Short Version: Observations / Pros / Cons: On my PC, pairing isn’t instant, as I have to press the button on the USB adapter every reboot. It’s a roughly 4 second hold for power on/off. Audible beeps for EQ mode (1/2/3) - but what are they? Game vs Talk modes. FPS / RPG / Sports? What’s the point of the modes? There is flex in the mic, so you have to lift close to the base to lit for mute / height adjustment. Ear pads are comfortable for extended play. No technical or battery problems wearing the headphones for extended sessions. The packaging was simple and the headphones were totally wrapped in plastic. The USB adapter got shuffled a bit in shipping, but no physical issues were seen. For the past year or so, I’ve been using a different vendor’s ‘Pro’ “wired” headset and it’s been great, so moving to a Wireless headset had me a bit skeptical when it comes to responsiveness. I’ve tried Bluetooth headphones and earbuds before - and they’ve been very laggard, so I was curious as to how these would perform. For proper fitting, I do need to extend the ear pieces to the longest position but found that it’s equally as comfortable without a hat, as it is with one. The fabric ear cushions are soft and there’s more breathability than a pleather-type ear cushion. I found myself taking them off less, to cool my ears off, so I’m happy in that regard. I charged them out of the box and it took around an hour for the blinking amber light to stay solid. As there isn’t an easy way to see battery level, I used the headphones for about 12 hours across a few days without charging them. Because there is no battery indicator, I charged them after those 12 hours as I didn’t want to run out of battery life. Now, I just plug them in every night when I go to sleep. So far, I have used it for Warzone & Cold War (beta at the time of this writing) on the PC and PGA 2K21 for the PS4 and I really like this headset. Some Observations … not Pros or Cons: When you grab the ear piece to make audio adjustments, the buttons are on an inner section, not the one that your thumbs gravitate to normally, which at first was confusing. Pros: For me, it’s comfortable with a hat or without. The weight is comparable to my “Pro” wired headset even with all of the extra electronics in it. The sounds are insanely detailed. My other headset has a DAC and I don’t even get these sounds. I wonder if I’ve mis-tuned it and have been missing out for months. I’m quite impressed, actually! For the PS4, proper paring to the dongle didn’t involve any interaction like it does on the PC. Price! At this price point and for this quality, it’s a win! Concerns: For the PC, I seem to need to ‘pair’ it every day via the button on the USB adapter and there's no way to tell how much battery is left (that I came across). I’ve found that it’s easy to take the headset off & hit the EQ button with my thumb and then have to cycle back through, to the mode that I like. Mic is only left-side capable. The adapter is rather ‘old school’ - it’s not part of a dongle so it has to stick straight out, so I keep it on a rear port, so I don’t destroy the adapter + my USB port with an accidental swing of my legs. Additionally, there’s no DAC as part of the USB interface; there is also no software to customize the experience on PC. There are audible beeps for EQ mode (1/2/3) - but what are they? I’d really like to know what the different EQ presets are for and why I should consider one over the other. When playing, I’m more focused on the game than trying to guess-tune the experience. Finally … Game vs Talk modes. FPS / RPG / Sports? What’s the point of the modes? In the first few days of using this, I experienced choppy audio during Warzone Match searching screen on the PC. I’m not sure what contributed to that, but I’ve never heard or experienced that before with my wired USB headset. It also only lasted a few days. If you can get by the 'concerns' - this is a great wireless headset that rivals my wired, 'Pro,' DAC customizable headset. For this price, get one.

Love astro products. As someone who goes through headsets like crazy and with a big head (haha) i love how flexible this headset is. Its also definitely childproof. My son loves to steal my headset alot.

The entire headset is made from plastic which makes it rather lightweight for its overall size at 318 grams but at the same time doesn’t feel all that cheap. I didn’t notice any significant creaking that most cheaper plastic headsets have. There is some flexibility which is good as this helps with comfort. The earcups don’t swivel but they do move up and down to adjust for head size whether that be small or huge. Clamping force is mild. Ear cushions are breathable and soft. Overall comfort is great. I’d rate it a 9/10. On the right earcup you have all your controls. Going from top to bottom this includes the power button which requires light pressure with a nice feel. If held it will power on or off with a little jingle along with turning on/off the white LED. The profile button feels the same as the power button and will give you a single beep for profile one, two beeps for profile two, and three beeps for profile three. I don’t know what these profiles are because Astro doesn’t let you know. You also cannot connect it to Astro Command Center to adjust anything or look at anything like you could with the previous generation which is disappointing. Perhaps this will become available with a firmware update. Below the profile button is the voice button, then the volume wheel, and then the game button. The voice/game buttons are used to try and balance chat and game. It comes in 12 total steps. The buttons require severe pressure to adjust. You have no idea which step you are on, except for it beeping when you hit min or max. On the A50’s you will hear a beep again when in the middle. I wish they would have added that to these guys. Instead you have to count it out. The volume wheel has distinct steps, is infinite, does not wobble, and feels mildly stiff making it feel great. Overall, I think the controls are simple and intuitive. The USB transmitter is small. About the size of a thumb drive. It is sleek appearing. It has a small button on it which requires a moderate amount of pressure with a crisp click. It has two LED’s. The first LED is blue which means it is on console mode. The second LED is white which means it is on PC mode. When in pairing mode both LED will be on. You switch to console/PC mode by pressing the button and go into pairing mode by holding it. The first transmitter I had was defective and would NOT switch over to PC mode but would work just fine on console mode. That was a bit strange. I reached out to Astro and they sent me a new one which works well. But I’ve had some issues with that as well on the PC side. With it not switching over without going to a different USB slot. I saw another review with the same issue. So, keep an eye out for that. I found the sound, especially for this price point, to be fantastic. I would say it’s just as good as my A50’s and also compares very closely with my much more expensive headphones/earphones that cost considerably more which is great for these guys and not so great for the competition. It has great mids, highs, and bass. They are all balanced well. It has a more fun excited tone to it which makes you feel more immersed. The sounds are also accurate. Sound stage iis good and allows the directional audio/imaging to be spot on. I can easily tell where people are located in games whether that be single player, multiplayer or with music with instruments and voices. You can also hear when a lot of things are going on at the same time and pick apart the individual parts. Few headsets can do both gaming (single and multiplayer) along with music well. Especially at this price range. So, I’m genuinely blown away. Audiophile terms for the sound: It has an airy transparent type sound that is very analytical with great balance. The bass hits hard with a nice punch and is accurate. But bass heads won’t think it’s enough but they have it at a spot where it adds to the experience without ruining the other parts of the sound. Mids sound good. Highs are also crisp without being sharp, sibilant, or harsh. I notice a lot of detail with a fun tuning that gets you pumped up. Imaging and directional audio are great. Sounds are natural with a medium sized soundstage. I did not notice any bloat, congestion. I’m actually extremely impressed with this headset. As you get almost all of the features of the more expensive headsets such as the A50 except for the base station, as flexible of a headset, and the ability to use Astro Command Center. It comes in at a very attractive price for the amount of tech you get out of it. Sporting 2.4 GHz low latency audio that performs brilliantly and goes up to 50 feet, a 15 hour battery life, USB C charging, chat/voice balance, auto turn off after 10 minutes, side tone, different presets, flip to mute microphone, sounds great for its price range, and is very comfortable. You can also buy another transmitter and make it work on both consoles without buying a new headset. Outside of the transmitter being defective for me and the usual defects that plague Astro of connection issues, difficulty getting the microphone to work, the microphone breaking, and getting competent in adjusting voice/chat balance and you’ve got yourself a real winner. You may want to consider a protection plan. Just simply because Astro Support leaves a lot to be desired and not having to deal with them will help with your sanity. The reason I didn't give it five stars was the defective transmitter. And overall issues I had with the transmitter getting to work with my PC even with the working one. It wasn't as plug and play as I wanted it to be.

Featuring the all new A20 wireless gen 2's, it's clear no punches are being pulled as Astro sets the bar for the next generation of audio technology. During my time with this product, (playstation, PC version), I was immediately impressed by the familiar yet updated and surprisingly lightweight design. The headset fits firmly and comfortably around my head, even with glasses. I had no issues with long term fatigue or warmer temperatures typically found with other headsets. Out of the gate, setup was easy and straight forward when connecting to my ps4. Turn it on, plug in the receiver, pair and done. Wires are so last-gen and the connectivity distance is very reasonable. Battery life is equally as impressive with an estimated 15 hours, that's easily a week's worth of gaming for me with no charge. I was also pleased to have 3 preset EQ settings that adapted to the type of game I was playing. In terms of audio, Astro knocked it out of the park. Over 5 hours in and I'm still awestruck by the level of detail showcased in the 40 mm speakers. Surround sound takes the stage and you will not be disappointed. From fast paced high octane fps gameplay, where every footstep counts, to the sound of your engine switching gears as you round a corner in a race, to the field where crowds roar and the impact of your tackle trembles on screen. This headset truly transcends you into the game world, with sound you can feel. Mic quality is top notch with others able to hear me clearly with no popping or static noise. Immersion is fully realized here and if your looking for your next headset to jump in and game with your best mates, I highly recommend the A20 gen 2's.

Total garbage. Lack of Bluetooth capability. Returned due to a defective product. Ended up getting a Corsair HS55 with Bluetooth for $20 less, better built, and with Bluetooth.

So far using these headsets for my PS4 and PC have proven to me that in the price range (mid tier), these perform all-around exceptionally well. Pairing is different from PS4 vs PC. Plugging in the dongle for the PS4 and pairing the for the 1st time is quick, easy and painless. After that, once you turn off, sleep or charge, it pairs 100% every time without a hitch. PC on the other hand is pressing the pair button on the USB dongle and holding the pair button on the head set it self (roughly 4-5 secs) every time you reboot/restart. Sound is great for the PC as you can use an equalizer to adjust to your liking. PS4 you're stuck with presets (and to me they ALL sound the same) so I left it on ASTRO. Bass isn't overpowering, highs are highs and lows are lows. Playing some FPS's like CoD, BF, Apex Legends, etc and all sound really good. Muting the mic takes some getting used to. Especially if you're doing FPS. You literally have to move the mic all the way up to mute and bring it back down for "always" on. Gets kind of annoying after a while vs other brands that just have a mute button. But that is the reason they are wireless I guess. The feel and comfort to me is really good. Unlike other brands, Astro choose the "cloth" cushion instead of the leathery feel most other use. I am quite surprise at the comfort from that. Gaming for about 4 hours (from a full charge) and my ear area was just a little warm. Not hot or sweaty at all. This also makes is feel like a premium headset but not really. It is mainly plastic and lightweight but still feels solid and well built. Color is nice as they are future proofing (?) lol to match the PS5. As for the battery life, I have playing roughly 12-13 hours total on a single charge and it has yet to die. I am super happy that it is a USB-C port too. I also want to point out the mic sound quality (according to my teammates) was good. I had only 1 complaint when my teammates were telling me I sounded like a robot drowning underwater. But I unplugged the headset and repaired and boom, worked like a champ. Every other time I had no complaints from anyone. All heard me loud and clear.

I purchased this product back in 2023, and I have never been more happy with a purchase! This headset's battery life is RIDICULOUS! I go sometimes a full week before charging it. I believe it advertises 17 hours, something like that. I've used it for longer I can promise you that, even after almost 2 years of owning it. It's light weight on my head, it's never once had connection issues, and the audio is so good! There are multiple different settings to adjust just on the headset, along with the many different options on the PS5 itself! Fully recommend this product to anyone!! (I was able to use it on my PC, but I had to play with the settings a bit for it to work, but once connected, it works the same as PS5)

The Astro A20 wireless headset is a great entry level budget headset. Even though it brings just the basics, at the end of the day the basics is sometimes all you need. Hopefully this review will help to determine if this is right for you. First off lets talk about what you can expect to receive right out of the box. A headset and USB-C drive, that's it. Sounds too simplistic to be any good right? Well let me start by saying as a owner of the A50 series the A20 is pretty robust and well built. Yes the frame is a plastic frame but that doesn't mean its not sturdy or uncomfortable for that matter. As a matter of fact the first thing i noticed while trying this headset on was just how comfortable it actually was. So im one of those guys that has trouble finding a good headset i can game with for hours without it giving me headaches due to un-mitigated pressure points. I found that after gaming for about 3 hours i had forgotten they were on my head and also felt no specific pressure points due to a poor build. This was nice and at the same time disappointing due to the fact that my more expensive headsets struggle to accomplish this level of comfort. Now set up for the ps4 and pc was really basic which was a breath of fresh air. For my PC set up it was simply plug in the wireless connector to your usb port and bam your done. No apps to download, no lengthy instructions to read, just simply plug and play. On the headset you will find your mic on the left side of your headset. The mic is a flip up/down design which im a fan of. Simply flip the mic down to turn it on and talk and flip it up to mute. This design makes it easier to remember rather or not your mic is on which can save you an embarrassing moment online by not realizing that it is on. To the right you will find your power button, sound button and dial that raises game or chat volume based on which way you spin it. Voice chat quality is superb where as in game sound quality is average. Average is ok as you can still make everything out and sounds are nice, crisp, and clean. While the quality can seem a little bland at times you can still make out which direction certain sounds are coming from. But hey you need to understand that you will not get studio quality at this price point. Fully charging the headset took about a hour and a full charged headset yielded me roughly about 16 hours of gameplay which isn't half bad. Not the greatest battery life but far from being bad. Now don't expect a whole lot of customization on this headset like you can find on the other Astro units. The earcups do not detach like the magnetic held ones and i may be wrong but changing the exoskeleton is very limited in design. Overall guys this is a great headset at this price point and probably one the best you can find in my opinion. When it comes to gaming i personally feel you only need 3 things to be happy. A headset that is comfortable, provides good voice quality with decent sounds, and good battery life. Everything else past that is just bells and whistles you wish to add on. Most cheap headsets i have tested definitely prove the point of "you get what you pay for." However i never once felt that way with this headset. While the design may feel flimsy and cheap its actually very durable and can withstand falling off a computer desk multiple times without breaking. Sound quality isn't great but its not horrible either. And lastly the comfort level is what made me really fall in love with this unit. Most cheap headsets won't last a hour before i start to become uncomfortable and feel the need to take them off. So should you buy them? Well that depends. If your looking for a budget friendly headset that can keep up with the best of them, than ya this is almost a sure fire bet. Now if you have all this disposable income and your looking for the cream of the crop then it's obliviously not the headset for you. pros: -hours upon hours of comfort -Solid battery life -fast charge times cons: -Average sound quality -Lack of a charging dock or stand

The Astro A20 Wireless Gaming Headset (Gen 2) is a nice mid tier gaming headset. Pros: * Aesthetics - A nice looking headset with a modern white and blue color combination. * Comfort - The headset is lightweight and flexible with cloth ear cups. I prefer cloth ear cups compared to leather ear cups as my ears do not get as hot during long gaming sessions. I have worn this headset for around 4 hours of continuous gaming without experiencing any headset fatigue. * Wireless performance/range - The headset connects to a PC, PlayStation, or Mac with a USB dongle. I tested it using a PC; although, I am looking forward to using it with the PS5 when it comes out. It claims a range of 50 feet which is believable. I have not had any issues with it cutting out even when walking into a different room. * Audio quality - The audio quality is respectable and immersive. I predominantly play FPS games and had no problem determining enemy player movement/location. I have not experienced any crackling or distortion with highs, mids, or bass. * Battery life - I charged the headset to full prior to using it with the provided USB-C charging cable. I am nearing 12 hours of use and still have not needed to charge it. I appreciate the long charging cable as this is often an oversight I have seen with other competitors. Cons: * Mic - Having used a large variety of headsets from budget to top tier, the mic on this headset is pretty disappointing. While the speech is understandable, the sound is muffled. Hopefully, this can be remedied with a firmware patch or addressed in future generations of this headset. A solid mic could take this headset to the next level. * Build material - The headset is made out of plastic. Other headsets within the mid tier price point often have at least partial aluminum construction and will be more durable. Overall, the Astro A20 Wireless Gaming Headset (Gen 2) is a great plug and play option for PC, PlayStation, or Mac.

Great headset, its very comfy, even to me that I wear glasses. I played with them for about a couple of hours and they didn't give me any pain The construction seem very solid and it has several level of adjustments for different head sizes/shapes. The microphone is decent and my friends told me sounded natural, and its a flip up mic, so if you flip it up, it mutes your voice. It can work with either a PS4 or a PC. I tried it on a PC. It was easy to plug in the USB receiver and then turn on the headset, pairing was automatic. One thing that took me a while to figure out, is the little button on the USB receiver, if you press it once, lights up WHITE, that is the PC mode, if you press it another time, it lights up BLUE, that's the PS4 mode, if you don't do that, the PC won't output sound. The included manual is very basic and didn't mention anything of these, its just a bunch of pictures and no directions, should be better. Other than that, the sound was great, very warm and with decent enough base. It does not have any surround effects included, it depends on you buying either dolby atmos or dts sound from the windows store for surround sound, which are excellent and cheap too. Battery life has been good, one full charge has lasted me about 3 days of 2 hours sessions each. I hope these are compatible with the new PS5 console, but I guess that's on Sony, not Astro. Highly recommend them to anyone looking for a simple wireless solution without cumbersome base stations and what not, with great sound!

These are the best bang for the buck. Long charge life, and the Real 3D sound is next level, even on Hunt Showdown which has the best sound of any Gabe. Mic can me muted simply by sliding it into the up position. Plug and play. Just plugged the usb piece in the PlayStation and it worked instantly. I can chat while across the house in the other room if I have to run to the kitchen in between matches.

The Astro A20 Wireless headset is a good gaming headset with great sound. Out of the box the headset comes with the USB transmitter and a USB type-A to USB type-C charging cable. The USB dongle is huge at 2” when plugged in, long by today’s standards. The type-C charging cable is a nice addition as it is much more durable than micro USB. First impression of the A20’s was reminiscent of Star Wars gear; they look amazingly cool and ready for Gaming! The exterior of the headset is made entirely out of plastic which is a bit rigid. The headband flexes the most but held up to excessive twisting. Earcups are made from the same cloth as other Logitech headsets which felt comfortable even during extended periods of use. Headband material is made of a rubber-like material which is comfortable as well. The earpieces do not twist/swivel front to rear like similar gaming headsets. The feeling of the headset when I touch them is an overly plastic tactile sensation with accompanying plastic sound to the ear, not an upscale impression. Controls on the headset are easily accessible nicely designed and effortlessly controlled in the middle of gaming or chatting. With “Astro Audio V2” technology the headphones have exceptional sound with three preset EQ settings easily accessible with a single button. The integrated microphone sounds noticeably clear and is outstanding compared to similar headset microphones. Key specs: • Frequency response: 20 Hz - 20 kHz • Sensitivity: 100 dB SPL 1kHz @ 1mW • Nominal impedance: 32 Ohm • Total harmonic distortion: < 3% (20 Hz - 10 kHz) The headset is intended to last over 15 hours off a single charge; however, my headset never ran out of charge, probably thanks to the 10-minute auto shutdown “feature”. The auto shutdown had me constantly having to restart my headphones frequently when no audio is playing. Found the auto shutdown to be annoying and an option to turn off the auto shutdown would be welcomed. With the charging cable being quite long you can continue gaming while on charge. Nice. With a 2.4ghz connection the headset’s range is 15 feet. Expected a bit longer range from the size of the transmitter but this should not affect anything. Did notice that when the headphones are almost out of range you get a popping sound, which is not a significant issue. Delivering wonderful audio with an extremely attractive price point makes the Astro A20 Wireless headset a solid choice if you are looking to go wireless.

I picked up the gaming headset for use with my Playstation 4 and wanted something that would be compatible with my upcoming Playstation 5 upgrade. I also used it with my Mac Pro. The headset offers a comfortable over the year fit with soft ear cushions that also accommodate my glasses which is nice (something that has been a challenge in the past with other headsets). The wireless connection is solid. The manufacturer claims up to 50ft distance. I am a lot closer than that where I sit, but I've not had any connectivity issues. The sound is good for a gaming headset. The USB transmitter makes it very easy to move use from my PS4 to my Mac and I really like the "Flip-to-Mute" microphone which has great pickup.
