Customers are pleased with the Surfboard 32 x 8 DOCSIS 3.0 Voice Cable Modem's ease of use, performance, and price. Many found setup to be straightforward, and the modem generally performed as expected, delivering good value for the cost. However, some users experienced compatibility issues with providers other than Xfinity. A few customers also noted that additional equipment, such as a router, might be necessary for optimal functionality.

This modem was recommended by my TV/internet provider. Unfortunately, it was not a good match to replace my existing and rented modem. It is a good thing that I bought the product insurance which allowed Best Buy to give me store credit.

This modem works amazingly. No issues at all with connecting to Xfiniti and still being able to use a landline. I would purchase this modem again if I needed to.

This Modem is NOT compatible with Optimum Cable. There is not a CMAC #. They tried to connect it, but they were not able to. Best Buy told me it would work, but it will not. I never tried the modem so my 5 star review is irreverent. I just wanted customers looking for modems or to eliminate a rental fee NOT TO PURCHASE IF YOU ARE AN OPTIMUM CUSTOMER. Their best modem they recommend is an ARRIS 1602. Buy that one if you have voice and internet for modem. This is not a review for you if you don't have a home phone. Not sure what you need.

when i first got this modem i noticed the battery led only worked during a reset, not when there was a battery that needed charging in it or when there was a fully charged battery in it, or when there was no power using the phone on battery backup power. i also assume it will not flash when a battery needs to be replaced. then i noticed it notifies me i have voice mail when i have none. i have worked with comcast/xfinity for several weeks trying to find out what was wrong. they sent a tech out and hooked up one of their modems. it worked as should, leds and only notified me of voice mail when there was some.arris was notified of this problem. they continue to say it is a problem on my end. i replaced an arris tm722 with this modem, i had no issues with the old modem. i would recommend buying a different brand if you plan on using xfinity as your provider.

It doesn't work on the Optimum network. This is the second ARRIS modem I bought. They say they can see it fine on there end but I get no internet or phone.
