It's a good computer that has a few issues that keep it from being great. The USB ports on the right hand side and the power button next to them are awkwardly placed - hard to get at all of them. Not the best sound/speakers I've ever heard. Trackpad is a bit too wide - you end up moving the mouse while you're typing. Other than these nitpicks it's a decent machine

It works for most games my son plays on steam. So overall I approve :)

No huge complaints right off the bat, but out of the box the overall feel of the construction leans toward average. It really lacks the rigidity of a higher quality unit. There are zero functional issues out of the box and for the first month of use. I generally spend around an hour a day actively using the unit primarily for social sites, research, or shopping with only the occasional business use. Just a rock solid performer for every day casual users. It doesn't do anything supremely well, but neither is it slow, bulky, or fragile.

This is a decent lap top for a high school or college student. It does not have enough ram for advanced users. Lightweight to carry to class. Battery life is good so far.

Good laptop for the price! I highly recommend this laptop

I bought this laptop for my granddaughter when she started college. It was a breeze to upgrade to windows 8.1 and load all the drivers required without any of the problems that others reported. I think that having other Asus products helped. This unit is somewhat slower then I expected but it is doing the job for my granddaughter.

I think the screen with all the icons is a bit confusing and at times it is hard to get out of the email and back to the icons. You can't just hit escape and there isn't an easy way to close out. Sometimes the cursor jumps around which is inconvenient when you are in a word doc. Other than these few issues the machine is very good.

Initially had some concerns to use for purpose of home computer but has been one of the greatest decisions I have made. Price was excellent

This laptop provides my teenage kids all they need for both their classes and their personal needs. Reasonable price for the capabilities.

I currently have two boys attending a local university and both were in need of new laptops. Despite all of our previous laptops being Toshiba we decided to go with Asus. I can honestly say, we are very pleased with our decision. I have asked them several times how they like their new laptops and both have said they're great. The biggest adjustment for both was getting accustomed to the new Windows Tile format. We definitely recommend Asus laptops and definitely recommend buying from Best Buy. As always, the customer service was great. The sales associate that assisted us with the purchase was very knowledgeable and provided a lot of great advice. Being the one that paid the bill, I was also very happy with the price. Thanks Best Buy.

Bought for my son for gaming and school 2 months ago. He loves it. No problems.

The price is very competitive in terms of both online and brick front stores.

I first bought a Toshiba. But the touchpad was terrible. The next day while waiting for someone to process my return, I looked over all the laptops on display. I stopped at the Asus model. Because the motherboard in my 10 year old desktop is an Asus (and it has given me absolutely no problems) I thought why not give Asus a chance with a laptop. Heck, it is cheaper by far than what it cost me to build my desktop and it packs quite a punch in comparison. So far (33 days later), I am still happy that I bought it.

We love it! It is exactly what i was looking for and works great! Good price for a great product. I will definitely purchase another Asus again in the future. Great on the go, lightweight. Thank you!

This is an excellent computer! It is a great value and a great product. I stand by all my ASUS products.

Bought for my son and he doesn't use it very much, but that is more due to win8 and he always seems to get aware installed all the time. If it were me I would load Linux on it and the install win7 in a vm.
