Had to get this because I'm a huge halo fan! Use it mainly for gaming but if you get a Cable from the Astro Gaming Website, you can get a usb plug where u could plug into your PC without the need of your mix amp, and still get the 7.1 dolby digital! It's call the USB TX. With that I use this headset for almost everything I can plug it into!

Being a a previous owner of TB headsets, I decided to try out the Astro A50. I was looking for nice great surround sound with a BOOM! and Astro delivered it. I was very pleased with the sound quality overall even when watching movies. BUT then it came the mic, its terrible! it has no mic monitoring at all!!! Players can hear me in chat but i couldn't hear myself and it came to the point where i had to shout.. No matter what firmware they promise to fix, it will be an external issue. Going back to TB.

I thought that for the price I paid I would have experienced a better Surround sound. It does have noise cancellation. The thing that was a big fail was the Mic, its Choppy. I just learned that you can use any headset that you like, like beats.... all you need is the adapter for xbox. will be returning this big let down. :(

I purchased this product for the simple reason that I hate cords while I game and I love Halo and the Master Chief. This item is NOT completely wireless it just runs off batteries, you still have to plug a wire in to the controller defeating the purpose of it being "WIRELESS". For $300 it should be completely wireless. Besides that downfall the sound is AMAZING!!!!
