I like the design of the MP3 player, the big buttons are usefull, although some surface texrture can be added to inprove is operation. like the fast start up the rechargable battery and the clip. it starts where you left it at. for the same price I could get a nots as good looking MP3 but with radio and voice recording.

I'm not an electronics type of person and I don't care for fancy gadgets, so all I wanted was a very simple music player I could casually use while I go for my daily runs. Overall, this a good product at an amazing price. It's rechargable, plays the music, and is pretty easy to use- all for $20. The archos clipper seems durable so far (had it for one month) and the headphones are holding up well to moderate sweat. The only problem is that they dont stay on well, but I use rubber bands to secure them to my ears when I jog. The clipper stays on your clothes and is very small, portable, and convenient. The only problem is the ease of use. When I bought the product and put music on it, it started beeping, a very common problem with this mp3 player... it freezes up and just beeps. However, I fixed the problem my converting all my music to mp3 and putting it on itunes first, then dragging it to the archos clipper. itunes seemed to have separated the corrupt/damaged music files from the good ones. So if you have problems, try that. Also, the response and data transfer when your syncing it is very slow, and the button controls are also slow and hard to navigate. The features are limited, but thats okay since its supposed to be a basic mp3 player. The battery life and memory storage is good enough for anyone. Besides the beeping problem, which is easily fixable, the problems with this product aren't anything major. Overall, this is a great and inexpensive product for casual listeners who simply want some music to listen to while on the go. As long as you avoid or fix the beeping problem, this product gets the job done. Definitely a great value on Best Buy's part.

I bought the Archos Clipper for my father because he needed a simple, inexpensive MP3 player while he recovers from heart surgery in the hospital. Pros: Good battery life, seems like the claim of 11 hours of continuous playback is close to the mark. Easy set up, simply connect using the provided cable and start dragging music onto the device. Can use both MP3 & WMA formats. Built-in clip seems strong enough for most activity and the device is lightweight. Supports two playback modes, shuffle and sequential (playback is alphabetical by Folder then File name). Relatively large control buttons. Has a button/key lock. Cons: The ON/OFF process may pose a problem for non-tech or elderly users. (Hold Play/Pause to turn on and hold Play/Pause for 8 seconds to turn off.) The indicator LED is tiny and on the side which may go unnoticed. The interface cable is specific to the Clipper which connects through the headphone jack out to USB. (Don't lose this cable!) Does not include a wall charger. Controls could use some refinement, as it usually takes a minute or two of fumbling around just to get music to start playing. Does not allow for playlist creation/playback. All in all, this is a solid purchase considering the price point. If you just need a simple MP3 player without the extras, you can't go wrong with this one.

Works essentially like the Shuffle but half the price. The only caveat is that the button layout needs getting used to since it's not intuitive at all. Would be nice if there were a power button as well. (Play/pause seems to function as the power control.) That being said, it's light and compact. Synching is much easier since it's just a file drag-and-drop as opposed to having to use the annoyingly proprietary itunes. Not sure about the durability since I've only had it for a month but so far so good.
