I know it’s subjective, but I really like the app design, and the design of the thermostat itself. It’s elegant and pleasing to use compared to the other three major competitors; the forest company, the bee company, and the search engine company… if you catch my drift. To me Aqara does it better. I also like the Matter integration and the option to have Apple Home do my smart schedule or Aqara do it. So giving the choice to the user. It doesn’t seem like Google Home or Alexa can do it though. And I know this is petty, but turning the display blue when the cooling is on, red when the heating is on, and turning it black when the cooling/heat is off at a glance is a simple nice touch that some companies didn’t adopt. The other minor plus is the fact that you don’t need Aqara auxiliary/remote sensors for averaging the temp in your house. It is a little bit of a workaround using Apple Home and Matter, so it’s not perfect and breaks fairly easily, but the app will recognize the temp of the new sensor thanks to Apple Home being the bridge. All that said, I do plan on buying the sensors officially from Aqara at a later date since I assume it’ll be more reliable. As for installation, it is the step right above plug and play for difficulty. Whatever that is. I popped off my old insect bee one (wink wink), took a good video and photo of the wiring, then plopped the new one on and two screws later, all done! It was very easy. Things I didn’t like? Auto-brightness for one! It is terrible, it just gets super dark as you approach it. Your shadow will make it think it’s dark. But the biggest issue with it for me is the Alexa and Google Home integration, for some reason it shows up as Celsius instead of Fahrenheit. I don’t know why and I can’t seem to change it. It’s super annoying, but at least Alexa and “Hey Google” still knows how to adjust the temp using Fahrenheit. There’s also an Android Tablet app, like for real! Like not a stretched phone app, a legit Android tablet app! The other things I did like is how granular you can get with the settings. Like there’s a threshold setting where you can limit when the AC turns on based on outdoor temps. Say in the fall/winter, there’s an oddly cold day that happens the next day, this happens where I’m at, so the day before is warm, warranting AC usage, then the following day is suddenly 43 degrees. You can set it so that the AC won’t turn on if the outdoor temp is below 40 degrees. Pretty cool. I’ve written enough, but long story short, I am happy with it overall.

I've got a few Aqara zigbee sensors and switches in my smart home and have been looking to replace my Nest thermostat for several years. When I saw that Aqara had released a thermostat, and that it included the ability to add remote sensors via a built in Zigbee radio, I was definitely excited to see what they've come up with. #Unboxing and first impressions# This Aqara W200 kit comes with a C-wire kit that allows you to use the W200 thermostat if your HVAC system doesn't already have one wired in. I did not need to use this kit, so I am just mentioning it as an included option. Fit and finish of the W200 feels a little less premium than my older Nest 3rd gen thermostat did when it was new, though that thermostat has been losing tightness on its base for awhile now so the W200 is a notable improvement. Compared to other smart thermostats that I have used, the Aqara W200 feels about average. The matte display is a blessing and a curse - it makes the display seem less sharp, but also reduces the possibility of annoying reflections if your thermostat is located in a place where that could be a problem. #Installation and Use# My Aqara W200 arrived on the first day of a 3 day 100+ degree heat wave so I was reticent to make any changes to my HVAC system right away! The first day that temps were less dangerous I pulled the fused disconnect and got to work. Replacement of my Nest thermostat was super easy after taking pictures of the wires. I did have one small problem - my previous thermostat had the Rh wire only connected, and the W200 apparently can't work in this configuration. Perhaps my HVAC installers made a mistake a few years ago and the Nest was smart enough to figure out this on its own and jumper Rh to Rc. Either way, some forum threads and reddit posts pointed me in the right direction and I switched the Rh to Rc on my Aqara and it fired right up. I then configured the Aqara app and set up the W200 there. Super easy, and it integrates with Google and Apple login. I was easily able to add it to my Homey system via Matter. Once the W200 was added to homey, the child sensor that I have moved over to the W200 immediately was available in Homey again - though I did have to rename it and place it in an appropriate room. I suspect the same capabilities would work through other Matter compatible home automation systems. I am extremely happy to say that the Aqara W200 fully supports "dual fuel" HVAC systems. My home has a heat pump + gas furnace package unit, and the Aqara W200 has all the settings needed to configure a set point where the heat pump cuts off and it switches over to Aux heat. Also, two things the W200 supports that my Nest did not is a dedicated Aux mode as well as a configurable alert if the aux heat has been running for a certain period of time. When returning from a trip where the house hasn't been occupied for several days but the temps are still above the set point, having a dedicated Aux mode means we can use the gas furnace to quickly return the home to a comfortable temperature without having to wait an hour or so for the thermostat to decide the heat pump isn't doing a good enough job and kick over to gas heat. These capabilities reinforce my impression that the Aqara is a well-thought-out thermostat with a lot of features targeted at people who want to tinker. And for those who don't need those features, it functions as a "smart" thermostat in conjunction with the Aqara app and Apple intelligence to figure out your usage patterns and adjust itself accordingly. #Final thoughts# I am really glad that I waited out switching my Nest for one fo the other big thermostat brands. The Aqara W200 has arrived at nearly perfect time for me, and it seems like it will more than meet my needs. Plus Aqara seems to be actively engaged in improving the product through steady updates, which is a really cool thing to see for a new brand in this space. Easy to recommend this one to anyone looking for a smart thermostat that can be used with many types of HVAC systems.

The Aqara Smart Wi-Fi thermostat was a replacement for a non Wi-Fi thermostat that was installed in my new home. My existing thermostat had all the standard wire connections necessary, so I did not need to use the extra device that came with it just in case you did not have the C wire. It was nice that they supplied it just in case. Removing my old thermostat was very easy. It was attached by 3 screws. I had the old thermostat off in probably 1 or 2 minutes tops. I did go down and turn off the furnace before I started. They recommend doing that so you are not playing with live wires. I used the supplied wire labels to label the wires. I had 5 wires on my system. I removed them and labeled them one at a time. It was super easy that way. Once I had all the wires removed from the old thermostat, I pulled it off the wall and attached the new thermostat base to the wall. My only complaint was that the new base/cover was not quite as large as the old one and the painters painted around the original thermostat so you can now see the paint. The Aqara thermostat has a built in bubble level, so I was easy to ensure the new thermostat was level. Both the old and new thermostat had press down tabs to secure the wires. That made attaching the wires a breeze. After I had hooked up the thermostat, I went down and turned the system back on. The next thing you do is download the app to control the thermostat. I already had the Aqara video doorbell, so I already had the app. Then all I had to do was add the device to my Aqara app. That did not take long. Then it took me through the programming of the temps. That was pretty easy as well. One thing I noticed a bit different is that this one has an auto feature allowing you to leave both the air conditioner and the heat on. I set my heat to 68 and my air conditioner to 72. When on auto, the display shows the temperature range, the actual temperature and the humidity. The fan can also be set on the thermostat. It can be set to auto, on, timer (runs 30 minutes) or cycle 10 minutes every hour. The display is normally dark, but if you walk by it will illuminate to show the temperature range, actual temperature & humidity. If you have the Aqara video doorbell and have them synced together, the thermostat will display the image at the front door. I am very happy with the thermostat so far and would recommend it. My only complaint is that the base plate didn’t cover the paint job under the old thermostat. Other than that I am very happy with this thermostat.

The Aqara Smart Wi-Fi Thermostat has been easy to use and easy to install. My HVAC system is a bit older and doesn’t have a common wire. I was able to use the includes C-Wire adapter during the installation to get things working. The instructions were clear and it was easy to get everything connected correctly. If you have a C-Wire already on your system, this will be even easier. Once installed, the onboarding was easy. I have a few other Aqara products so I’m familiar with the app and it was simple to get the thermostat added and set up on my Wi-Fi network. The thermostat also can act as a Zigbee hub and a Matter controller, in addition to acting as a hub for other Aqara products. This is great, especially when paired with an Aqara doorbell (you can answer the doorbell and see who is at the door from the thermostat). I also have an Aqara smart lock, and you can control that from the thermostat screen as well. It is coming together as a great easy to use, functional for non-technical family members, eco system of products. I also like that the thermostat controls are easy and obvious. So, if you don’t have the app handy, it is just as easy to use the thermostat for control. There are different layouts that you can set on the thermostat screen, too, which is nice. There is also a presence sensor on the thermostat, which can be used for automations. I’ve also connected this to Google Home, which was simple. I plan to convert this to Apple Home soon, and the thermostat does work with Apple Adaptive Temperature and Clean Energy Guidance. One thing to note is that I found the scheduling in the app a bit confusing. I had difficulty figuring out how to set the thermostat to vacation mode. There is an option for a vacation temperature setting, but it only stayed in place for 2 hours, then switched back to the regular schedule. Eventually, I modified the other scheduled time to be a higher temperature to mimic a vacation mode. I’m sure there has to be an easier way to do this, and perhaps by handing over the schedules to Apple Home will make this a non-issue. Overall, I like the options, the ease of installation and the app and on-device controls. Paired with other Aqara devices is awesome and creates an amazing smart home system.

For Apple users especially, this is a standout winner! + Pros + • Installation was a breeze: The onboarding process is straightforward. (Pro Tip: Snap a picture of your existing wiring configuration before un-mounting your old backplate.)

i installed the aqara w200 a couple weeks ago because i wanted something a little more modern than my old thermostat, and honestly ive been pretty impressed with it. the black finish looks really clean on the wall and it doesnt have that cheap plastic look. setup took me a little bit to get everything figured out, but once it was connected it has been pretty easy to use. the display is nice and easy to read, and i like being able to make adjustments right from the thermostat or from my phone. having the c-wire kit included was also a big plus for me because i didnt want to have to go buy extra parts just to get it working. the temperature changes pretty quickly when i adjust it, and so far it has been keeping the house at a pretty consistent temperature. the smart features are probably my favorite part. i have been using it with my smart home setup and its nice being able to control the temperature without having to get up. the matter over thread support is a nice bonus too if you already have compatible smart home devices. i havent messed with every single feature yet, but the ones ive tried have worked pretty well. i also like the scheduling options. i set it to lower the temperature when im not around and bring it back up around the time i usually get home. its one of those things that doesnt seem like a huge deal at first, but after using it for a while you start wondering why you didnt have it before. the thermostat itself is responsive and the controls are pretty straightforward once you get used to them. my only real complaint is that setup can be a little confusing if youre not familiar with smart home devices. there are quite a few settings and compatibility things to figure out, so i had to spend some time going through everything. once i got past that though, it has been working great. overall im really happy with the aqara w200. it looks good, works reliably, and gives me a lot more control over the temperature than my old thermostat did. if youre already using smart home devices and want to add a thermostat to the setup, this is definitely one id consider.

I’ve been really happy with the Aqara Smart Wi-Fi Thermostat W200. Smart thermostats are one of those products where I mostly want them to disappear into the background once they’re installed, and so far that’s exactly what this has done. Installation went smoothly, even though my existing HVAC setup didn’t have the C-wire configuration the thermostat needed. Aqara includes a C-wire adapter in the kit, and that made a potentially annoying installation much easier. The instructions were straightforward, and once everything was wired up, getting the thermostat connected and configured was pretty painless. The biggest highlight for me has been the Apple Home integration. I use Apple Home quite a bit, and the W200 fits into that ecosystem really nicely. Being able to see and adjust the temperature alongside the rest of my smart home devices makes the thermostat feel like part of the house rather than another standalone gadget with another app I need to open. The integration has been responsive and reliable in my use so far. I also already have other Aqara products in my home, including an Aqara doorbell, so adding the thermostat made a lot of sense. Everything works well together, and I like having more of my smart home devices living within the same ecosystem while still being able to control them through Apple Home. The thermostat itself also looks great. The matte black design is clean and modern without drawing too much attention to itself on the wall. The interface is easy to understand, and day-to-day adjustments are simple whether I’m standing in front of it or using my phone. Overall, this has been an easy five-star product for me. The included C-wire adapter made installation much more accessible for my setup, Apple Home integration is excellent, and it fits naturally with the other Aqara devices I already use. Once installed, it’s exactly what I want from a smart thermostat: reliable, easy to control, and mostly something I don’t have to think about.

I’ve really grown to love Aqara over the past couple of years—I’ve added their doorbell cameras, sensors, keypads, and locks to my home, and they all work so smoothly together and with other systems like Apple. When I saw this thermostat, I knew I had to pick it up. I’ve been an Apple fan for a while, and I’ve been looking for a fresh thermostat for my condo that plays nicely with Apple and other setups. I installed my current thermostat about five years ago, so I expected this new installation to be straightforward. Inside the box: * Aqara Smart Wi-Fi Thermostat Display * Base Plate * Trim Plate * Guide & Wire Labels * Hardware (Screws & Drywall Plugs) * User Manual Getting started is super easy—just follow the steps in the Aqara app, which you can grab from the App Store for iOS or Google Play for Android. It took me about 15 minutes. First, just flip off the power at your breaker box before you begin; once that’s done, you’re all set. Good news: it comes with a C-wire, so you’re covered. After everything is installed, just turn the power back on. Once I powered mine up, I was instantly wowed by the big, colorful screen. My old thermostat had a display, but nothing this pretty. If you already use other Aqara devices like I do, they work together so smoothly. The screen even shows who’s at the door if you have the Aqara doorbell. I really love Aqara products, but I think the app could use a little refresh—nothing’s broken, it just feels a bit plain. I really like the look fit and finish of this aqara smart thermostat, very easy to set up just make sure you have a c wire to power it on your HVAC system or it won't work without some type of c wire adapter. I do like how this thermostat is on the smaller side where most of your modern thermostats can tend to be a little bigger with the color displays these days. This gives you many options showing you the weather for the week as well as the indoor and outdoor temperature it's easy to program or it will program itself based on how you set up the temperature throughout the house during the day night and week as well as weekends. This is the fourth thermostat I've had in my house two of them being smart so it was pretty simple to install, just follow the direction based on your HVAC system and the wiring you have to your current thermostat and it should go pretty fast. I have this connected to my Wi-Fi and also to my Google nest assistant display which makes changing or switching the temperature as well as the AC and heat a breeze without going to the hallway to the thermostat itself to change our turn on or off the HVAC system. I would definitely recommend this to anybody looking for a smart thermostat.

Replaced an aging out early model smarthome thermostat. This easily swapped the older unit. Connecting to my home network was incredibly simple. The unit is about 10% smaller than the older thermostat. Looks fantastic, and is intuitive to use. Using the free app, I can easily control the temperature in my home for the optimal comfort of my papillon dogs while I’m at work or running errands. If you’ve ever used a smart thermostat or associated app, you’ll have no trouble at all adapting to this unit. The large fonts, vibrant touch screen, and simple interface makes it an easy unit for young or old to easily understand and operate. There are some menus, but they really aren’t a daily thing you need to mess with. It’s literally set and forget. It’s got all the latest tech for smartly analyzing if people are home, adjusting temperatures to save money and “go green” and be a hub for the latest smarthome protocols like Thread. Works flawlessly with my Apple and Google products. This really is a “one size fits all” device.

I’ve had a smart thermostat for several years now that I genuinely loved. It was completely reliable, super easy to use, and just worked day in and day out. This is a huge deal because most standard homes only have older two- or four-wire setups and **don't** have a dedicated "common" (C-wire) to constantly power a smart thermostat. Having this adapter included means you won't have to tear open your walls or buy an extra kit just to get stable power. ### Why It Misses the Mark (Especially Compared to My Old One) * **Frustrating Touch Controls:** Adjusting the temperature right on the screen is way too finicky. Having larger fingers makes it even worse, since you have to try and drag a tiny dot along a curved line—it often takes several frustrating tries just to get it to register your touch. My old thermostat was much more intuitive. * **Clunky App and Setup:** Getting everything connected and configured through the phone app feels like unnecessary guesswork. But coming from a smart thermostat that I genuinely loved and trusted for years, this one feels like a step backward in pure ease of use. I definitely miss the simplicity of my old device.
