I already owned the game on steam but my wide wanted it for her ps4. Its a great game in one of my favorite periods in history. Enjoyable story, excellent visuals ans a change in gameplay from the previous assassins creed titles. A change that i truly am thankful for!

As a fan of Assassin's Creed series, this game is pretty up there. It has beautiful graphics and storyline intertwined with real historical events. The game provides a vast open world that doesn't force you into following the main storyline, but rather allowing you to venture off to explore the land, help free captured villagers or assist allies in defeating an enemy ambush. There is also a skill tree that allows you to level up the character based on your style of gameplay. There is so much more I have not mentioned, but highly suggested to play!

Good game, nice gateway into giant open world assassins creed games. Not as good as AC Valhalla or AC odyssey but still very fun

Fresh gameplay to a stale series

As 10 year old IP with Origins being the 10th mainline game release (not counting the portable games), gamers will get tired of the same old formula. However, Origins changed a lot from the previous games in the series such as turning this into an open world game, adding a skill tree with leveling up, weapons with stats, etc. These changes gave the game a fresh new style, and was quite a nice change. Stepping away from the yearly release cycle also showed positive results. Ubisoft had more time to polish this game since they didn't have a rushed schedule to meet like in previous years. They got 3.5 years of development time instead of the standard 2, and that extra time really shows.

I've been playing an average of 3 days a week for over 3 weeks for 3+ hours at a time and I'm not even half way through. I've played every AC game made for the Playstation so I was looking forward to AC Origins and I have not been disappointed. This game will keep you busy with not only the main mission but there's so many side quests that a game could have been made of that alone. If you are a fan of AC games then just buy this one... you won't be disappointed.

Even with all the spectacular releases this year from Mario and Zelda to Horizon and Wolfenstein, AC Origins manages to be my absolute favorite game of the year. With an engaging open world,, fun side quests, a great narrative, beautiful soundtrack, and an ACTUALLY rewarding progression system, everything comes together for Origins to be an amazing game and objectively top two or top three in the series depending on preference. Assassins Creed is back.

This was a decent Creed game, not the best, but not the worst either. Has some very interesting elements to it, pretty cool open world with some fun missions and character. Combat and stealth is pretty solid. Definitely worth checking out, and is a much better game than AC Odyssey.

The Assassin's Creed series was certainly getting stale with the yearly releases Thankfully, Ubisoft saw this and waited an extra year to release Origins, which is certainly a breathe of fresh air, as it plays a little differently than the usual AC faire. An almost Dark Souls-like combat and a fantastic open world makes for one of the better entries in the franchise.

It seems that they have morphed a couple different games into one here, in my opinion. The ability to craft items and collect random stuff to sell, or craft in order to level up seems familiar, likewise with the different weapons to pick up with various levels that they can be used at. The controls and everything is different as well with having to unlock abilities versus, having them or crafting them. All-in-all stil a good game, although I get stuck, by choice, doing all the die things over the actual missions.

Having little experience with the Assassins Creed history I decided to give it a go after reading some reviews. I was blown away by how gorgeous this game is. Add in the side missions didn’t feel repetitive and the setting of Egypt and this one is a must! Can’t recommend it enough.

I haven't had time to play a whole lot but from what I have played, this is a great re-entry into the series after a short break. The last truly great AC game was Black Flag but this game is giving it a run for its top spot. Great gameplay, great music and atmosphere and the world is huge and so much fun to explore from what I've done so far.

I’m not a hardcore gamer, and I’ve only played a couple AC games before but I gave the new one a try because it was on sale for Black Friday and have enjoyed it. The gameplay is always fun, the graphics are great and the open world map is huge. If you’re on the fence about AC titles in general pick this one up. You’ll enjoy it

If you've played other games in this franchise then you know what to expect from this and you won't be disappointed. Getting to roam around ancient Egypt is really cool. I really like that there is minimal times of going back to present day as that to me has always been the worst part of the AC games.

Possibly the best AC game next to Brotherhood and Black Flag. Incredible setting, ancient Egypt has never looked so good. Decent quests but more importantly just a HUGE world to explore and unlock. All in glorious 4K. If you like the series or single player open world games, this is a must have in 2017.

Assassin's Creed was getting old, repetitive, and buggy. Use Unity for example. This game is no way near that! It took AC basics and revamped it, fixed it all and made a great game with a story and main character to love. New to the series, or wounded from the past, good for you to start.

I am excited to continue playing these Assassin's games. This game is no different. I know people have dogged on the past versions but I have enjoyed them all. This one takes a step back to the original ones by heading back to Egyptian times. Just a good game to kill time with for hours.

Best installment of assassin's Creed to date (in my opinion). Gets repetitive like most other games but the combat is engaging and the setting/visuals are amazing! I'm playing on hard and it seems too easy, however. Still, one of the most enjoyable games I've played in quite a while.

I absolutely love this game (even though I know I'm late to the party). I have always been a fan of the Assassin's Creed games but this one in particular is really fun. The open world and even bigger push for RPG elements make this a must play! I highly recommend this game!

    A New Era for AC

AC: Origins takes the familiar Assassin's Creed formula and changes it up pretty dramatically. It was probably time for some fresh ideas to hit the series and that's exactly what Ubisoft brought with this entry, adding more RPG elements and changing up how combat works. You now have a leveling system that you use to progress to higher level missions and foes along the way and will be changing out gear for more rare/higher level equipment throughout your journey through Egypt. This encourages more experimentation with the large assortment of options at your disposal and offers more choices for you to make about your load-outs going into varying combat scenarios. Speaking of combat, it's more active now and you will find yourself not being able to rely on the counter/quick assassination kills combat found in previous games. You'll be forced to change up your tactics and deal with multiple enemies at once both ranged and in melee combat. The game has a large skill tree of abilities to unlock to help you deal with these situations better as you level up. The story is pretty good; I wouldn't say it's anything too great, but it tells a decent revenge story and has a likable protagonist in Bayek (perhaps the first since Ezio in the older AC games). The biggest character of the game would be the setting itself. Egypt is beautiful to explore: whether you find yourself along the banks of the Nile river, in the sweltering deserts, or lost in its sprawling cities, AC: Origins depicts the scale and culture of Egypt brilliantly. Make sure to visit the pyramids! The game looks gorgeous and runs well on a PS4 Pro as well. Perhaps the biggest flaw with the game is the lack of interesting side content. I found there to be too many meaningless/uninteresting side objectives and it makes the game feel a little bloated. I always appreciate quality over quantity, and as with most Ubisoft games, I would say they kill you with quantity. There's certainly over 100 hours worth of things to do, if you value a game in that way; I just wish it were tighter and more focused at doing some things really well instead. It can seem a bit overwhelming, but you'll find yourself able to get lost in this world as well if you so desire. Overall, it's a great game with room for improvement. It definitely benefited from a longer development cycle and some time away. If you'e feeling open world fatigue, this isn't the game for you, but otherwise it's worth your time.
