This modem has worked really well at my 2 bedroom apt. We have multiple devices including an iPhone, iPad, computer, and DVD player used for Netflix. All will work at the same time and doesn't slow down internet service.

Love this router. It works great and was not hard to install for this old 67 year old woman. Must be pretty easy if I figured it out. Works with my cable company and now I don't have to pay them a monthly fee for theirs.

Set up was a breeze. It actually to longer to get through to the cable company to give them the MAC address than it did to do the home set up. Works great!!! Download speed is where it should be and no more dropped signals.

Great SURFboard Modem, but range is spotty

I bought this modem when I switched to Timewarner Cable. I knew from friends that the modem supplied to them was seriously lacking. This modem was recommended. I have been very happy with the internet service and TV service on my main level, but I have received spotty service on my lover level. Often I will get a message on my downstairs TV saying internet service has been lost, and I have to reconnect. I am considering a signal booster. I would recommend the modem, with conditions that you are servicing 1 level of your home.

Purchased to use with Comcast/xfinity internet service, just called them to set up and was online in no time. Would recommend, since its compatible with multiple providers and is a wifi router as well.

This is a fairly simple modem/router combination unit, much better when you go in and change the default settings, such as the channel, so you and all of your neighbors are not sharing the same one. Quick setup after that, and all of my devices found and connected effortlessly. One downside I found with this unit is where you put it in the house. I had it in my home office all the way in the back of the house and the signal strength suffered, 2000 sq foot house, long not square. So I moved it into a bedroom closer to the middle of the house. This improved the overall coverage of the device, but all of the added walls diminished the signal. If you put anything near it, the signal degrades even more, propagation blocking, even if it is a book. I found that when I put it on the tallest bookcase in the room with nothing around it, I get almost all the bars of signal strength, even through the walls. Another thing I found interesting, that I have to research more, is when I change from 2.4 GHz to 5GHz, none of my devices even sees the router, requiring me to physically connect my laptop via CAT-5 to change it back. Other than those, it is a good box and recommend it for any level IT person.

I was using an old Linksys router and a cheap Amazon modem that cost $35. The pair constantly dropped connection and maxed out at 11 mbs down, when I pay for 25. So I decided to quit trying to go the cheap route and bought this fine little modem/router. It worked like a dream. It only took 10 minutes of set-up (with Comcast, so clearly a miracle) and it continues to work perfectly fine (for over a month now). It can handle the pitiful speed we get through Comcast, and probably more, and has never failed. We can stream Netflix, game online, and download without frustration or name-calling. I am content.

We had an old modem from comcast that would not let us on the internet any more. Rather than pay $10 a month to comcast we decided to buy our own modem router. I bought the wrong one twice and had to return it. You must buy a wifi modem router combo. It took a while to get it installed with comcast but we finally got it resolved. We are happy with it. Comcast still tryed to charge us the $10 the first month even though I returned the old modem. We got that straightened out and all is well.

For a modem, I was interested in speed, quick set up and just feeling it was doing its job without bothering me. I'm more than satisfied with this unit. I picked the Motorola in the hope that it would have the range to allow use outside the house - porch, patio, etc. Quick tests indicate it will more than deliver, including some areas where I thought the house construction would interfere. Now what I need is warm weather to be able to use my laptop outside in the sun!

I bought this modem because I've always trusted Motorola. It was plug n play after giving my cable provider the MAC address of the modem. The modem has now been running for about 4 months, without a need to reboot or reset. So far so good!

I bought this instead of leasing from Xfinity. well worth the money. Speed is always at a constant 50 mbps, and when other computers / devices are on or streaming, speed only drops to 30 mbps under heavy usage. Only thing is that when creating your login, instructions say the password is password - it's actually motorola. See below: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=krpPel3CiA0

I think this is a great idea putting a wireless router and a modem in one unit. You can not beat the price either. I did shop around and best buy was the best price out there. The modem is very easy to set up. It took me more time openings the box then it did to set up the modem. I have comcast and to rent their modem for almost nine dollars a month or buy my own not a hard decision. Also I have had great WiFi and cable connection with this unit.

I have Xfinity Comcast provider and was told this router would be best compatible for Xfinity to get the most out of the internet service. I had to buy and return this Item 3 times! After that I just returned it and got Xfinity's own modem they have. It was okay, but for some reason my provider could not connect with that router and get my internet to work. It is a great buy and was at a good price, but you should make sure your provider can connect with it.

I have mediacom and they couldn't get it to register, so that part wasn't cool and mediacom customer support (I give them 1 star) was useless they spent 5 minutes on the phone and all they did was refer me to arris customer service. But when I called the products customer service they were awesome, they did a full check of the modem to make sure nothing was wrong with it and had me on the internet in minutes and my internet was much faster than before.
