I'm a huge comic book fan, but my fandom has been mostly reserved for Marvel. The CW's Arrow is the first DC property since Batman Begins and The Dark Knight (that's it - just those two) that got me interested in DC's Universe. The action is well-executed, and there are plenty of surprises. Any time a full name is mentioned, I looked it up on line because there are tons of Easter Eggs sprinkled in the show. And on Blu Ray, it looks terrific. Highly recommend!

I thought this series would be similar to Smallville but to my surprise I really enjoyed and shall continue to follow it. The content is much darker than other comic book hero series for TV but the writing and production values rival many blockbuster movies. This series also got me more interested in the Green Arrow comics and a nice diversion from many of the Batman, Superman, and Justice League material already used in movies and TV.

I wasn't sure if I would like this series, but since the price was great thought I would give it a try. It moved quickly and was viewed in less than a week. Liked the development of all of the characters and various categories of story lines. The bonus segments showed how the creators started the show and how all of the action scenes and stunts were performed, along with feedback from the actors. Great purchase and looking forward to the other seasons.

If you're into shows and stuff like this you won't regret the experience it has to offer. The story is just amazing and every episode seems to be better than the last. The character development throughout the season, in particular, is something that was done really well and will keep you coming back for more. The second season is over and is just as good if not better. So, do your self a favor and catch up in time for the release of the second season set.

A lot like batman in many regards, rich playboy trying to become more than who he is. If your a fan of batman, you'll likely enjoy the show. The show is more grounded, so it's similar in presentation to the dark knight trilogy and not the more light series. Some of the acting can be a little wooden at times, but I often find myself googling random character/organization/company names that popup and enjoy already seeing them entangled in the DC universe.

ARROW filled the WB's hole left by the end of Smallville. It owes a lot to the dark, Christopher Nolan-ish Batman and that's not a bad thing. The first season plots are largely by the numbers, following a 'black list' of sorts, left by the title character's dad. I understand things open up in Season 2 (haven't seen it yet). Still, this was an entertaining ride. I picked up the BD set at a BB sale for 19.99. It's worth more, so I did well.

First, I liked that the Blu-ray comes with DVD copies and especially the UltraViolet copies it comes with. I like the accessibility that UV copies provide, it makes it much easier to watch any episode, including skipping from episode 1 to 10 without having to get up and put in a new disc. The Blu-ray and UV pictures make each episode feel like your in it. Both the show itself and all the elements included with the Blu-ray make this a must buy.

I am admitted a huge Marvel fan. I grew up reading those comics and nowadays enjoy most of their movies. Outside of the Dark Knight movies by Nolan, I don't know much about DC character. So as an outsider, I can say that this show is amazing, whether you're a comic book fan or not. The story is great. With the right balance of character development, flashbacks, action, etc. I waited 2 1/2 season before watching and now I'm hooked!

Arrow is a faithful, yet realistic adaptation of the DC Comics character Green Arrow. This first season chronicles a tense evolutionary cycle for Oliver Queen from wealthy no-load to deadly vigilante, while advancing toward the sure-shot heroic archer with which comic book fans are familiar.

There are times when we see a show and just say "Wow", The complete season 1 of Arrow started off simple enough but as I kept watching the show became more then just a show. The characters are very like able and its more the likely you will have more then one favorite character (*cough cough* Felicity *cough cough*). The show has amazing action sequences and great character development. Worth the watch, trust me.

I've never seen the show before, but for $15 a season I figured I couldn't go wrong. And I was right. I enjoyed the first season very much. The disks looks very good, and sounded great. I would've liked to seen more behind-the-scenes type features but all in all very well done. One complaint I do have about the disks, and I do believe it is the disks fault, and that is, it never remembers where I was if I leave an episode in the middle. If it weren't for that, I'd of given this five stars. And one more thing, while loading any one of the disks, it would seem to lock up whatever it felt like, on the load. I would then have to unplug the player to get it to unlock. And I've check for updates for the LG player and it says it's up-to-date.

My wife and I started watching Arrow when it first started and we have loved every single episode. My wife never understands why I buy the DVD or blu-ray season and when I was watching it the other day, she sat down thinking it was the TV show but when it just skips over the commercials she was loving it. Great quality and sound, love the HD DVD or Blu-ray formats. Quality is just as good as the DirecTV HD

Wealthy Oliver Queen is stranded on an island for 5 years. During that time he must learn to fight to stay alive. After he is rescued he becomes the Vigilante, taking down wealthy criminals who steal from the people of the city. Every episode includes flashbacks to his time on the island. Some of those scenes are difficult to watch. There is some romance in each episode to lighten the mood.

Arrow is arguably the best new series on TV. For fans of DC comics, this show has given us an amazing series that constantly raises the bar. Season one was a great intro to the character, and although he was a bit darker than we were used to with the Green Arrow from Smallville, Stephen Amell has become the Green Arrow by which all future versions will be judged. Hands down, best super hero show on TV.

A riveting tv series. It has action, drama, and suspense. In similar style to the tv series Smallville, it is the story of another DC super hero, the "Green Arrow". IThe series is well produced, the characters are engaging and the story line well written for each character. If you are a fan of shows such as Lost, Smallville, and Heroes, this show is definitely for you.

Did not know if I would be interested in this series but it does not take long to realize it is well written and the actors do a great job. It mixes past and present through out the series in a unique way where you see how the Arrow has gotten to where he is. If you like Sci-Fi it is a must see. But if you like an interesting storyline it is great also.

Great price form Black Friday. It is a great mix of story telling in each episode of what happened on the island and current. It was a very good blending of the 2 stories each episode. what an ending. It also enjoyable to see that there were other DC characters. not going to mention any here so as to not give away any spoilers. Its nothing like smallvile other that an origin series

My best friend was in to this show and told me to give it a chance. As a big DC fan I thought they would ruin the Green Arrow in a show. I was wrong. I was hooked from episode one. This show has all kinds of elements that make it a great show. It is for anyone looking for awesome action, emotion, and plot twists that make you gasp and want more.

I have only watched one disc so far, but the Blu Ray plays well in my 4 year old Samsung. While the plot can be somewhat predictable the action scenes are well done and the series holds your attention. The Arrow doesn't take itself too seriously but yet is still engrossing. The acting isn't too bad and the actresses are easy on the eyes. My only beef with the series is the "ya right" factor. For instance the Arrows nemesis, the policeman (Quentin Lance) is after him, but also hates Oliver Queen (his alter ego) because he blames Oliver for the death of his daughter. That's pretty convenient I would say. All in all the episode pass quickly and leave you wanting another.

Like a lot of shows, Arrow struggles a bit in its first season to find its way. But when it hits, it hits. Overall, I really like (most of) the cast. I could do without Laurel. Oliver's dual storyline throughout the season is very interesting. and I'm dying to see his entire 5-year tale on the island as it unfolds, most likely over 5 seasons.
