This was not originally what I planned to purchase. Retuned another product that was overheating. This machine is incredibly fast and efficient. Worth the investment. Light weight and customizable! Recommend it for those hard core gamers as well as those off to college.

This is my first new laptop in over 6 years. I love gaming on it it. Everything looks beautiful and runs very fast. There is a close lid problem with no solution...no matter the power setting whenever you reopen a closed lid it refuses to wake up. The only work around (98% effective) is put laptop to sleep, close lid, and then reopen. The 1TB internal hard drive was not enabled. Geek Squad only wanted to help if i brought laptop in and could not, over the phone, even confirm it came with the hard drive! After hours of research I was able to enable and use the drive. The other developing problem is fan sound. I've had the laptop for 3 weeks now. All games were loaded on immediately but fan sound is getting louder on laptop start up and game start ups.The sound has approached perceptible during game play.

Got it open box for 999.99 what i saved i used it to get the 3 year protection plan. So far so good. No issues. No cosmetic damage. Can play all pc games on ultra. Graphics card gtx 1060 6gb wow. For the price! Only thing it does heat up a bit. Light and portable!

The laptop is a great purchase with the open- box pricing, because the buyer is getting a GTX 1060 for under $1K. The product functions great, but if an alternate laptop is available with a GTX 1060 or 1070 for a similar price without thermal or heat issues get the alternative.

This Asus laptop ROG series is probably the best laptop I've ever had, it out shines everything on the market (except probably Dell's own line of alienware). I'm not going to list the pros of this laptop, I find it exceeds or matches the best of the gaming laptops out there as of December 2016. What you see in the specs are petty much top of the line. I say that because there is minimal little things, like mine came with a Nvida 1060 graphic card, there is a1070 card out also. Cons - there's no CD/DVD drive, but remember, this is not a media or home/office laptop. You will need something to sit this on instead of your lap. One you load up a game, the graphics card fans kick in and starts circulating air. It's really hot coming out the back of it. Only 3 usb ports. No docking station.

This laptop is great. It has all you will need to take gaming to the next level. Boots very quickly thanks in part to the hybrid drive with the SSD. Fantastic graphics card with features to help you get the most out of your gaming.

First off, I ended up getting this one because the one I ordered didn't get there on time so I got a steal of a deal. The GPU is amazing, CPU is great. I was unsure of SSD's before buying, but love it. The 17" Asus laptop really isn't much bigger than the 15" laptop because the screen goes closer to the edge on the 17". I wanted a 15" but glad I got the 17" now that I have it. The cons, I am have yet to find a way to use my old gaming headset with mic on this computer due to the single port for headphone and mic like what phones have. Another con, the screen sometimes flashes like an old CRT screen trying to warm up. Not sure why it does that, probably need to take it in under warranty to have it looked at. All in all, great laptop, just wouldn't pay retail for it, but i'm very frugal.

I got this to replace an everyday laptop that I had and this computer fits the bill. It does everything that I need it to do and so much more. If you are looking for a good gaming laptop you should really pick this up

This laptop is has a very fast start up due to the SSD drive. Laptop fits the bill perfectly with a solid feel to the key board. I primarily use the machine at home and wanted to be mobile around the house. The wireless range is very good with a solid connection even sitting out on the deck. Battery life is shorter than I would like but I knew that from the reviews I had read. The processor on this laptop requires significant power. If you do not need the higher end processer and want a longer battery life then one should choose a lower level processor but still look for a machine with the operating system on the SSD for the fast start ups.

I bought this strictly for gaming. We primarily play WoW but I have a large steam account as well and this thing will easily play anything in my library. It does run a tad hot though when at max settings.

Love this computer. Gaming, none-gaming, personal use, surfing the web, streaming movies, you name it. Computer feels great, and runs great! Has a great deal on it as well. Save over $300!!!!

Purchased the open box laptop and paid for 2 day shipping. Laptop arrived late and Best Buy refunded my shipping cost. Got the laptop and everything came as expected. Started laptop up and had to update drivers. Tried playing rainbow six and wouldn't run. Issue was with the video card driver. After about 6 hours of reading forums and calling friends I was able to download a old video card driver and it worked. Overall I'm am happy with the purchase just a pain dealing with the drivers. If you are not computer savvy it would have been a nightmare. Also bios had to be updated

The laptop runs nicely and is perfect for mobile gaming. So much space to save all your games. The graphics are great. This is perfect if you're an online gamer and travel.

I have a large server requiring software program that I can't use in most laptops. I put it in this one as my dedicated office program. It runs fast and seems to be good so far. My patients find it amusing that I use a "gaming" computer in the office

I wanted something thin and not too heavy. This was a great 17" without getting too pricy. I'm able to run just about everything on max settings, granted the fan can get rather loud but it's not nearly as loud as some of the ones I've come across.

I have a RoG desktop with nearly the same specs, so I knew going in it would be a great gaming machine. I travel for work, and having a good laptop to use hanging out in hotels for up to 4 weeks, so now I can look forward to those long evenings.

This is a great product and I don't have any negative feedback as of this time. This is my 2nd Laptop within the last 18 months since the first one - I hand it down to my son which is really excited every time he use it. Way to go!!
