We didn't look close enough at the specifications and Windows 8 isn't supported. It will connect but it will continually drop the internet on a Windows 8 laptop if you aren't within 15 feet of the router.

Everything I needed in one device

Nice Cable Modem/Gigabit Router

The salesperson at Best Buy said this was a good seller to install on the SuddenLink cable internet network that requires DOCSIS 3.0 technology. It was a little tough to set for me but I'm somewhat tech challenged. I guess if I could do it almost anyone could.

No frills functionality

The wireless signal range is impressive and should be acceptable even for larger homes.

The connection often goes to 'limited' and I have to disconnect and reconnect to the network with that particular notebook.
