    Memory is not upgradeable

We wanted something with 8 GB rather than the 4 GB on this notebook, and the specs said that it was upgradeable. I was told that it had only one slot, so that I would need to replace the 4 GB module with the 8 GB one. (I have done this with many a computer.) Best Buy sold me what was supposed to be the correct 8 GB module. When I opened the computer (a little tricky, you need to pry it apart carefully), there is no place to install the memory, so I assume the 4 GB is built-in and not upgradeable. Trying to get tech support from Best Buy was a joke, since their Geek Squad seems to be a service for pay thing, and I just wanted to verify that the memory wasn't compatible. Anyway, the notebook works fine otherwise, though not particularly fast, and to save myself the trouble of returning the RAM, I installed it in an older notebook to upgrade it, so we've got a really nice fast older notebook anyway. Best Buy should change the inaccurate specs, but reaching Customer Service is challenging if not impossible, so I thought I'd let them know this way -- along with warning future prospective customers.

Fast, lightweight, beautiful touchscreen. Processor is not the fastest but gets the job done quick enough. Easy set up.

This ASUS laptop is one of several I have purchased over the years. This is the first one with Windows 8 and touchscreen and it's everything I expected it to be. The laptop is light and has the extra features I need for business presentations such as an external vga port. The price was right and the shipping was very fast.

After months of careful, and OCD research on laptops that were affordable, at least a 15" screen and could easily be used for college as well as office work... I settled on this ASUS laptop. BIG MISTAKE. ( WITHOUT ANY NORMAL WEAR/TEAR, OR ACCIDENTAL DAMAGE).... Major issues within ONE MONTH of daily use: 1. The plastic covering on the hinge, that is suppose to hide the wires... broke off. I took the laptop back to Best Buy; after speaking with a manager, I finally received a replacement laptop. 2. One week later, I placed the laptop in a laptop-friendly-padded-tote, and placed it in my car. Only to take it out when I got home to find the touch screen had completely CRACKED. *no replacement was offered* 3. It is heavy. too heavy to carry from work to school to home to work, etc. 4. The software itself has some minor glitches. 5. After cleaning the device with proper supplies, the "a" key and "1" key fell off.... *unable to reattach them* I CANNOT WAIT TO BE RID OF THIS HORRID LAPTOP. SAVE UP AND GO WITH A MAC!
