Not dependable for WiFi

Major interruptions until I switched to a router and modem separately. I did use a Motorola Surfboard modem with a linksys router and it works great!!!

Didn't work for me
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.After buying this, getting a faulty one, exchanging it for another one, that one not working either, and about 24 hours of my time spent collectively between Comcast and Motorola Aris tech support, this product did not function as intended. Ultimately, they determined that it was due to the area in which I live, which is a normal subdivision neighborhood not too close to the city. Either way - replaced it with a modem (only) and a router (only) and everything worked great - the new router was even a Motorola router!

good product to replace cable modem

Was going to take product back to BB if they would not help me so they helped me a little

Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.PRE WORK: * Internet research on SBG6580 * User reviews * Contact Charter Cable to verify compatible and approved (yes) * I am NOT an IT guy HISTORY: Despite the bad and negative reviews I went to Best Buy to get one of these since I had a rental modem for 15 years, yep $7/mo :( The guys at the store confirmed the part number and said installation wa straight forward, just follow the instructions verbatim. I had a coupon, gift card and store credit so I got this at a redicously low price. I went home and opened the box and read the very short and concise instructions. I Followed them VERBATIM and in 14 minutes I was uninstalled and reinstalled and running. I then went to the Motorola webite and watched 3 quick videos (not required). I then renamed my SSID and set up a Guest network in another 10 minutes. This thing is fast, I hit the button and the answer is there for old and new websites. I have the router in the lower level of my 3 story home. My kid took a laptop out side and 150 ft away from house and still had a connection at 2 BARS. Follow the very short instructions VERBATIM and be amazed. Motorola did a very nice job on documents, product and performance.
