For the price I paid (799 + tax) it's a extremely good value. Went ahead and bought a separate RAM upgrade to take the total up to 16GB and it's a powerful and capable machine.
The screen is a bit disappointing but this is known as ASUS reserved their better 15" display for the G series.
Battery life has been good even though this version has the smaller battery.
Touchpad is average for scrolling and okay otherwise.
Speed and performance in day-to-day work use is exceptional.
Gaming performance is above average and may put a few laptops priced twice as much as I paid to shame.
No heating issues. Fan does run loud during heavier gaming but cools very quickly once I am done with the game.

Can't beat this deal. I added an additional 1TB M.2 SSD, upgraded to 32GB of ram and even with those costs added this is still a screaming deal. I bought it on sale but even at full price you can't beat the CPU and GPU specs.
It has a total of 3 hard drive bays. 2 M.2 SSD and one 2.5" bay. Ram is said to be 32GB max but you can order this with 64GB, so take that for what you will.
Yea, the 60hz display isn't the best but that doesn't matter to me as most of the time I'm gaming I'm using my Oculus Quest 2, which is does great with. It does fine for traditional games, unless you're a competition gamer, in which case your budget should be at least twice when this rig costs anyway.

This is a great computer for the money. It has a a great deal of power and the 2060 is a relatively good card. The heat can get high, not sure many laptops at this price point don't. This is only when stressing the system. However, this is not sustained but just a spike. The screen is what most people might have a problem with but it gets the job done. Again considering the price tremendous performance for the price!

I didn't originally intend to get a computer that could play the most cutting edge games, and since I don't have any of those, I can't say if it'd handle them, however the games I've tried so far all can run at max detail, and I've seen no issues with handling that. Yes, the fan can get a little loud, however that'll happen with most any gaming laptop. I've also done development work on this laptop, and it compiles quicker than my old computer. I'm sure another 8GB RAM would help even more, but I've not really needed it.
I'd suggest this computer for anyone looking for a very well rounded computer they want to use for games and anything else. My next thing I'll try will be video editing.

This laptop is nothing short of amazing. Both the CPU and GPU perform as well as or better than any laptop within $300-500 dollars more than this one. The fan noise is very reasonable while playing games and can be silent or very low while just using the computer. The screen is not that bad, perfectly acceptable for this price range. RAM is easily upgraded. It comes with a single 8GB micron DDR4-3200 stick, for less than $40 you can get a matching stick from crucial (owned by micron) to bring total to 16GB.
The laptop also looks much better than I thought it would. The keyboard is a big ugly to me, but very minor complaint for the price. The track pad works fairly well. I think most people would have at least an external mouse anyway.
This is not the best laptop for portability due to larger weight and lower battery life, but that is to be expected with a gaming laptop. If you plan to use external monitor, keyboard, mouse with this laptop then it is far and away the best bang for the buck you can get without any negatives. If you plan to use this laptop as a mobile device while traveling or rely only on built in monitor it is still a fantastic value but perhaps isn’t the best choice depending on performance / price budget restrictions.

This laptop does everything I need it to do very well. Sadly it does not do everything I want it to do. I am Very frustrated by that fact that ALL of the laptop manufactures chose to shortchange AMD this year. AMD holds the #1 #2 and #3 spots for Mobile CPU. This is one of the reasons i chose this model. With Zen2 Processors taking the world by storm in 2019 why then are there no High End laptop using Zen2 CPUs? What I wanted was a 17" 144hz display with a RTX 2070, 16GB of RAM and a 4800h CPU. NO ONE has that. I was forced to chose between at 17" display and a RTX 2060. To top things off If I wanted to Upgrade to at 4800HS I had to give up the 10key portion of the keyboard. Why?
Pro's
Light weight
has real mouse buttons on the touch pad
keyboard has a good feel for me (subjective)
I don't see reflections in the display
4800h will out run any Non-overclocked Intel processor
has 2 NVME slots
Con's
only comes with 8GB of RAM
Fans will get loud if you do not use this on a powered cooling pad
would have liked to have seen a second USB on the right side
Unexpected
Hidden in the box were the components needed to add a 2.5inch drive. why is this not listed in the Specs?
There is a USB type C port on the left side that is also not listed.
How many times does the Listing need to be updated?
Final Thoughts
If you need a laptop now or want a 15" laptop this one is a great deal as long as you are willing to add memory. though at this time Best Buy does not sell the 3200MHZ memory that this laptop needs. If you can wait I would recommend waiting till next year and hopefully when the Zen3 laptops come out ASUS will offer a TRUE gaming laptop.

For $800 when it was on sale, I thought it was a great deal for a laptop. You can barely get the same specs out of a desktop build. This is only a 60hrz screen and you can’t upgrade it even if you wanted to.
If anything, personally I think the $1200 version of this model is much more worth it. You get a 144hrz screen, plus the bigger battery and the extra storage and ram. You would spend that kind of money just to upgrade everything in the 60hrz version which is this laptop. Both are amazing quality but the $1200 one is way better.

Pros: Superb bang for the buck, which I can't remember finding any deals like that at Best Buy since I discovered computers and parts could be bought online. Actually more powerful than my desktop with virtually identical hardware; only difference is I upgraded this to 32 GB of RAM vs 8 GB in my desktop. Hard to not recommend based on most of my usage.
Cons: It has always had issues with Steam reconnecting after hibernation. Until today I thought it was Steam. The last few days it's been having to restart to even connect to my home network wifi after hibernation and I thought it was my wifi...until today. I've now verified that other hardware is still connected to my wifi when this laptop refuses to, and a Google search has revealed this specific model has a known issue with its wifi card going bad. Not sure if it's just the Best Buy version or all of this model.
Other: There was confusion among many people when Best Buy released their version of this model. Yes, it's only a 60hz monitor and the battery is smaller. I still use a 60hz monitor for my desktop, though, so I don't find that a con when I'm not looking to pay an extra $300 for a 140% framerate boost. After upgrading this to 4x the RAM and 3x the hard drive space (all nVME SSD) it was still that much cheaper than similar specced laptops elsewhere...at the original specs, not what I upgraded it to. It was something like $600 cheaper than ones similar to what I upgraded it to.
The wifi issue is kind of worrisome, but as long as it stays just needing to restart to fix it'll just be irritating. If it gives out entirely I'll become angry, but word is the replacement card is cheap, so I'll probably still have saved money.

For $899 the rtx 2060 paired with ryzen 4800 cpu is amazing! The only drawback is the 60hz monitor buuuuuuuut you can easily upgrade it to 144hz if your willing to open her up. Runs warzone fine on high settings hitting 60fps easy (will most likely hit 144fps after monitor upgrade). Recommended for those who are willing to tear it down for maximum value. There are other models that have better screens but your stuck with the weaker 1660 GPU.

You have one of the better CPUs in the Ryzen 7 4800h. You have a full RTX2060. All this under a 1000. Those don't come without a sacrifice though. The screen isn't for photo editing or competitive FPS games, but I use an LG QHD 144Hz Gsync Monitor anyways. Track pad is bad, but no worries, I have use a mouse and a mechanical keyboard.
This is my main gaming rig, so to speak.
This can run COD:MW Multiplayer on 1440p with high settings and a few tweeks like turning of anti-aliasing and ray tracing. I can get about 80-90FPS on high settings. On 1080p, depending on settings, you'll hover around 120fps, if not more. Oh yeah, let me add, this game makes the laptop hot, like 80 degrees or more Celsius. On my other laptop I sold that had a 1660Ti Max Q, it would go around 76-78 degrees Celcius. There is a way to slowdown or prevent turbo boosts, just google or check reddit.
AC:Odyssey. With a few tweeks like turning clouds down and others on high settings, it can do 1440p and go between 40-50 fps. You really don't need that much fps for RPG type games anyways, especially if you want the visual appeal.
Make sure to upgrade your ram to at least 16 gb and look for Ram that is 1.2v. I am currently using Kingston Hyperx 3200mhz 1.2v ddr4 Sodimm Ram at 32 GBs, probably overkill, but future proof.
For under 1000 bucks, would I recommend this? Yes.

Despite reading multiple reviews and articles on this laptop's thermals and display. I still purchased this. I upgraded to 32GB of Ram and added a NVME and secondary SSD. The Ryzen processor has performed very well.
For a "budget" laptop, it still packs a RTX card. Which for a mobile gaming device, is more than enough. If I want to hardcore game, I will use my gaming desktop.

So far I love it, very powerful laptop for the price. I would recommend getting more space and maybe more ram. The only real downside is the amount of heat and needed to be plugged in to use all the power. I bought this to see if I were to build a gaming pc and use it, I'm happy to say I am going to build one and I can't wait.

This laptop has some flaws. It can get pretty hot, and throttles games when it does (I had to buy a cooling pad). Also, it only came with 8GB of ram, and the screen doesn't look as good as other computers. However, the combination of graphics card and CPU can run most games out there, and it even works for VR.

I have had this laptop for 1 year now. I've never had any issues with it and it runs as if it were day one. Upgrading the internal storage was super simple also upgrading the ram was no issue. I play all the latest games at playable speeds. Battery life is not that great but I live with it.

The screen isn't great, but I knew that before purchasing. Bought on sale and upgraded RAM to 32 gb for about $100. Hooked up to external monitor for photo and video editing and it handles those tasks pretty well. The battery life isn't good, but if you're generally near an outlet, not a big deal.

Fantastic laptop. Does most games on ultra settings. Fans weren’t as loud as people have said. I barely noticed them even though I had read the reviews and was listening for them. Super fast and nice weight to it. I’m going to install a 1tb ssd just to add a little more storage.

I’m relatively new to the world of pc’s and my first laptop. But a ton of research I settled on this machine. I was mainly looking for a combo of good cpu & gpu performance and this is it. Surprisingly good build quality. Looks and feels nice. I did have a small issue with screen sharing on zoom. After much time trying to figure out the problem I decided to exchange it and see if’s a fluke. Other then that it does have less then optimum cooling, look it up on YouTube, and as other reviews mentioned the panel isn’t 144htz and not the best color range but overall is really good. For the price you can’t expect everything but it’s a great laptop. For a laptop.

I bought this laptop a few days ago before BestBuy ended up changing the listing by removing the picture that stated that the screen was 144hz which made this laptop an amazing deal despite the 48wh battery and only 8gb of ram. As other reviews have stated, the screen is only 60hz which is severely underpowered when compared to the rest of the hardware. I did notice the laptop did get hot when using it and the color accuracy is mediocre. The hardware is good for the price but the monitor basically kills the deal. I will be returning this and plan on picking up a better model.

Very powerful gamer computer and amazing price. It would only need to be upgraded to 16 GB memory but other than that it's and amazing computer. The RTX 2060 + Ryzen 7 processor are a perfect match.
