Customers commend the action-packed gameplay, immersive controls, and engaging boss fights in Armored Core VI Fires of Rubicon. Many also praise the in-depth story and the wide variety of weapons available. However, some players mention a challenging difficulty and a steep learning curve as potential drawbacks. The fast-paced action is a highlight for many, though the difficulty may pose a barrier for some.

Mech action at its best

First time I've played this series, but I have to say I'm pleasantly surprised with what is on offer for the 16th entry in this long-running series.
The controls are very smooth and intuitive, with only a few niggles like accidentally activating boost when not meaning to. Beyond that, firing weapons, flying around enemies, and navigating the massive world is very easy.
The story is light compared to other games, keeping most of the action to communication calls and some occasional exposition while fighting enemy mechs, but it weaves an interesting enough narrative as you make your way through the missions that have you working an array of corporations and mercenary teams.

Armored Core IV is GREAT

This game is an adrenaline rush. I love the scale of the mechs compared to the world. It truly feels like I’m playing as a gundam or as masengerZ. The amount of builds that can be customized and rearranged gives this game long playability. The bosses are amazing. If you love the immense and intimidating bosses from other FromSoftware games like Bloodborne or Elden Ring… you will love the demanding, soul crushing boss encounters this game throws at you.

Reminds me of everything I enjoyed from the original Armored Core games and more. Fantastically done. Yes, the game does get hard and can be quite difficult, this is what makes the game so great; learn to adjust to your opponents and be aware of your environment and you'll be fine! You can also replay missions for extra funds if you find yourself short to get upgrades to pass a mission.

Great game! A little difficult at first but super fun! If you want a challenge and alot of fun get this. You build your own mech. But you gotta pay attention to power distribution, weight and other things like that. Really cool. Been a fan since the 1st on psone.

I have not played an AC game before, picked it up after enjoying Bloodborne and Elden Ring. After playing for a few hours I have not hit any bugs. It is fun to customize the mech. Missions are bite sized so it is easy to play for a few minutes or for extended gaming sessions. Intro boss was a little challenging but not too bad. Gameplay is more interactive than Mech Assault

Fun mecha hopping chaos. Lots of customization options, decent controls, excellent action. Story is a bit of a bummer and visuals are dated. Still fun

Great high quality game with lots of customization and replayability. Gameplay is addictive and fine tuned, providing a decent challenge for newcomers and veterans of the series. Fromsoft once again hits a home run, they never strike out.

If you’re ready for robot smashing fun. This is the game for you. DLC will improve the story line in the near future. Plenty to customize with pros and cons. You can’t have the ultimate fighting machine but you will be close to perfection. Enjoy!

While the series has been asleep for a near decade, Armored Core is now very much awake. This is not elden ring. This is not souls. This is armored core. If you enjoy, deep customization and menus and intense combat and a challenge, look no farther.

Loads of gameplay and fun to be bad, replayability is definitely up there! Customization options for your AC are amazing and the introduction of a modern system is a breath of fresh air for the series

I’ve played and achieved platinum for every fromsoft game from Demon Souls to Elden Ring and everything between including Sekiro. I wanted something new so I decided to play this. Very challenging, but fun!

Difficult but rewarding to master with deep customization options that offer so many different ways to play! Game is gorgeous to boot - my only critique is that the story/characters faded so far into the background by comparison. The gameplay is the absolute star so if you want to pilot crazy mechs to battle, die, and repeat, this is THE game to play.

As a fan of the original AC games, I was very excited to see this. This game has done a great job of maintaining its origins and adding on that. I love that i can pick up the controller an play 2 or 3 levels or dive in and bringe for 2 hrs. Storyline is ehhh but the gameplay makes up for that. Must have for mech/robot fans.

Bug/Glitch free, with a smooth 60fps, and very minimal drops that you likely won't even notice. Game is VERY hard, so if you don't like challenging games, you can sit this one out. But... it's well worth the struggle. Game is A-tier for me. My only issues are that I think various guns need a slight damage buff, and increase in magazine size... lol.. that's it. Looking forward to coming balancing patches, that if done right, will kick this game into S-tier.

Played Armored Core on PS2 all day long when I was a kid. Used to love customizing my mech and unlocking new parts. That's all still here! Combat feels great, feels like giant mechs without being too sluggish and unfun.
Had no idea FromSoftware (Dark Souls, Elden Ring) made these games, that's why they're so good! Love that this series is back, mech combat games are too uncommon nowadays. This has got to be the best one this generation.

Remember being a kid and seeing how cool mechas look? Not only does this game let you play as cool looking mechas, it also makes it easy for you to customize them and make your own!
It’s also a very unique genre, and an excellent addition to my PS5 game library. The short mission based structure reminds me of Ace Combat, and this game makes an excellent replacement for that game that has failed to innovate and modernize itself over time.
