I've been using this router/modem for about a month and it's just okay. I live in a small condo and my wifi signal weakens in certain areas. I couldn't imagine using this product in a house. It's fine for now but I wouldn't repurchase.

This was my second choice for a cable modem/router. When we decided to switch from a phone line broadband provider to CCXF Cable Broadband, I knew I wanted to buy my own modem/router, instead of renting from CC. Having this installed at my mother-in-laws, I preferred a modem/router combo instead of two separate units. I wanted to reduce the possible issues for her in the future. I originally purchased the Netgear N600 Dual-Band Wireless-N Router w/ Cable Modem. I purchased it a week before the installation happened. Every few days the 2.4GHz network would not accept the correct password. I decided to return the Netgear after experiencing this issue twice in the first week. I thought Best Buy had a 30 day return policy, but was surprised to learn that it is 15 days. I was grateful (though upset it was even an issue) that they accepted the return and let me exchange for the Arris Surfboard. The Surfboard doesn't have the password issue that the Netgear had, but overall it seems to be worse than the Netgear. First, the Netgear would broadcast both 2.4GHz and 5GHz networks at the same time. With the Surfboard, you have to choose between broadcasting one or the other. It probably makes no real difference since our internet speed is only 10Mbps, so we wouldn't see a great difference in using the 5GHz network. Additionally the unit is in the basement, and the 2.4GHz is better at broadcasting through the floor. So we use the 2.4GHz network. My greatest complaint is that many times per day (or at least enough to say it's an issue), the network will jam up. All streaming, browsing, etc. stops. It is fixed by disconnecting the device from the network, and reconnecting. Or we have to wait for a few minutes for the network to start working again. We notice it on all active devices at the same time. It could be an issue with the CC service, but since it is fixed by disconnecting from the network and reconnecting, I believe it is an issue with the router. I will not use this device (or the Netgear) in my own home. I will use two separate devices, a modem and a router. It is sufficient for our needs, but the intermittent connection issues are noteworthy.

This modem router is by far one of the best I have used. You hook it up contact your provider they change over to your new modem router. I was very impressed I'm how easy it was to set up. And this router works wonderful. You need a good router modem it would be foolish not to purchase this one. I give this product a five star plus. You don't believe me just try it

The setup of the modem and router was relatively seamless. One advantage (to me) is that someone can set up a network purely on the router itself, from the router menu. The router-modem combination alleviated problems I was having with the cable company-supplied modem, as well. It also seems faster than my previous modem and router.

This product was simple to install and I haven't had any problems with it. It also helps that it was on TWC list of compatible devices.

I use the internet for streaming, Typically Netflix. I usually only have two devices connected at any given time. This seems to do the job very well. Not sure how it would do streaming to multiple sources at one time or with more than two devices at one time. It was very easy to set up for someone that is not exactly tech savvy.

One piece to do the work of both the router and modem. I only had to plug it in and it asked for all the details and I just followed the on screen prompts. It has great range for the apartment. I run the computer, TV, DVD player and multiple mobile devices all without a problem.

This all-in-one unit is a cable modem, ethernet switch and WiFi router. Overkill if all you have is a single computer, but outstanding for a small home network. I use it to support an AT&T femtocell station for my smartphone, an IP telephone (MagicJack) and two Macs. If only Comcast would provision its network automatically, without a phone call.

I was waffling on whether to go simple/easy and get the all-in-one cable modem & wireless router or not. I think the cost savings was a couple of bucks vs buying them separately. Should have gone the separate route. The wireless on this unit is really poor. I have it setup in the same location, same bandwidth, same channel as another unit (obviously not turned on at the same time) and the range is horrible. Would have returned it and gone with just the cable-modem only version. End up turning off the wireless on it and using a Linksys 1200 router and wireless signal is fine. Also, Comcast was recommending we upgrade our modem - "Our records indicate that your cable modem needs to be upgraded in order to ensure you're getting the most out of your XFINITY® Internet service", which is why I bought this one. However, speed is the same so I'm future proofed I suppose, but didn't need the upgrade just yet. Another advantage of buying 2 separate units like I should have done is that if/when something dies or needs to get upgraded, only will need to replace a cheaper unit vs a more expense combo unit (kind of like buying a double-oven with a microwave...chances are microwave will die before the oven, so don't combine them in a single unit). Hope that helps with your selection.

This is my second Surfboard because the first one got fried during a storm, which is not covered by the warranty. So if you buy this, please make sure you also use a surge protector for the cable connection in addition to the regular power cord. I had a surge protector for the power supply but my cable was plugged directly in the wall jack. As painful as it was to shell out this much money for a replacement, it works well (and there don't seem to be very many options for a gateway that is compatible with my Comcast service).

Haven't used the product for very long. It was difficult to do port forwarding and the wireless connection to my printer is intermittent. That wasn't the case until I installed this product. Otherwise my wifi is working fine.

I would consider myself "moderate" when it comes to wireless. And I found this to be relatively easy to set up. I mainly bought it so that I don't have to rent from Comcast anymore. I have had it for 3 weeks now and it has not given me any issues thus far. Would recommend.
