Was expecting great things by the specs but ended up returning. The webcam was awful and the keyboard backlight was on you can read the keys. Also the sd card reader is to small for a standard sd card.

I read reviews prior to purchasing this product, and although I had some concerns, I thought it would be able to handle the basic things I wanted to use it for. I bought it on sale, and thought I would be satisfied. Well I have owned it for almost 5 months, and I am already searching for another laptop. I simply want to browse the web, play around on Facebook, and watch the occasional movie or video online. This laptop cannot even do that. Here are the issues: LAPTOP GOES BLANK AND RESTARTS - Yes, no matter what I am doing, it will just cut off. This issue "corrects" itself eventually, but its very annoying. It does not do it as much as it used to, but still very annoying. POWER BUTTON IN A HORRIBLE SPOT - You will accidentally cut your laptop off. (Yes, this is separate from the other issue I described). I've gotten used to it, but it still happens. This was just a poor design. YOU CANNOT SEE KEYS - Depending on the time of day, its hard to see your keys. They are light and the keyboard is light. I do ok, since I am a very good at typing, but if I do have to stop and look for a key, its harder to find than it should be. Another design flaw. FACEBOOK FREEZES- Yes, it literally will freeze on facebook. For weeks, I thought it was my internet at home, but I have tried 3 other laptops and do not have the same issue with those. One of the laptops I tried is the one I bought this to replace. That laptop is at least 12 years old. TWITTER FREEZES- Same as Facebook TOUCHSCREEN IS JUST "OK" - I rarely use it, because its just a waste of time. So, yes, as you can tell, I am having trouble using it just for the basics that I purchased it for. If anyone needs this for school or work, run away!

I would have given it a 3 but the sound system is not that great in fact I need to increase the volume to about 100% to hear music or watch Netflix, YouTube or any sound movie.

I did not like this laptop at all. The grey keyboard made it very difficult for me to see the letters even with the keyboard light turned on all the way. I did not see a difference in my 5 year old laptop and I returned this product.

I purchased this online and waited to have it delivered to the house. When it arrived, I started to set it up. The keyboard would light but nothing else. The set up process did not start. I returned it to the store. I waited outside. After quite a while, the Best Buy two came out and said there were none in stock and it could not be ordered. I was without a laptop and lost out on the sale price. Disappointing.

A few keys are very faded making them impossible to read. Very unhappy about this. Don't know if there is a solution.

After two weeks, WiFi card stopped working all of a sudden. The windows device manager showed failed to recognize the hardware. Unluckily, it’s still within return period. But, I wouldn’t recommend this laptop to anyone.

My ASUS is terrible. Mother board went out two months after warranty expired. I'm throwing it away. Bought an HP.

I purchased a computer twice this price a week before this one. It had an i7 processor, 12gb of RAM and a touch screen as well. It got too hot, fan was loud and just overkill for me so I returned it. This one had great reviews except one reviewer mentioned something about Bluetooth and wifi not working together, which I have not noticed. This computer with the i5 and 12gb of RAM is more than adequate for my daily work load. I connect to a remote server through VMware horizon and there is no lag or anything. Playing light games is great, and watching Netflix and YouTube is great on this screen. This computer is very efficient and does not even get that warm. Fan stays off the majority of the time unless paying games. I would recommend this computer to any one that needs a daily use computer that's not really looking for a power House gaming machine or video editing/ graphic design machine. I am sure it can handle some design programs but would not be the most effective compared to a high performance machine.

I purchased this laptop to use at university, but I've found it to be very enjoyable overall. This is a 2 in 1, but unlike some others that I've looked at, I didn't have to sacrifice productivity for this functionality, although it does command a slight premium over it's competitors. Pros- The thermals on this machine are fantastic, without the need for an obnoxious fan. The Intel core i5 (8265) delivers power when needed but base clocks much lower than its peak, which allows the thermal profile to remain in check. After regular use for the last few months I've rarely seen it go above 45°C, although it can under load. The M.2 SSD allows for lightning fast loading of files or data, and the seamless integration to the cloud with OneDrive will make you feel like your machine has much more space than what is physically on the drive. Solid construction including metal hinges make this a durable machine, and looks good doing it. The battery life is quite long, about 5 hours at full screen brightness with the backlit keyboard, and if you do not need the backlight, and are willing to turn down the screen and mute the speakers, you can squeeze almost 10 hours out of her, which is phenomenal. Cons- The Wi-Fi and Bluetooth share a card, which means using them simultaneously causes problems on the system. This is really only noticeable if you're doing something that requires a steady connection, but don't expect to make Skype calls with your Bluetooth headset on this machine. It does have a multi-jack, but sadly no Ethernet port, so this remains an issue that updating the drivers just won't solve. It may seem a little unfair but Windows 10 remains a big drawback of this machine. In the two months that I've had it, Windows 10 has pushed about 5 updates to the machine that have broken the Cortana search functionality and caused other system instabilities, including breaking Norton Antivirus and interfering with my VPN software. Whilst this is not ASUS' fault, it remains a con that any purchaser of the machine should be aware of: Windows 10 continues to have a haphazard update rollout that can and will break your software and driver functionality. Conclusion- Overall, it's the little things that ASUS includes that make this laptop worth purchasing, in my opinion. The included number pad is a great feature. When the screen is open, the bottom of the bezel has rubber pads that are designed to slightly lift the keyboard tray providing both an ergonomic angle, and providing ventilation to the logic board. The Windows Hello camera at the top has IR sensors so that the feature works in the dark. The onboard MicroSD card slot takes up less space and saves one the trouble of having to find clumsy adapters. The USB-C and HDMI outs make it easy to hook up to a monitor or TV when at home. Overall, I'd give this one a firm buy recommendation!
