Great modem with capability for Comcast voice/phone service, however... I am nearly convinced that Comcast intentionally makes it painfully difficult to use your personally OWNED equipment. It took no less than 6 submissions of the MAC ID to Comcast BY THE COMCAST TECHNICIAN at my house before it finally came online. The handset icon for the phone service was also lit up for a few days, however I did not have a phone to connect at the time. However a day or two before connecting a phone to the phone jack on the modem, the handset icon was no longer active. Sure enough, when connecting my phone to the modem, there was no dial tone. After getting passed around to about 4 other support techs, nothing improved. I was told by the last tech that the issue would be corrected and the service will be online within 2-3 hours. LOL That's how the get you off the call. Next morning, still no service. I waited 2 days before dealing with Comcast support again, got passed around a few times again, but finally ended up with a tech that discovered that the MTA MAC ID (for the voice service) was not even populated for some reason. Once he populated it, the modem rebooted...the phone worked, but then the internet service was offline. Fortunately he was able to re-submit the MAC ID for the internet service and finally all has been online and stable. It really does appear as if they want you to regret attempting to use your own modem and not pay them the additional monthly rental fee for their equipment. Most people that I know would have given up and gone that route, which is only beneficial to Comcast and not their subscribers. Love the modem and would definitely recommend! Good luck with Comcast, and don't give up. Just keep trying and they will be the ones who eventually give up and allow your equipment to operate.

So after reading and doing some research, stumbled upon this beastly device. The problem is that I couldn't actually use this thing. Reason being, not compatible with Spectrum. Found out the hard way by calling them up to activate the modem. Long story short, not on their list of approval for 1Gig or any of their internet plans, but the 8300 model is though?! Sucks due to the fact that this model has pretty much everything needed to get started on the spectrum internet( Lans,Tele Ports). Gave it a 5 star so those that have Spectrum or is thinking of switching/getting Spectrum know the answer

So far, so good. The sales clerk was most helpful in helping me choose the right product. Connectivity meets my needs. The clerk (Andrew at Chemical Road location) is the reason I will go back to Best Buy. Others stood around on their phones, while he actively engaged.

Needed a specific upgrade for home use and after research, decided on this modem. Easy to set up and has worked like a champ, especially given I telework a good portion of the time. Needed a replacement after 5 years and this modem meets every requirement and is extremely reliable. Solid purchase for right now--happy it was available! Highly recommended.

Definitely don't disappoint. I've been using this unit for almost a month now and zero problems. feast speed, great quality, and one of the few modems that you can also connect your telephone. Returning my Xfinity modem asap to get rid of that pesky monthly fee.

Easy to setup with Comcast. Superfast speeds and able to connect multiple devices.

I purchased this modem because the one I had wasn't getting me the speeds I pay for. I have a 600mbps plan with Xfinity and with this modem I get over 700mbps! It was extremely easy to set up from unboxing to online was about 15 minutes and it's compatible with Xfinity voice so that's a plus.

Just to save you the time that I wasted over the weekend. If you install this modem AND you have Xfinitiy's 1Gb Xfi Advantage -- that's the high-speed plan that includes unlimited data -- Comcast will remove the unlimited data feature from your account (plan details here: https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/xfi-advantage-faqs). So, yes, you'll still have 1Gb speed, but you will be paying for data in excess of 1Tb each month. If that works for you, then go for it. My family exceeds that each month, so any savings I might have gotten by having my own modem would have been canceled out (and then some). Unfortunately, I didn't learn this until I went through the installation process, called Comcast support twice, waited on hold and finally spoke with a helpful rep who told me the bad news.

I purchased this-(my 3rd and final try) unit as Mediacom informed me it would be compatible with their system-(as the two previous units were). After about 7 hours of phone calls, I was told by a supervisor that this unit would not connect to their system! I'm sure this is a good unit. I bought a lesser expensive one for my daughter and it works great.

Working wonderfully with my Xfinity 600 Mbps package. Easy to set up via a quick call to Xfinity so they could provision the new modem. Connected my Orbi once it was all clear with Xfinity and was getting 500+ Mbps speed on my iPhone throughout the house within 20 minutes. There might be something to getting a piece of equipment made specifically for your ISP.

I bought this to replace a Surfboard that was a tad outdated. Paired with an appropriate router, I’m able to take full advantage of my high speed internet via Docsys 3.1. Definitely a great deal, worth the investment if you’re doing a lot of steaming. Very easy install.

I really didn't expect my Internet speed to improve with this Cable modem verses Xfinity's Cable modem. However, I noticed a substantial increase in performance. I don't believe my Xfinity Modem was very old, but the performance of this modem is excellent.

We have Comcast 1Gig internet and upgrading to this modem really helped increase our network speed and reliability. The modem has been very reliable and I believe it is a much better unit than the Netgear we previously used.

Straight forward install, worked well as xFinity replacement. Quite fast too.

I like the modem as a whole but I didn't read the ad well. My last modem had a built in Wifi so I had to go back and get three pods. I now have my internet phone hooked up through this modem and I can get rid of my old land line that gave me 100 spam calls to 4 real calls a month.

Works perfectly with Comcast. Easy to setup and gets the advertised download speeds. Would be nice to have the option to keep it horizontal or vertical, this one is a little awkward on its side with a built-in stand.

Ended up having to return this because we could never get it to work with Comcast. Our old modem (which had been replaced within the last year because of a lightning strike) mysteriously stopped working, and the only way we could get internet was via an xfinity modem. We bought this modem thinking it would work, but once we installed it, we had the same problems we had with our other modem. After a week of fighting with Comcast and the manufacturer of the modem, we gave up and returned it since it didn't work for us. I don't believe it was a problem with the modem AT ALL, I totally feel that it was comcast keeping the modem from functioning properly so that we would have to pay the monthly rental fee for tech that worked.

I had a different Arris SURFboard 32 x 8 DOCSIS 3.1 modem that didn't have telephone capability. I was so impressed with its performance that I only considered replacing it with this Arris T25 model that allows me to have home phone service. The 32 x 8 transmission speed is currently the fastest on the market for Xfinity and the DOCSIS 3.1 is the most current software to date. Arris prices are more than competitive as they offer the latest for comparable prices to the competition who offer less speed & older software like DOCSIS 3.0 sometimes for a higher price.

This Arris T25 modem works perfectly for our Xfinity with Voice service. You will also need a separate router to have WiFi throughout your home. It still beats out renting a gateway from your provider in the long run! This was set up and activated by the Xfinity technician with our new service, so I cannot attest to the ease or difficulty of installation. However, I watched him and it seemed pretty straightforward.
