Satisification
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had to wait at least 5 days until I submit my review. Speaking of battery I can say after fully charge cycle it's still 100% and it is a day number 5 working 24 hours. Wireless and Motion deretction is smart that can give a notification by sending an email to inform there is something moving close to the camera, resolution is very good as I tested it day and night time and also its smartphone based-app is so helpful and takes you through setup and configuration with several options like rename you camera, turn alarm on and iPhone touch id sign in feature. At night you can adjust camera brightness for a better picture clarity. I'm a 100% satisfied that I can monitor my mouse frind and back remotley. I recommend this security camera to a friend.

Outstanding Basic Video Monitoring System
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is an outstanding basic video monitoring system. It is self-contained and requires only a local Wi-Fi and an Internet connection to achieve full functionality. It is easy to install (no wires!) and to connect to your Wi-Fi system. It is also very easy to relocate the cameras, and frequently if desired, as you plan your final installation locations. Once connected to your Wi-Fi, the system can display video from each camera remotely on demand, or monitor each camera's range of vision for 'motion' detection, and automatically initiate video collection and recording, both locally on-site at the base station, and remotely on the NetGear-provided free 7-day internet-based rolling storage. Motion-detected allerts are sent to the system owner's cellphone via "alert" messages, and the video can be accessed remotely immediately. Camera battery life is very good - in normal use cameras will run for 4-6 months without recharging, which is relatively fast and easy to accomplish. Video quality is very good and the built-in infrared illuminators allow the cameras to work quite well in total darkness. This is an outstanding video surveilance system by itself, which can be even more powerful when it coexists with a typical monitored basic alarm system. This is the best system of its type available today. As delivered, the system has several standard operational modes which will serve most users needs, and it also provides an easy to use "rules-based" programming function to allow users to create their own tailored rules for what will happen at various times and in each camera location. Great flexibility. Overall: Outstanding System!

Great monitoring system
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We use this at a business we own and love it. Had some previous systems that didn't deliver at all. This is good quality video. Provides alerts when there's motion. Good field of vision. Holds battery for a month even with pretty heavy motion. Easy to remove and charge because they're attached via magnets. My one fear was someone coming and stealing it because it's just on by magnet. But we placed them high and I'm not sure anyone has even noticed they're there. Totally wireless system and no issue with wi-fi not reaching the camera from the base station. Ability to go in and review videos. Good options on microphone/speaker sensitivity, brightness, picture quality to save battery. Pleased with performance and would buy again and/or add to the Arlo system. Complaint: nearly EVERY time I try to pull up a camera, there is an app update I must go through. And then I have to log in again. If I ever had to react quickly to something I was alerted to, it would take me minutes, not seconds. Very annoying. But the ability to monitor my business across town at any time with good quality video? Love it.

4 stars for now, 5 if they fix two way audio
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Firstly I agree with most of the reviews and found the Pro system fairly easy plug and play and the features for the most part functioning as advertised. That said one feature is not working properly and this is attested to by everyone who has checked it on Netgear's own Arlo forums: The two way audio does NOT in fact function usably from 90% of client devices. Specifically, as of late Oct 2016, latest firmware, the output from the camera's speaker is extremely low volume. I tested it on all four cameras and max output at 100% is 20 to 21 dB at one meter/yard, which is a whisper, for practical purposes, barely audible to inaudible. By contrast my Arlo Q Plus camera speaker output is 45 dB at one yard. On the Arlo forums it turns out the only people who are not having this serious problem are persons who use a laptop. Everyone else has the issue. The client devices on the Pro box, the only client deivces pictured in fact are iphones which do not work properly for two way audio. The video promotional material is iPad, which also does not work. The website client dives are ipad and iphone. so the initial Netgear response that "not all client devices can be expected to work" is kinda bogus, since all the client devices they themselves picture as examples are the ones currently not working for this heavily promoted feature. I have good confidence they will address the issue. But if you are buying for that feature to use on your iphone, ipad, or most android phones, I woudl wait until you see reports on Netgear's Arlo forums that it in fact has been addressed. As I noted all the other features work well. Compared to my older Arlo system the rechargable batteries promise to end the only real downside. The motion detection is still imperfect and delayed, but is substantially improved.

Amazingly simple
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I just purchased the Arlo Pro with 4 cameras and base station from Best Buy yesterday. I had already ordered a security system from Amcrest, but my electrician told me that he couldn't install it in my house due to lack of an attic and crawl space in 1/2 the house. So I then ordered a WiFi system from Amcrest but those cameras still needed to be wired for power. A colleague of mine told me how she had just purchased the Arlo system and was telling me about all the great features. So I read all the reviews online and then went and purchased it. The Arlo system was SOOOOoooo easy to set up and it's completely wireless! No cords at all! It took me about 10 minutes to set up the base station and sync two of the cameras, and that time included taking the product out of the box and unwrapping the base station and cameras and installing the batteries. There were like 5 easy steps and I was up and running! While it's not constant recording, it will start recording when the motion detector senses movement. And it kicks in fast. I used Ring.com for about a year and was SO disappointed because the unit would not sense motion until the person was walking away from my front door. :( And I've been leary of WiFi systems since then. This motion detector kicks in very quickly and you can change the sensitivity as well (from 0 to 100). So, while it is not recording continuously, you can still click a button on the screen to see live action. It's very cool. It's also cool that I can set the recording time from 10 seconds to 120 seconds. Right now I have it on 30 seconds and that's plenty of time. And I can set the quality of the video to 3 different settings. I'm extremely pleased with this system -- I love being able to move these cameras around, and the quality of the video is good even on the middle quality setting. I have not tried the best quality setting because this setting seems to be a nice mixture of quality and use of battery power. Currently both cameras are on steps of my staircase, one looking at the back door and one looking at the front door. So I'm experimenting with where I'm going to get the best angles, and I'll experiment with cameras outside as well. As someone who has tried 3 different security systems and failed, this fourth system is a clear winner.

Great for beginner, no wires is better than expect
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. No wires is nicer than I expected. The battery life varies based on number of recordings. One camera lasted about a month before having to be recharged but this camera records several minutes per hour because of the high traffic location. Will consider replacing this one with a wired version. The remaining cameras are still running strong after a month to varying degrees. The least active camera is on record to do 6 mo. or more before a necessary recharge. Lets be real when it comes to home security cameras.......remote viewing is a top priority. If there were some dependable secure hard wired options for under 1k that had dependable remote viewing I would have probably gone that route BUT - Netgear is a GREAT brand in my opinion and they got this one right. The app works very well which is very important. Had little to no issues with the app. Would and already have recommended this system to friends and family. I wasn't all about a no wires system before I purchased this one and I have had a few others, but it is quite nice to put one screw in the wall for the mount and then set this camera up. I would recommend the post mounts for some locations - the included ball is limited to certain applications.

Great Product but expect some bugs
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have owned this camera set for over a month. Highlights: -Easy to setup. -Easy to install camera mounts. -Cameras seem quality built and hopefully last for a while. -Magnetic mounts work well. -These cameras will mount to almost anything metal and you don't need the mounts if you don't want. -Addicting and you will find yourself checking cameras often. -Mobile App/ web based access works well and is easy to navigate and manipulate. -I love the geo fencing option of being able to arm the cameras automatically when I leave my house. -Having rechargeable batteries make these cameras like charging your cellphone....awesome feature! -Great video quality day and night. -7 days of free cloud storage seems very adequate. If you want you can download the video off the cloud and keep a copy if you wish. -Microphones on cameras are super sensitive and can hear things your ears might not pickup on. Example I can hear water dripping off the roof..yeah its that sensitive! -Alarm is deafening and will scare a burglar off quickly! Lowlights: -These cameras do not operate well, if at all, at temperatures below 10 F degrees. -I bought the 4 pack and one of the four cameras did not work. This seems to be common problem on the community forum. I exchanged the bad camera at Best Buy and they were happy to do it for me. -Don't buy these cameras for the two way communication over the cameras. It sucks and you will be disappointed. It's a whisper when you try it. Not really a usable option at this point.

Security System
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had my review for 4 days now. When I got it, it sat in the box for a day. Then I took everything out the box and spread it out on the dinner table. The next day I read the directions and looked at youtube videos of the system. After the 3rd day I was ready to install. The install literally took; 2 minutes to hook up the base unit. 2 minutes to sync cameras. 3 minutes to download and sign in to Arlo app. What took the longest, no joke was to figure out where I wanted to put 2 additional cameras in my house. I already have a alarm system and 1 camera in my house. So these are additional. Once we decided where they would go, we set them and it was a go. So, Setup, easy peasy. 10mins top. if you can get it up and running in 10 mins call Netgear. Features, the one I love the most is the APP. Seriously, once you are up and running you will always be connected to your home. They have a fingerprint sign in, so no remembering another password. I've named my system and cameras so I know what I'm looking at. Once you press live, after a few seconds you are looking at your home or yard. Real Time. I only have like a 2 second lag so I feel confident in what I'm looking at is actually there. Once thing I'm needing to get used to it the different modes. I made a custom mode for motion only, not motion and sound. So when I'm not home, if my dog moves, I get a 10 second clip and a warning of motion in house. At first the warning are cute, I would check and my dog would be getting comfy on the couch, then if you twitched I got another message and another and another. So, I will need to update those messages and settings but I do what to know whats moving and who it is when im not home. When I am home, I just disarm the motion alarm and no more messages. I tried out the alarm on the base unit and I was 1 room away and it was SUPER LOAD AND ANNOYING. so I figured if I'm viewing live feed of my home, so someone breaking in or roaming around and they shouldn't be there, I turn on the alarm, if my first alarm wasn't set and they run out not knowing which alarm they tripped. One funny thing before I end. I decided to look in on my dog and see what he was doing. Of course he's on the couch but he's licking it, not sure why, so I press the mic button on the app and tell him to stop. He looks up confused, I laugh and he stops. Yes, you can talk on the mic miles away and you can here inside your home, not sure see. Of course the sound isn't coming from a bose speaker but they that's cool. Over all if you are looking for an easy security system that wont break the bank, this is it. It has some interesting features. The good the bad and ugly but its worth a try. only bad I found was the wall mounts are confusing and the screws that come with it look weak. easy to replace though for comfort of mind.

Amazing Video Quality
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I recently have been researching for a replacement Security Camera System. Ours that is almost 8 years old, has seen better days. It's monitors station display has not worked for four years and has had to be connected to a host pc that then I could remotely view via Google Remote Desktop, It's motion detection system has never worked and the video quality was fuzzy at best. It has worked for our application, but we are ready for a new solution. In-steps the Arlo PRo Wireless Security two camera system, by Netgear. The technology in this particular market has completely changed, not only in how they are monitored, but how they interface with the web and how they are actually powered. This unit arrived for my to review at the perfect time. The packaging was incredibly put together, I would not want to have to put it back together. These cameras have two options for power, one by supplied rechargeable battery, or by direct power via the supplied micro usb charging cable. The installation procedure is super easy, from the one screw attachable half sphere to the app and browser based software. You don't have to use their supplied half sphere mount, each camera has a 1/4-20 nut socket to allow you to mount the camera using a typical camera mount, especially when you need to hang or side mount your camera like I did here on my garage. This two camera package comes with two batteries, two camera mounts, one charging cable, one wall charger, the base station with it's power cord, network cable, and one window decal. These cameras work quite well, have crisp definition, and great low light clarity. I actually decided to direct wire these cameras and not use the batteries as I have power available in both cases. If you are looking for a easy and excellent solution for video surveillance, these Arlo packages are what I would suggest. There are different packages and several accessories to choose from.

A Very Nice System!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I think that the biggest selling points for this system are two things I didn't understand until I saw the units out of the box. The first thing I liked was the magnetic ball-and-socket mounting mechanism - it only needs a single screw to adhere to a wall and allows the camera to be positioned very easily (and the magnet is very strong). The second thing I liked was that the units are completely wireless - I had thought they just communicated wirelessly but they don't even have a wired power source - they use rechargeable batteries that only need recharging after several months. The camera units look nice and are pretty small (see attached pictures below) - they communicate with a base unit that is connected, in turn, directly to my router. The cameras only record when they detect motion and alert me via email when that happens. Recorded images can also be saved to a thumb drive attached to the base unit. The images are sharp even in dim lighting and the units even record well with little or no light thanks to infrared lights on the units. The cameras are advertised as being indoor/outdoor - I am only using mine inside so I can't speak to how well they work outside. I have the two-camera setup but Arlo has additional cameras available for purchase individually in case I want to add to my security system. Finally, the application on my smart phone works beautifully - I can arm and disarm individual cameras remotely and can access a live feed from my phone any time I want to. I can also look at movement-triggered videos remotely from a web page. The system can also be setup to trigger an alarm based on motion detection. I'm no longer even aware of the cameras in the house now - they are pretty inconspicuous. I think they're great.

Very easy to setup, install and check cameras
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I did alot of research before buying them....I didn't want to invest in something that I was going to be having a hard time installing plus paying a monthly fee. If u want to keep the videos for more than the 7 free days they offer then u do have to pay a monthly fee of $10 or $100 yearly. U can always download the videos the ones u want and not pay. It does give u an option if u would like to download and take a snapshot as well, just a click away very easy to do that. It's Very easy to setup, install and manage each camera on ur phone. You can be watching more than one camera live at the same time plus each camera has audio u can speak and hear the other person. Life battery on my camera is doing good. I live in a very busy corner Street and the life battery on the camera I have there in 52% and it's been a month I install them. And the other cameras they have 70% . love these cameras planning to get. Cameras for my parents house something they can keep an eye and it's very easy for them to use on there phone. I do recommend these cameras 100%

Just what I needed
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. What a great camera. I was surprised how easy it was to set up and install, I did everything on my own while my husband was at work. The customer service support was great and answered all my questions. The quality is wonderful, I love that you can see at night along with day. The zoom is a fantastic thing as well. I had researched this camera for over a year a now and decided to get it Black Friday, glad I did, best purchase I ever made and the peace of mind that comes with it, you can't put a price on that. It's easy to check the house periodically throughout the day, and I love that it records when movement is detected. Great camera for the price, now I'm looking into more cameras. I would definitely recommend this camera for easy use, great quality, outstanding customer service and the peace of mind you'll get once your home is all set up.

Easy set-up and great video
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this item back in the beginning of 2017, I have to be honest I had some pretty low expectations due to it being a wireless system. However, I have been pleasantly surprised over the past 6+ months with it. Overall, the cameras are very easy to sync with the base station and the mounting hardware is very user friendly. In total I bought the four cameras and even have on set-up over 200 feet away from the base station with no issues at all. Picture quality and battery life are better than expected as well. All in all, if you have good-great internet reliability this is an ideal product. One negative against this system is that the alarm siren could be a bit louder but lets be honest if someone is close enough for the siren to go off its unlikely they will leave anyways.

Security cameras without running cables
||Posted . Owned for more than 2 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We have 2 Arlo Pro systems. The system was fairly easy to set up. On par with most wireless device setups, easier setup than most wireless printers. As long as you are conscious of signal strength and limitations of wireless device distance from the base - which WILL be affected by the type of building materials between your base and the cameras (especially if the base is indoors and the cameras are outdoors) the system will work wonderfully. There are a lot of features, including the ability to ignore parts of what the camera sees. For instance, if your camera is viewing your back yard and you do not want an alert when your sprinkler comes on, you can tell it ignore that area. Also, your video captures are sent to the cloud, so there is no DVR in your home (or business) for someone to search out and take or destroy to cover their tracks. This system has microphones to capture audio and a speaker so you can speak to someone standing at your front door from anywhere. Since it is wireless, you do not have to drill holes and run cables. The cameras are very simple to remove and charge, but the magnetic mount is plenty strong enough to keep the camera from falling, even in storms with high winds. This system was a great value for all that it does and the flexibility to move your cameras any time you want.

VERY easy setup and install
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great system period. Plug it in to power and router, download the app, sync your cameras and your ready. Picture quality is fantastic even in the pitch dark. Getting notifications while away from the house really great and listening to what the cam is recording is as well (our UPS driver tends to talk to himself a lot) ha! Being able to watch any cam live and talk with whoever (our cat most of the time) is the best. The magnetic mounts are strong and efficient. The batteries come fully charged from the factory and we've been running our system for about 2 weeks and they still have a full charge! The 4 pack Pro comes with 1 outdoor mount which involved putting in 2 screws. Great piece of mind and worth every penny. Do it.

I feel safe with these cameras
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Unfortunately my home was broken into and I did not have an alarm system or cameras so I came to Best Buy to find anything I could to help protect my home. The sales associate was so knowledgeable on these Arlo cameras so I went ahead and bought the two pack. I love that they are rechargeable and how easy it is to recharge them. I also love how easy the set up was. The picture quality is great and I love that you can speak through the cameras which is great if you have kids at home alone. They have an app you can download to your smart phone so you can arm, disarm, and watch your home all from your phone. These cameras have really helped to make my home feel safe again. I highly suggest them.

Great product
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got the set with one cameras and loved it so much I went and got a second camera, one for our front gate and one for the barn to make sure the goats are ok. The cameras work amazing, I’m so happy with them. The camera in the barn isn’t set to record when it detects motion so the battery last a really long time. The one at the gate records motion and the battery is still good, I charge that one about every three weeks. Yesterday I caught on camera a Amazon deliver man chucking two package over the gate at the dogs who then destroyed the packages. The camera at the front gate is pretty far from the house but still has just enough WiFi for it to work with no problems.

Some early bugs, but a nice improvement.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have owned an original Arlo system since the summer of 2015. I have 11 of the original wireless cameras that I have used for over a year as well as one Arlo Q and one Arlo Q Plus. I also have DropCam/NestCam cameras, Axis, NetAtmo Welcome, DLink and a traditional coax camera DVR system. I know, I'm over the top, but these are deployed on three different properties and I'm both intentionally using a multivendor implementation and evaluating systems for future deployments. I purchased the Arlo Pro immediately when it became available and just set up two of the cameras this week. So far I like the Pro features and functions except that I don't appear to be able to set the recording time on the rules. The audio from the camera to my mobile device seems to be very good. I haven't tried to talk to anyone yet, so that is yet to be seen. Others have reported it is very low volume when trying to speak to someone through the camera. I do think the motion detection is a bit better than with the original Arlo system. I like the base unit better in terms of lights, buttons and added features. I have not yet tried local storage. That's next on my list. I like the fact that I can charge the battery in the camera OR buy extra batteries and a separate charger, so I can keep all of my cameras running while I'm recharging depleted batteries. did I read that there may be a future solar panel accessory for charging the battery during the day? In addition to not being able to set the recording duration, I also see notifications that the temperature is too low and battery charging has been turned off....when the camera is NOT charging at all...it is just deployed outside and monitoring the house. So this appears to be another programming error that need to get fixed. It is important to remember that there is absolutely no single camera system that is best for all circumstances. The Arlo Pro is a great totally wireless camera for locations where you absolutely need a completely wireless camera. If you can use a powered or better yet a POE camera where both power and video are wired, you should definitely do that...it is a better solution. But the Arlo and Arlo Pro systems should not be compared directly to powered or wired systems because the two approaches address different sets of problems by design. Even among powered and wired cameras there are system that record locally, in "the cloud" or some combination of the two and there are good reasons to one or the other or both. Enough rambling. Except for some growing pains that should be resolved by Netgear quickly (I hope), the Arlo Pro seems like a nice "big brother" to the original Arlo wireless camera system.
