great game but full of bugs and glitches

overall this is a great game. great graphics, great storyline and the new features are fun but confusing at first. the trade system is confusing at first, they should have had a tutorial to explain it cause the trade system is intricate but rewarding once you master it. there are times when i am roaming the map and all a sudden i get a message to kill the target but there is no target, even on the map.then it will say target escaped. my horse has gotten stuck numerous times. the reaction time to shoot a weapon is sloooww. some targets will not die unless you shoot them, you can stab, slice cut them a million times and they wont die. these are all game bugs and glitches, there are so many that is kinda upsetting that ubisoft would rush there development teams so hard for the release date that they just simply can't fix all the bugs. i am a loyal assassins creed fan and the fact that ubisoft would ship a bugged game to its loyal customers is ridicoulous.

This assassin's creed is the best ubisoft montreal has done so far! I was shocked by the awesome improvements they made, this assassin's has a long story and a very interesting as well. They added many new features to it and many strike combos, they made much more realistic. This assassin's creed III is not like the others where you feel things are redundant, they attack the same way etc, in this one there are many things connor can do. There are a bunch of new things that i wouldn't be able to fit here but i really recommend people to buy this game. After i finished the game, i really want to see the next assassin's creed game that might come out. In this assassin's creed, we finally find out what the apple and all of desmond's search was for.

    Lots to Do...

I enjoyed the majority of this. Once you get past the extensive prologue, the game takes off. There's a lot to do, lots of exploring, tons of side quests, mini games, etc. Although some of it felt like busy work quests. It also very glitchy. I had numerous problems, start/end points vanishing, NPC's vanishing, some consumables would disappear from my inventory, lots of my Guild missions would fail with 95% chance of success, my outfits wouldn't appear in the manor, things like that. Not game breaking, just really annoying. Had few random hard freezes, but not like the original AC. Overall, its not a terrible game, I would likely play it again. I liked the time frame. It essentially follows the hero's journey. Check out hero with a thousands faces if you don't know the reference. I really liked Connor's story, but the Desmond storyline doesn't end well. Play it if you've been following the series, but don't start here if your new to it. I liked most of this, but the ending sort of ruined the experience.

Great, But a couple of issues

This game is one of the best games I have ever played, with great graphics and many things to do in the game (over 70 hours of gameplay). But there are only some drawbacks with it. Like when I was only 1 hour into the game when one of the characters was talking but his mouth was not moving. I dont know if it was just my game. And it's not really that big of a deal, but its probably a bug. Also when you run up and down the streets I would randomly jump into a pile of hay (not meaning to). That is the only reason for taking off one star. Hopefully the next update on the game will fix all the bugs. Overall this game is really well put together and I would recommend it to any gamer out there. This game is really worth the price!

Happily, one doesn't have to be familiar with the previous AC games to enjoy AC3. It should appeal to most anyone, except maybe the hard-core shooter gamers. I am doing side-missions as I go, stalling on completion because I don't want to finish! I think one can complete the main game and then do side missions, however. I'm in the middle of the side naval missions now and they are very much fun. If you've ever wished you could captain a well-armed tall ship and chase down frigates and a Man-of-War or two, this is your game. Or, while hunting in the forest, you become the prey of ferocious predators. Maybe you'd like to find the right people to establish a successful trading village in the wilderness. And, of course, training your own bunch of assassins. I like the main character. He has a story of great stoicism and subtlety, a Native American by upbringing, half-British by birth, caught in a tidal wave of Europeans, flooding his world with betrayal and treachery. His enemies are shifting and everywhere, each sure of his rightness and convictions. The game play controls were harder than expected, and took awhile to get used to. The character can do a lot of different actions: climbing, hiding, sneaking, free-running (in trees, too), so can unexpectedly move in a way you didn't anticipate. This can be really funny once you get used to it. The game was patched (in December), and while I've noticed some small glitches, nothing game-breaking, and not nearly what I'd expect for the huge world.

    So much wasted potential

Context is key when looking at this game. It was released in 2012 and references the Mayan Apocalypse that was "supposed" to happen in 2012 (dating its framing story). It was the third game made in the less than a year schedule like Brotherhood and Revelations. It was supposed to finish off the framing story concerning the series' secondary protagonist, Desmond Miles. The game has many missteps, first is the story. This is the first game to take place outside of Europe and the Middle East, and occurs during the Revolutionary War. Unfortunately the game does not take advantage of the setting, there are a few instances of stealth on the battlefield that works extremely well, the mission during the Battle of Bunker Hill which ends in the assassination of British General John Pitcairn, being a prime example with both avoiding being killed on the front line and sneaking past the redcoats to finish off their commanding officer. Unfortunately, the story neglects the other parts of the war that would fit within the context of a stealth game, such as the Culper Spy Ring (a group of colonists that were an ealry intelligence gathering group for the Americans during the war, with one member being part of the Assassin Brotherhood). Game play is a bit underwhelming. This is also the first game to drop the mainly urban setting of the prior games, and brings the wilderness of colonial America as part of the game's platforming and setting. The wilderness areas blend together (not surprising, but disappointing none the least). The urban centers in the game such as Boston and New York, do not make up for the blandness of the wilderness, but add to it, in there small size and lack of any kind of distinguishing architecture from each other. The lone bright spot and new addition to the game, is the ship combat. It is fun, fast, responsive, and comes the closest to reaching the scope that the game's setting would leave the player to expect. In the end Assassin's Creed 3 is full of promise but fails to act on it in any capacity, minus the naval combat, and a few bright spots in the campaign. This makes it hard to recommend this game to anyone, even to those who toughed out Revelations.

Just... an... amazing... game! I was so happy about the campaign lenght(40-50 hours) and the creaivity in its making. In older assassin creeds the side missions were sooo boring, not in this one though. Story is very intense as always and the new fighting system is very realistic and cool. There's over a 100 ways connor can kill its enemies. Some ppl say it's very buggy and they're right, BUT NO LONGER. Ubisoft released a new patch yesterday that will fix most of the glitches.

Another great game from ubisoft. Excellent gameplay, especially the time it took place in for the setting. Love the storyline with the redcoats and the historical aspects of the gameplay. I play assassins creed revaluations now because of how bored I got with this one. Once you beat it, there is really nothing much to do then walk around and beat up soldiers. The guys you have to fight ,when you have been fighting for a while ,are a pain. Overall, it's a great game.

    Could be better

I wanted to love this game. And I did. I enjoyed the single player to an extent. But the game seems almost unfinished. I feel it could have been an absolutely fantastic game if they'd just worked on it for 6 more months and cleaned up the bugs and polished up the game in general. The multiplayer mode is almost unplayable. Poor game mode concepts(or poorly implemented), shoddy servers, touchy connections, and virtually no customer support from Ubisoft. I was on track to get platinum on this game until I finished the single player and had to play Multiplayer. For 2 weeks I couldn't even get on the Ubisoft network. Then once I did get online, I was very very disappointed. I mentioned the game seemed unfinished... It seems somewhat unfinished in the single player, but in multiplayer? Multiplayer seems like it's being held together by duct tape. The cheap duct tape with weak adhesive you get at the dollar store. =| Bottom line: Don't get your hopes up. Ubisoft does this a lot. Gets a great concept going and gets it about 90% of the way there before they just give up on it and rush it out to the public to make their money back as quickly as possible. Then to top it off, they have the most poorly maintained network out there. The connection's always hit or miss. They don't fix very many bugs or release patches, yet they seem to have no problem keeping a steady DLC release schedule. And if you ever need support, you're going to be crazed and annoyed in no time at all. It's absolutely worth playing the single player. Just don't go into it expecting what you saw in commercials, screenshots and trailers. And I'd probably avoid trying for platinum. It's not unattainable, but it's not worth the hassle or the wasted time in multiplayer to get it.

This game is going to be so AwEsOmE!!!!! Ubisoft Montreal has no doubt made yet another masterpiece. Seriously, you cannot go wrong with the AC series. By knowing and feeling the ground-breaking masterwork of the series; one can guesstimate the sheer beauty of this installment. Wonderful gameplay, amazing backgrounds, etc., etc.. Also, I cannot wait to visit our American Revolution era. It's going to be wicked sweet. -Forever an assassin, Celeste E.

This game has awesome graphics, storyline , and lastly audio sounds. For all assassin creed fans I will recommend you guys to play this awesome game of storytelling. It is as good as assassin creed revelation of ezio. If you play this game you will be surprise of the story and also the killing of the game. It's about a Indian boy that browns up and her mother died because of his father because of the temples his wanted revenge and tries to save his people for there land. I will rate this game an average of 10 out of 10raying of experience, graphics and others. Hope you love this game and fully understand the story of the brotherhood of assassins.

I loved this game in story mode, it has good graphics, challenging gameplay and plenty of missions to keep you going for a while. It kept me interested for a good while.. The only downfall of the game was the multi-player for me. I thought it needed to be a little better. I got to be pretty good at it after a while of doing it, but really it gets old quick, doing the same thing over and over again. Just my opinion.

AC and Uncharted are the two best franchises out on PS3. AC3 seems to me to be more disjointed and doesn't flow as well as the earlier games in the series. The programming seems to show signs of being rushed with more glitches and hangups than in previous versions. Less training missions to get used to the controls and such. Still would rather play this tho than another apocolyptic war game or zombie shooter. Some of the things that others have pointed out like having to chase a guy but if you catch him you can't attack him unless you have chased him in a very specific way. mostly minor annoyances and still a good game.

By Far the Best of the series

Any true gamer and Assassins Creed fan can easily admit that this is by far the best of the series and one of the best games ever made. Ignore the negative ratings from the casual fops on here. The fighting is amazing and the hunting is fun and innovative. The only thing that annoyed me was the glitches and the outfit customization. Glitches can't be helped with such a large in game world with very few seams.

I admit, I'm not a console gamer. I've been playing PC games for years, but console games have never been my preferred choice. In fact, my PS3 is my first console. So, my lack of experience may affect my ability with this game. The storyline is great, I grew up in western PA, and I know some of the areas that are mentioned in the game. I do have some difficulty controlling the character. If you get too close to objects, the character will try to climb on top of them. Very annoying when you're running after someone or away from someone. There are also some "bugs" with the game. One I encountered just the other night. My task was to kill the Templar leader, which I did pretty easily. Except, the task never completed. I had to search online how to do it. This is a well-known bug, which should have been patched. That's the great thing about console games, the patches are automatic. So why hasn't this one been patched? There are other areas where I had to view online videos to figure out how to get past a task. Again, that may be due to my lack of console experience.

Overall I am a big AC fan, and this is the best game out of the whole series. I loved the historic background that was taking place and how you were able to play in some famous battles but not all of them. There are some glitches in the game which sometimes made it frustrating to play at times but hey every game isn't perfect. I also wish the navel missions had some more ties into the main missions, but they were some of my favorite to play. I wish the storyline was a bit longer, the side missions are a lot of fun to play but I was hoping for more main missions rather then secondary. But defiantly buy the game overall it is still worth buying because I am still playing after I completed it and I cant get enough of it.
