as it should....as I know it will, then I will be one happy camper.

As easy as it gets, load software, put in new drive, hit start.

I learned my lesson the hard way that backups need to be done on a schedule that corresponds to the amount of work you're willing to lose when your drive eventually fails. I used this along with the freeware program testdisk to recover almost all of the files that weren't on my most recent backup.

great item to have when upgrading HDD or cloning..

I bought this for use with both PC and Mac and while it seemed super easy to use with a PC with detailed instructions, I started first with my Mac- where the instructions were not so clear and it kinda turned me off. I ended up getting the task done but it was difficult enough that I never got around trying it out on the PC.

I used this to duplicate my hard drive to upgrade to SSD. My goal was to re install operating system from original and add back my documents and specific software however there were no options other than 100% of the original drive.

While I didn't try to use the cloneing software that came with the unit, it didn't have any problems being recognized by either of the computers that I used it with and it didn't have any issues with the hard drives I had in it.

I wanted to move a hard drive from an old and no longer working laptop. This kit worked perfectly. That hard drive is now available through a USB plug-in on my current computer. Super easy and no problems with fit.

This is a simple device to make a USB drive out of an standard 2.5" SATA drive. It works just fine. The connection cable is in the package and all the parts fit correctly together.

Worked exactly as advertised...flawless. I used it on an hp laptop running windows vista. It took about 45 minutes. I upgraded from a 100 gb drive (almost full) to a 500 gb drive.

I pulled a hard drive out of my old laptop and snapped it into this device. Keeps it protected and connected to my new laptop so that I can access old files for transfer or use it as a back up storage device.

Installed 2.5 inch hard drive and plugged it in, laptop recognized it immediately. Excellent backup device. Plan on getting another one for my other laptop.

My wife's computer died, so we bought this hard drive enclosure in order to relocate her computer's information to a new computer. It worked perfectly!

The installation of old hard drive was very easy. New computer recognized the USB 3 drive and quickly began adding files to the new computer.

Previous computer had been burned in a fire. Needed a housing for the harddrive that was, miraculously undamaged. This did the trick. I was able to recover all data.

I really like it, being USB 3.0 is a big plus, very well built, software included is good enough for cloning.
