This chrome book is not user friendly. Signing in is complicated when you go from one WiFi network to another. It does not recognize password and you have to change passwords constantly. There is only one plug for devices such as mouse and keyboards.

I certainly understand your concern on how to use a Chromebook. It comes with a web or cloud base OS that is fast, secured and easy to use. Since it is a web base OS it does require a Google or Gmail account and an internet connection in order to use or operate it properly. The username and password will only be setup once and changing the password is not necessary. If this is your first experience with a Chromebook, I recommend using the HELP file incorporated within the OS. Two stars maybe over rating but I am trying to be fair on the product. But when your third grader said it’s to slow to do his home work, it’s slow and possibly only good as a web access point and emailing.

All ASUS products undergo intensive quality control testing and inspections, and are built to last, this is a random problem.
To verify if the battery is really dead, please try to disconnected the AC adapter and drain the battery completely, at least 24 hours. Once fully-drained, please reconnect the AC adapter, do not power on the Chromebook until the battery was charged.
