I wasn't sure about the quality of the cameras being only 720p. I have to say, pretty clear in light and dark rooms. Was very easy to set up and the batteries came fully charged right out of the package. Most of the time you have to charge batteries before use.

So far my Arlo system has been great. The setup is super simple, and the cameras work well. I only had one connection issue on a single camera, due to lack of wifi in the area, not a big deal!

I got this because I wanted a camera that offered motion detection auto-record. The geofencing feature is nice too. When my wife and I leave the area, it automatically arms itself, and disarms when we come back. The downside to this camera is the night vision (IR). I have a Samsung Smartcam HD Pro, and it is much better here. The Arlo doesn't allow much distance to its night vision. Other than that, the batteries last a long time, it's scalable, and has decent features.

Love the wireless aspect, but was concerned about battery life, and for good reason. I am averaging about 5 weeks, which means grab the ladder and re-aim the cameras every time or spend $80 a piece for a solar charger. Fine during the summer, could be bad once Ohio winter kicks in! Setup is a breeze! Tweaking the aiming and settings to capture everything while balancing battery life and audio/video quality takes some time, but it’s fun to play with. Overall, it suits my needs, and I didn’t have to crawl around in my attic or run cables. Time will tell how well it holds up to the elements and how much life I get out of the batteries, but I am pleased with my purchase.

I got this for my apartment so that I know what's going on when I'm at work. It is very expensive but it gives me peace of mind knowing i can check on my kids anytime. This is easy to set up. The battery life for a single charge depends whether the camera is in high traffic area or not. It takes awhile for the battery to fully charge, I say maybe 2 hours? I wish it can do a fast charge. One of the batteries stopped working after 2 yrs. The whole set up only comes with one charger which is not a good thing. I have to wait for one camera to finish charging before I can charge the other cameras. They have a device that can charge 2 batteries at the same time (you have to take the batteries out of the camera to do this) but it also takes twice as long and it is worth mentioning, you have to buy it separately. It also comes with 4 flimsy magnetic wall mount and one heavy duty one that you screw the camera into. I wish they just supply the 4 heavy duty ones. On the bright side, the fact that you can take out the battery to charge it is a good thing. That is part of the reason I chose this over another popular brand. And when one of the battery stopped working, I can just buy one rather than replacing the whole camera. The pictures/video is clear. The audio is great. You have the ability to talk to people at home. It also stores 7 days worth of video for free. You can pay if you want more. I have been using this for the last 2 years and I'm glad I bought it. I use to keep an on my kids but I have also used it for other purposes.

Overall a great outdoor wireless camera considering other products out there, but not too happy about the lower quality picture compared to the original Arlo. I guess this was a result of keeping the same 720p resolution, but having a wider field of vision. Audio is nice as well as the rechargeable battery, and the algorithm for motion detection is much much much improved. 2 steps forward and 1 step back, in my opinion, but I guess that's still progress.

Overall good product. Mainly does what it's supposed to do. Pros -Easy to install -Motion activated -Good looking equipment -Functional app -Clear picture -Completely wireless Cons -Netgear has bad customer service- my purchase included one faulty camera. I had to argue with Netgear for them to replace. -Motion activated recording- the camera records for 10 seconds when it senses something has moved. However, if there is continuous motion it doesn't continue recording. For example, me walking to my car. It will catch you walking to the car but wont record the car pulling off. When you review your videos you'll only see a person walking to the car. The next recording will show your car gone. Clearly there was motion throughout. -Battery life -Wifi connection - if your connection isnt strong you will have camera viewing issues. If your wifi is out you will not be able to view anything. -Equipment design - my system was white and difficult to hide. -Installing equipment - Though the installation process is a breeze thanks to the magnets, they only include one arm mount. The arm mount is weird too. It can be unscrewed and loosened. I prefer it to be more secure. Good product if you want to spy on your dog or see if your kids are sneaking out the house. Bad product if you truly want to know what's going on at all times.

I purchased this camera system because of thefts in my local area. The SECOND night that I had the cameras online, it alerted me that there was something in its view. At 3am, two guys came to the driveway attempting to take my car! These nut jobs were smart enough to look up and see that they were being watched. It even caught the conversation that they had where one guy was debating whether or not they should try to get my car! The system alerted my phone about 3 seconds after they started to come into the driveway. They turned back leaving my car alone. The only drawback to these cameras is that if you're not at home there is a longer delay in receiving notification of movement on your property. Maybe 20-45 second delay give or take. There are also issues when attempting to view your library online once you receive the alert. Sometimes when I'm out or even at home I will receive a notification on my phone that movement has been recorded and often times it seems like it takes forever to be able to access what movement it captured. Overall the camera has been great and I recommend it for anyone looking to install cameras at home. Set up was easy peasy and you can share viewing access of the cameras with whomever you choose to grant access to. Do not sit and watch live feeds on the cameras for long periods of time as it will drain your battery life significantly! Save watching live feeds for when you see something troubling! Oh and put a camera inside near a main door if you have older kids so that you're aware if they are leaving out or doing naughty things while you're away or at work! It helps! If you have an iPhone 6 or greater you can even talk to the people you're viewing!

I've been on the hunt for a decent security camera for almost a year. I've read hundreds of reviews and finally settled on the Arlo. It wasn't my first choice as several people complained about the battery life but at the time of this review it's been up and running for about a month and my battery life is still at 82% on the first charge. I'll start with the one thing that doesn't work and that's the geofencing. Basically the system can be setup to disarm itself if you are at home based off of you cell phone location. It doesn't work at all. I tried numerous times to set it up but no luck. I've researched and it seems to be an issue with a lot of Arlo customers. It's not a deal breaker by any means but if your going to advertise that your product has a certain feature then it better work. Other than that it performs as it should and has met my expectations. Just last week I had a package delivered and I received a notification that someone was on my front porch. I turned on live mode and was able to communicate with the UPS driver while I was at work. My wife and I are able to monitor who is coming in and out of the house if we are away for the weekend. I was initially going to go with a wired system but didn't want to mess with running the wiring throughout the house. With the Arlo system it's completely wireless and it comes with a week of free storage which was another benefit. I didn't want to have to add another monthly fee. I would recommend this system.

The Arlo Pro wireless camera system was easy to install. I like the alerts on my phone, the ability to see and communicate with outside. The system has a couple quirks; lag time between sensing motion and actually starting to record, sensor has limited distance for sensing motion, but images are clear. The magnetic mounts seem to hold firmly, although someone could pull cameras off if they wanted even knowing they would be on video. The BB sale price was good and I would recommend Arlo as an inexpensive wireless system

Dismal battery, motion detection & support!

I am pretty tech savy, and have a home automation / surveillance system from Lowes, which I am quite happy with. After doing a lot of research, between Arlo and RIng, I went with the Arlo Pro system. I liked the idea of being wireless and having 2-way audio. Firstly on the positive-side, set-up was easy, and despite some customers reporting a significant lag, I did not have that issue, as I have good bandwidth, range and speed from my ISP. After that however, the problems are many and significant. Motion detection, no matter what the setting is poor, poor, poor! Where my other cameras had no issue in detecting motion, Arlo Pro failed - even with dog and myself running around the yard, and I can only configure the cameras to pick up motion from under 10-12 ft. Using audio detection outside is not at all an option due to environmental noise. The picture quality of the recordings can only be good at the expense of the battery - I'm at 50% on one camera only on the 4th day of limited use. The audio from the camera isn't bad, but to the camera- had a lot of static, and speech is hard to decipher. I could only see this system being good for a small indoor space, but that's not at all how it's presented, and it certainly hasn't performed anywhere near where Arlo Ad's said it would. The real kicker for me however, was the beyond dismal customer service I received when I used customer service to report, and try and recover videos which disappeared from the cloud, before I could get the chance to download them. This is a known and documented issue, reported by other Arlo customers, yet support tried to argue that I or someone else had deleted them, when in fact, I had not. I also had to explain several times ( not kidding ) that yesterday was the day before today's date. I couldn't decide if this was stupidity on the support rep's part, or if he was in another time-zone which was significantly ahead of EST- or both!! Yet, I was the one that was getting treated like an imbecile, even though I think I was more than patient.. I was also totally dismissed when I reported what I still believe could be a significant bug in their software platform. This was by far the most frustrating, dismissive and condescending customer service experience that I have ever had. Not once an apology, even when I expressed my unhappiness, rather an "oh well, we can't help you " type attitude. Arlo - I hope you read this review, so you understand why I will be returning your product. Otherwise, I'm left with 4 very expensive ornaments. I am also considering publishing the transcript of the support session to YouTube, since it was more than bad, and I think people need to be aware of what they are in for, since seeing is believing!

This security camera system is perfect for placing cameras in locations that can't be wired. The installation was just about flawless (once I realized I could see the camera on my phone to aim it), and has worked perfectly since installation.

Picture quality, video setting, motion detection, all aspects that Arlo has put together is great. UI for app is easy to use as well. The only suggestion for improvement is to enable the capability to push the alarm to the individual cameras.

Great system, a little pricey, but that is made up for by not having to pay a monthly fee. It has been great to keep on eye on things around the house. its great that I can arm/disarm/geofence and set an alarm off. Helps add piece of mind. Super easy to set and the app is easy to work with to adjust settings to your liking. Some have commented about not being 1080, has not been an issue for me, video is plenty fine to see who is at the door.

Best (OTC) indoor/outdoor wireless Camera on the market. Can be mounted magneticly (Very Strong), on an adjustable fixed mount or simply set on a shelf or table. Very good quality video's. Good night vision. You can designate three separate areas on the viewed screen as specific motion sensor trigger points. Two way speakers. Will save the past seven days of video's for free (up to five cameras). Well over thirty various settings available. Able to differentiate between people, animals, motion (trees blowing in the wind) etc. Operates via Arlo app anywhere in the world as long as you have an internet connection. There are three battery settings, along with other variables, that will determine how long each battery charge will last. Highly recommend purchasing a double battery charger & two extra batteries. This will allow you to simply replace batteries in the camera's without having to unmount them and therefore only missing about 15 seconds of recording time. This way you will always have two batteries fully charged and ready to go. Also recommend buying "skin" for added protection outdoors (approx $15 3pk). Only drawbacks are the 2 way speaker communication has a 5-7 second delay. However, I was able to talk to neighbors watching my place from over 1,500 miles away. How cool is that. The other is that the camera begins recording video 3-5 seconds after motion is detected (slight delay). I absolutely love that I can move any camera, anywhere at anytime in seconds. You'll be amazed at all the "activities" that occur when others think your not looking! Best Buy has an Excellent 2 year warranty program that is extremely gracious (about the price of a single camera). Overall I Highly recommend this product and have enjoyed the 24/7 servailance of my property and neighborhood.

This camera system is fantastic. If you’re looking for a quick install system with great video quality and reliable monitoring app, look no further. The 2 way audio is very convenient and the allowable range is better than expected. I enjoy how easy the app was to use and being able to give admin access to another user with their own account so I don’t have to give out my login info. My only issue with this system is that it only comes with one exterior mount and it just screws in. I’d feel a lot safer if someone had to do more work to get cameras then just unscrewing. I actively recommend this product: simple but elegant.
