Has great WiFi range
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this to replace a 2 year old Arris modem with WiFi, Model SBG6580. It worked fine until a few weeks ago. So I bought the newer version SBG6700AC Modem with WiFi. It has more speed and a greater range on the WiFi than the older one. Got to love technology as it keeps getting better and costs less. I am in a fairly small brick home and it seems to work fine all over with no drop outs of service. I can go pretty much all over my 1/2 acre and it works fine. The old one would lose range about 100 to 125 feet away from the modem.

Great Solution to Being Overcharged by Cable Co's
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After banging my head against a wall from our local internet service providers and their bad modems, I decided to run to Best Buy to grab one myself. The salesman that I worked with was helpful, and the quality of the modem so far is great. No issues. I recommend this product.

Good device
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Works well for my 2 bedroom condo, no issues with connectivity. If you are looking for more power or coverage a modem and router setup might be more successful than a combo unit like this one.

Solid Wireless router
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have a two story house and my previous router did not project wifi throughout my two bedroom apartment. This router does a good job of getting wifi throughout most of the two story house.

Not to my expectations for Arris
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My previous modem/router was an Arris Surfboard 6580. I completely loved everything about that router, so when it died suddenly, I ultimately decided to get another Arris. Unfortunately, the 6700 has not come close to the standard that my 6580 did. I had two computers connected via wired connection, a Windows 10 and a Windows 7. However, the Arris 6700 did not even recognize the wired connection to the Windows 7 computer. I called customer service and we did the whole troubleshooting routine. The tech determined that one of the wired ports was bad, so I returned the 6700 for another one. The new 6700 router did exactly the same thing, I called tech support again, and the tech was amazed and said it looked like I had a one-in-a-million situation where I bought two new routers with the same issue, I should return it again for a new one. Well, I didn't believe this at all. So I switched my wired connections and put the Windows 10 computer in port 2 and the Windows 7 in port 1. Now the router recognized a connection in port 2 but not port 1, so I knew there was actually nothing wrong with the routers/ports, but with the router software. The moral here is IF YOU HAVE A WINDOWS 7 COMPUTER, CAVEAT EMPTOR. I bought a USB wifi receiver for the Windows 7 computer, and have connected it that way instead of wired. It works, but not what I intended. The second issue has been reliability. I had to do a reset of the 6580 maybe once a year. I've owned the 6700 about 2-3 months and have had to do a reset about once every two weeks, when the devices around the house state that there's no wireless signal being broadcast. This is quite an annoyance. And the 6700 takes easily twice as long to reset as the previous router. It takes 2-3 minutes, which seems like a minor thing but that's a long time for a router to boot up. The last issue has been signal reliability. The 6580 had no trouble reaching every corner of the house. The 6700 has had issues reaching several places we frequently want to use devices, either producing a very weak signal there, or one that our devices can't pick up at all. This is by far the biggest drawback to me, and why I can't give more than 2 stars. Overall, if you mainly want a wired connection, or if you have a smaller range where you want to pick up wifi, the speed is quite good. Wired connections also never have connection issues. But that gets to the point, if you only want wired connections you probably wouldn't spend extra to get a modem/wifi router combo. It pains me to do so as much as I loved my previous Arris router, but I can't recommend this product.

Great Modem/Router Combo
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Best router I have ever owned. Never boots me. Very convenient that it provides both modem and router functionality. No need for the extra box at a reasonable price.

Good for its service. Could use some explanation
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The surfboard unit was recommended by the service man that installed the cable to my house. It was confirmed by the Best Buy salesman to be a good router modem for my house size and use. It has provided good coverage and I am satisfied with it so far. The one complaint I have is that I haven't found just a simple instruction on turning the unit off and on. Not a big deal but it seems there should be some basics provided.
