This is quite possibly the slowest computer I have ever had the misfortune to own and use. Using any apps (Excel, Word, etc.), I can type faster than the words can appear on the screen. I have AT&T's 18gb Uverse, and Internet use is maddeningly slow. I'd love to blame AT&T, but unfortunately it's this snail-paced computer's processing speed. The left and right mouse buttons are integrated into the mouse pad, and if you don't play close attention to where you place your finger, you're going to end up with a right click instead of a left ... when the buttons are separate, you can feel it. And speaking of the mouse pad ... it hangs up constantly. Tapping in the center of the pad usually "wakes it up," but you have to be careful about how lightly you touch it to wake it up or you will accidentally click whatever the mouse happened to be sitting on when. This is quite possibly the worst piece of technology I have ever purchased. Not only would I not recommend it to a friend, I wouldn't recommend it to an enemy either.

We were looking for a computer that our son could use for school work and play some games on. Since it is summer time, he hasn't had to use it for school yet; but he described it as being a bit "laggy" while playing games. Didn't want to shell the bucks for a real gaming computer.

NOT a gaming laptop

This is not a gaming laptop...but it CAN play some games at playable settings. If you're into LoL you can play on max with shadow quality on medium or low and get 45+ fps consistently. Rocket League on medium settings. Even Star Wars Battlefront (yes the new one) on medium @ 720p. These are just a few things I tried on it so far, but the purpose I got this laptop for was for school. It is worlds better than the intel things my campus issued to my class last year. Everything is fast and responsive. Having two options for connecting to internet (wifi or hardwire) is a God send. It's got a disc drive (a big deal for some ppl. I just thought it was nice. Makes copying cd's on it easier).
My only real complaint is...the keyboard doesn't light up lol That's it.
In a nutshell: You can play some modern generation games at lower settings and resolutions, but if that's not what you're getting it for then it makes a very good performing laptop for your school needs or even as just a daily driver.
