AM reception sucks

I bought one and FM was ok but AM had this background high pitched sound that got worse if you moved the radio. Exchanged it for another one, thinking maybe I bought a defective one but nothing but the same. In today's age, you should be able to buy a decent AM/FM radio for 20 bucks. This is the 3rd "Insignia" branded item I have bought and had problems with. Name brands only unless Best Buy changes their manufacturer of this $%#$.

Should have bought the Sony

I was replacing a Sony armband radio and didn't need the extra features it had, since I primarily only use the am band when I'm working out. I bought the more basic and cheaper Insignia and I got what I less than what I paid for. The reception is terrible and the sound quality, even with the better headphones I purchased is lousy. Spend the extra and get the Sony.

No Longer Works After One Week

After only one week, it no longer works. I tried new batteries to no avail.
Even though I got it on sale for $15, I expect it to last more than one week. All it does now is show the time. I would've returned it, but I no longer have the packaging.

Hi, we're sorry to hear you had a bad experience with the armband radio you purchased but please remember that your product is certainly covered under the one year manufacturer's warranty it comes with. To validate it, you can take it to the Best Buy - Geek Squad counter with your receipt and they will take care of it. Amanda - Insignia Support

This is terrible

So I signed up just to write this review. I bought this for $25 just to listen to ESPN radio when I do various things. First off, the signal is just terrible when walking. You literally have to hold it in your hand and hold it in a upright position to get any kind of signal, and even then it goes in and out. My biggest gripe is it is a headphone killer. My Beats by Dre ear-buds got ruined by plugging them into this radio. Only one ear bud works now. Coincidence, no. Bought a brand new second pair of Phillips headphones, and it did the same thing. After a week, only 1 ear-bud works now. This thing just eats up headphones and destroys them. And the best part, the radio only outputs through 1 ear-bud, even with brand new headphones. Biggest waste of money I have ever spent. DO NOT BUY THIS!! I can't stress this enough. I'm so angry.

A Piece of Junk

I could not even get this piece of junk to turn on. It would go to the HOLD mode, but would not turn ON. The rubber buttons are hard to use and I couldn't set the time either. Don't waste your time even considering this product. This is unfortunate because it is getting very difficult to find any armband radios for sale for some reason.

Poor Quality

I found the reception quality to be poor. The sound is noisy and comes in and out when you move around the radio and headphone wire. For a device designed to strap to your arm during exercise, this is unacceptable. A week after buying the radio, my headphone wire broke and I can only hear sound in the right earpiece. Overall, this product is of poor quality.

Cheaply made

The unit fit nice. After the first month it would stop working (display would be gone). I had to extract the batteries and reset them to get all to work....losing all my presets! This has happened several times.
Perhaps I will be more than price driven on my next purchase of this type of product instead of trusting the brand.

I liked it for a few months, but then the power button failed. The radio wouldn't turn off. Useless after that.

Hi there! I apologize if the power button quit working after a short period of time, but I'd like to remind you that you can always take advantage of Best Buy's 15 day return/exchange period to swap it out for a new unit! -Brian Insignia Support

The "hold" button is stuck in the on position, could not tune in any stations. Turned on and off several times and the hold button remained on.
