Amazing Step-Up in Performance
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Same look but a phenomenal increase in performance. We've used Arlos since the first models. We greatly appreciate the consistent appearance and ease of installation. This 6th generation improves range, clarity, transmission, setup, and battery life. As said elsewhere, no one does WiFi and its benefits better than NETGEAR.

Arlo pro 1 is top tier
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. With 2k HDR video, replaceable rechargeable battery and an amazing app these cameras are what you need to be looking at if your looking to finally protect your home. Arlo security accessories have really come into their own when it comes to quality and value. The new 6th gen pro lineup this year is a step above the last gen in many ways. If it would be your first or even 6th security camera it’s still an absolutely great product. These usually are made or broken by how good the app is. I've had multiple Arlo products in the past and I can say it's specifically because of how good the app is. Everything just works exactly how you think it should it's very intuitive and that to me is worth 99% of one of these style of products cameras or home security because if you can't use it it's not worth anything. All of the motion detection and alerts are always spot on and accurate. There's a lot of settings to ensure that you don't get false alerts or alarms when unnecessary so once you really tune it in it's perfect. This camera comes with a 30 day trial of Arlo secure plan which includes the cloud storage for your footage. There is no local SD recording on this model but if you're subscribing to the plan it's not necessary anyway and is still very affordable compared to competitors while providing even more value. The battery power on this model lasts a LONG time and is also hot swappable for recharging making it very simple if you get a second battery, but even if you just use the included one it charges fast enough not to worry about it. With a 160° field of view, the 2K HDR video quality, color night vision, dual band wifi to ensure you keep connection, excellent battery power, the ability to add on solar panels if you're not a fan of the battery situation and a very secure easy to use app this is one of the best out there.

Security in a Single Device
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.[PROS] Quick Setup: This is my first Arlo product, and the setup process was simple. I was up and running in about 5 minutes since I charged the battery prior and replaced a device on an existing mount. Crispy Video: Video quality is about as sharp as they come. 2K isn't 4k, but I'm able to make out the finer details of people and objects especially during the day time. Night time vision is very solid when the camera is placed to a moderately lit area. Accurate Capture: From vehicles to people, this camera picks it all up. I found myself very impressed with the various detection elements and how well it highlighted the items found. Lengthy Battery Life: I placed my camera in a heavy traffic area and so far I'm only at 97% life after a few days of usage. This is a very encouraging sign especially with the advanced detection features working overtime. [CONS] Charging Limitation: The battery can be charged through the camera's USB C port or through a charging station. There's no port to directly charge it. I don't find myself worried about the battery life, but I would prefer to avoid needing to purchase an additional add-on like a Solar Panel or an additional mechanism to give the battery some juice. [MIXED BAG] Response Time: Although I found myself very pleased with the functionality of the camera, live feed takes a few more seconds than I would like to sharpen up the video. Its not slow, but I did wish it was a bit more speeder. However, I do understand that wireless connectivity is always based on distance and the amount of walls and objects in the way. [CONCLUSION] The Arlo Pro 2K Cam is a fine piece of security equipment. Notifications are quick, video quality is pristine, and detection is accurate. Overall, I would recommend this camera.

Good camera. Terrible business practices.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Upfront, I'll say the biggest pain point for this camera system is the app. It shoves ads down your throat if you're not subscribed and just isn't very much fun to use. The camera itself works well enough. Even at 2K quality, the picture is nice and everything is easy enough to set up. I just hate the app a lot. Setup was straight forward. The Arlo app walks you through the whole process pretty well. If you have a smart hub already, you have the option of connecting this camera to it or to your own wifi network. Since I already had a hub, it was nice to be able to connect this to that as well. The app is not fun to use at all. Before I activated the subscription trial that comes with this camera, there were ads everywhere trying to get you to buy more stuff or subscribe to one of their plans. Like an banner ad was just always on top of the app. Then in your events, another banner ad would show up while scrolling through events. I'm pretty sure I remember a couple of large square ads as well. Navigating the app, in general, is not incredibly intuitive either and it was just not an enjoyable experience. That was just soured even more by being hit over the head at every tap with "BUY MORE!". Speaking of buy more, there's two subscription tiers you can subscribe to. One for $20/mo and another for $30/mo. They both include unlimited cameras which is nice if you have a bunch of Arlo cameras. The extra $10/mo gets your 24/7 monitoring and a subscription to their Arlo Safe Family app. But wait, there's more! If you want continuous, 24/7 recording, that's going to cost you extra as well. Another $15/mo... PER CAMERA. Your camera also needs to be always plugged in and support continuous recording. I'm pretty sure this one does but I'm not subscribing to find out. The camera itself is pretty good. It's 2K resolution still looks pretty nice next to the Arlo 4K cameras I have. Battery life is nice and if you have charging station (sold separately or included with the 4K 3-camera bundle) you can always have an extra battery waiting to get swapped when the camera starts to run low. It's a little strange that there's a setting for color night vision but you can't use it if you turn the spotlight off. So, essentially, their idea of "color night vision" is just "shine a bright, visible light on it". Homekit is also supported so you can add this camera (or your whole hub) to your Home app on iOS. HomeKit Secure Video isn't supported, though, so you only have access to the live feeds. You'll still have to navigate the app when you want to check some clips. Overall, I think you can shop around a little bit before pulling the trigger on this one. I was really turned off by all of the ads inside the app I need to control this product I already bought. If this doesn't bother you, maybe you'll be fine with these cameras. They do work pretty well and are simple to set up. But maybe look around for some other cameras that don't appear to want to squeeze every last dime out of you first.

Amazing Wireless Security Camera
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall experience I have been using the Arlo Pro one-camera wireless security system for some time, and it has performed very well. Video quality and motion detection are noticeably improved and consistently precise. The initial setup was straightforward. I fully charged the battery before installation, and it has remained in use since then. The camera integrates seamlessly with Amazon Alexa, Google Home, and Samsung SmartThings. Set up and first impressions. Installation was easy. I connected the camera to my dual-band wireless network, inserted the fully charged, swappable battery, mounted the unit, and had it running within minutes. The long-lasting battery has set a positive expectation for day-to-day reliability. Video quality and detection The camera records in HDR with a wide 160° field of view. I can discern facial features, vehicle models, and even small objects such as keys. Motion detection is more accurate than what I have used in the past, and the automatic zoom and tracking features keep subjects centered without extra effort. Intelligent alerts and search I appreciate the ability to tailor alerts to situations that matter in my household, such as the garage door opening or the cat jumping around. Application experience and real-time control Through the Arlo Secure app, I receive motion alerts in real time, view live videos, use up to twelve-times digital zoom, activate the integrated spotlight, speak and listen through two-way audio, and trigger the siren remotely. Color night vision significantly improves low-light footage compared with traditional grayscale recordings. Emergency response while away One particularly thoughtful feature allows me to contact emergency services from the camera’s location, rather than my phone's location. With a single tap, I can reach police, fire, or medical responders and send pre-filled details such as gate codes. This is an excellent design choice for moments when every second matters, and I am not at home. Power and battery The swappable, high-efficiency battery system is well-conceived. For hard-to-reach placements or high-traffic areas, the extended battery life helps maintain continuous coverage. Because the battery is swappable, I can keep a charged spare on hand and avoid downtime. Conclusion The Arlo Pro has been a dependable upgrade: clear video, intelligent detection, simple installation, strong real-time controls, and meaningful emergency features. If you want premium protection without a complicated setup, this camera delivers. The flexible battery system and robust smart-home integrations make it an excellent choice for a busy household.

A Solid camera with great quality video
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Arlo Pro 2k camera is a great way to provide video security in your house. The 2K video is very clear and provides 160-degree Field of view and has an integrated spotlight and great color night vision. The spotlight is fairly bright and seems to assist in the color night vision. Battery life in the Pro 2k camera has been decent and you can easily swap the batteries if you purchase more. Mine have been installed for about 2 weeks now and the battery is down about 40 percent and mine is in a very high traffic area. I believe I will get about 2 to 3 months out of a single charge in my location. I was very happy with the mounting options that come in this box as you are provided a proper articulating screw mount and I believe it is warranted at this price point. Another feature that these cameras have is a siren and the ability to two-way talk to someone on the other side. The volume of each of these leaves something to be desired and they are basically useless in my opinion. Arlo has come a long way in the installation and set up of these cameras. I used to always have problems with the set-up process, but they have really streamlined it, and it works perfectly. Remote viewing of your camera’s is probably about 3-5 seconds delayed when I tested it out, and the initial connection could take about 5 to 10 seconds to start up in the app. I have been happy with the results thus far. Overall, I really like having these cameras and I do subscribe to the Arlo Secure Multi-Camera plan. This covers all the cameras that I have 12 of them overall. Recently a price increase made this plan very expensive, and I may drop down to a cheaper plan or the free plan when my year is up. You do get a free 30-day trial that comes with this camera so you can try out everything and go from there. This allows you to have one camera set up for package detection (front door) and all of the cameras can detect Vehicle, person, or animal. I find this detection to be accurate for the most part and you are also given a 60-day cloud storage option as well. I believe Arlo still has the free plan which includes 7 days of storage, but no smart detection.

Compact but really delivers!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Arlo Pro1 wireless 2X camera offers a 160 degree field of view and 2K high dynamic range video. This allows it to reproduce crisp details with bright whites, and dark blacks - and even facial recognition. It's compact - only 3" x 2" x 3" and comes with a simple mounting bracket, allowing you to mount it just about anywhere, at just about any angle. The battery is easily recharged but lasts up to 8 months on a single charge! It can operate in temperatures from -4 to 113 degrees (F). It features color and infrared black & white night vision and has a built-in spotlight and microphone. The camera has a built-in digital zoom that can be accessed via the app allowing you to zoom up to 12 times the original size to see even greater detail. Using the "zones" feature within the app, you can highlight up to 5 areas in the camera's view where you want to receive notifications. You can also adjust the audio, video, night vision, and light setting making it truly customizable. There's a built-in siren that can be set to trigger automatically or manually within the app. You also have the ability to set the alarm to "home" or "away" to protect your home inside and out. There is also an automation feature that allows you to turn on/off when you leave, or at certain times of the day. Although the subscription price seems a little expensive compared to some other systems, the subscription is not required to receive notifications or view your live feed. This is a great little camera and works well alone, or can be combined with other Arlo security products.

Great Value and Quality
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Having used all sorts of surveillance cameras for home, Arlo has made it to the top of my list because of the quality, flexibility, and ease of use. My preference would be 4K as resolution is important to capture details otherwise much more difficult. However, this 2K camera worked well for my use case, especially because a lower resolution provides a great benefit: the battery charge lasts considerably longer in comparison to similar devices with a 4K resolution. And the image is so clear that unless you want to read somebody’s badge over 30 feet, it will be just fine. One of the interesting features is the 2-way audio capability. To be honest, I have never actually needed it. The only time I ever used it was for test purposes, but it is there if I ever need it. The main issue for me is the audio quality, but I didn’t expect it to be better as a good speaker would most likely increase the size of the camera. What I really like though is the color night vision which is something that is starting to become common with good cameras. It has some limitations, but it still looks better than the more common ghost-like black and white images. Another good thing to notice is the field of view at 160 degrees, which is fantastic. There is some distortion on the edges, but it is common with most security cameras with such a large field of view. Back to battery life, I’m very happy with it. It seems that it will last a long time with optimized settings. Although I wish it lasted forever, it still allows you to go on a vacation without worrying about it going dark unexpectedly. Also, although I haven’t tried it yet, I bet I can make it work with a solar cell like another one from a different brand that I own. That would make my forever lasting wish come true and I could always set it for the best performance. Overall, this is an excellent camera with great image quality and contrast. I like that it has face recognition and virtually no blind spots for a non-panning camera. My only complaint is the same I’ve had for a very long time: the app is not that stable. There are some issues that seem to be fixed for a while and then they come back after an update of iPhone OS or the app itself. At the time of writing this review, it seemed to have been fixed, and I hope it won’t happen again. Despite that, I would still easily recommend it.

Crystal clear wide coverage 24/7
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Arlo - Pro 1-Camera Wireless 2K Security Camera (6th Gen) Battery Powered – White is very impressive looking right out of the box and it has a well built sturdy feel. Setup was quick and easily done within minutes with the Arlo app that controls all of the functionality of the camera. I just screwed the magnetic mount system on my porch area and synced the camera with the Arlo app and had automatic surveillance of my front home area. The 2K HDR video quality is crystal clear, with no major differences at low light or nighttime. The view that I see is extremely wide and gives me great details. I can monitor all video activity from my phone. I can also include detection alerts for motion, fire, package delivery and other home security issues. The motion alerts come through immediately in real time. With the Arlo - Pro 1-Camera Wireless 2K Security Camera (6th Gen) operating on battery power, I can install it at places where an electrical outlet is not available which can potentially cause a security blind spot. I have use of a built-in spotlight that adds more security when motion is detected. The Arlo - Pro 1-Camera Wireless 2K Security Camera (6th Gen) Battery Powered – White is manufactured to be weatherproof from all of the elements. It is a reliable camera with user friendly controls that is only a benefit to any home's security.

Great Camera to Add to an Already Great System
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have used the Arlo system for some time and needed to add another camera. I can say the Arlo Pro camera is fantastic! The system itself is very easy to set up and use. You simply scan the QR code with the app and add some basic information and you ready to go! The app works very well and the free tier provides a good array of services. The battery life is amazing in the newer model cameras lasting at least a month for me with a few dozen images per day. I did purchase a solar panel for charging but haven’t even set it up. The quality of the cameras is great. This camera in particular is sturdily built and weather resistant. I love ina cold weather environment and the cameras work even when dipping below zero. The image quality is one of the best parts of the Arlo cameras. The images are crisp and clean and the night vision images are fantastic and give you a high level of detail. I have used Arlo for the past several years and do pay for the monthly service for the additional features. I highly recommend this!

Arlo Pro Wireless 2K Outdoor Security Camera 6-Gen
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So I just received my Arlo Pro (6th Gen) Wireless 2K Outdoor Security Camera a few days ago and have been putting it through the paces. I have used Arlo around my home and past apartments for years, and it’s a brand that I have come to love and admire. Arlo makes amazing products with solid build quality, that’s sometimes lacking in other products in the home security industry. Unboxing: * Arlo Pro (6th Gen) 2K Outdoor Security Camera * Rechargeable Battery * Indoor Charging Cable * Wall Mount & Screw Kit * Quick Start Guide * Arlo Security Decal Sticker To get started you will need to download the Arlo Secure app from the App Store for iPhone of Google Play Store for Android devices. Next simply setup an account with Arlo if you don’t have one already. Next once you’re inside the app, hit the plus sign at the top right corner to add your device and the app will guide you along the rest of the setup process (including connecting to WiFi, and updating the firmware). Once you’re connected you’re ready for installation. Using the mounting hardware, simply mount the security camera in your predetermined location. Now even though this camera is marketed for outdoor usage, I’m sure you can find some use cases for it to be installed inside your home, office, or etc. One of our favorite things about this camera is the resolution 2K is amazing. We’ve used other Arlo cameras as well as cameras by other brands that usually top out at 720p or 1080p. But this video quality on this camera is simply amazing. This camera also features a wide field of view of 160º. The battery can be charged using the included USB-A to USB-C charging cable. The charging port is located on the bottom. The battery is not only rechargeable but is also removable as well. And if you thought the video was amazing, the night vision is just as good in color instead of just black and white. The 2-way audio is also just amazing with it being crystal clear. That’s great for either yelling at the creep you notice sneaking onto your property (you can use the integrated siren to scare those creeps off) or for talking with a family member or friend outside in the yard. Arlo will quickly alert you to any movement near the camera with quick pop-up notification on your device. We have this camera located near our front door to track packages, especially this time of year, when porch pirates love ruining someone’s holiday. Overall we love this camera and know you will too, even if it’s just for how simple and easy it is to use.

Signal Strength Lacking
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. An Arlo ecosystem is already a part of our home, where there’s one indoor camera, as well as two outdoor cameras. I got this Arlo Pro 1-Camera to cover one side of our house where there is no surveillance. It’s the side of our home where we also have our side gate, so I feel like we need coverage there as well. I really had high hopes for this camera, but I’m afraid I’m not going to be able to utilize it where I need it. First off, setting up the camera and adding it to our Arlo app was seamless. As instructed, I was very close to our router and was able to add the camera to our WiFi very easily. I’d like to note that we have fiber internet and a WiFi 6 mesh router setup with 3 hubs in opposite corners of our 1-story house. This 6th Gen version of the camera does seem to have a much clearer picture. The 2K resolution provides significant detail which allows for clear identification of people and things, and animals. The 160° field of view is very nice, however not too necessary for the side of a house. The color night vision and integrated spotlight helps capture a great image, even on the very dark side of our house. One thing that is a huge disappointment, that I hoped Arlo would have improved on, is the internal Wi-Fi signal of the camera. During the setup process, it guides you through finding the best location for the camera, based on the connection strength. I initially placed the camera under a bathroom window, where the bathroom is adjacent to the closet where our main router is plugged in. I would estimate that the distance is less than 25 feet. The app said that the connection strength for the camera was “poor”. I have an app on my (WiFi only) tablet that is able to test and display WiFi signal strength. I placed my tablet in the same spot as I had the camera and the app showed that the signal strength was -52 dBm, which is very good. This was very disappointing. I ended up placing the camera much farther away from where I really wanted to place it, because I just couldn’t trust the signal strength the camera is capable of. It’s because of this that I cannot recommend this camera.
