I bought this laptop as a desktop/laptop replacement. Because of the 17-inch screen size I pretty much leave it set up at my desk, but since it is so light I don’t mind taking it with me now and again. I use the computer for a combination of work and gaming and it handles both quite well. Pros: - No problem having several programs open at once, some of them graphics intensive. - Graphics and screen are outstanding for the RPG games I play - Sound quality when headphones are used is very high Cons: - Has some issues with heat when playing games (this is fine if kept on a cooling pad) - Doesn’t always come out of sleep mode properly (blank screen). This requires a reboot to fix.

A great machine, it boots up very fast. After I started using it i found that I prefer a machine with a DVD player included as part of the machine, the external drives are a bit of a hassle.

Awesome laptop for the price. Seems to run every game I throw at it at full settings at 60 framesper second!

This is a great computer. I have always built my own gaming machines but decided on this to save space and upgrade. I think it's great all around and can handle any task I can think of.

This is my family's third ASUS ROG laptop. We started buying ASUS ROG's when our friend bought a G73 and used it for about 14 months. He loved it so we bought a G73 for my wife. She liked it so much that I decided to buy one. But, the G73 was not being sold any longer, so I got a G74. They both have been rock solid. Over the years we have had them, we had to have the cleaned inside. Once for each machine in the 4 and five years we've had them. My wifes G73 had to have a new power receptacle replaced. Now, My wife upgraded to this ROG machine. It is lighter, faster and I lust after one myself. in my house it is ROG forever.

This machine is packed with all the power I need to either game or do normal tasks. This is my second ASUS laptop. I can't say enough good things about their quality.

Great quality, lightweight, but seems to get incredibly hot while running. Terrible Battery Life.

No issues so far. Ive had it 2 weeks. Seems to be working well. Plays my games on ultra with great frame rate. I really like the ROG gaming software included.

ASUS Republic of Gamers laptops in my opinion have taken the lead in PC Gaming computers. Best gaming machine I have bought. Will always continue to use ASUS.

I got this for my husband and it's a great gaming laptop. It plays Doom and Fallout 4 with ease. The only downside is it doesn't have a back-lit keyboard.

Temps do get a little hotter than Id like but I understand when its really thin and more portable than other 17 gaming laptops.

Exactly what I wanted for the price. Going to start to get back into gaming and this will do the trick.

Awesome specs for the price and plays all the new games at max settings with great frame rates. The reason for the loss of a star is that it generates quite a bit of heat while running at the max settings during gaming. Not sure if this will become a bigger problem, but typically would not be good for the laptop long term.

Some other tricks are to run games in high performance mode so that the cpu is clocked high. It runs hot. Overwatch is around 85-87c with my house at 75F. Some ways to help it cool down are to underVOLT the CPU using intel extreme tuning utility. Also underVOLT the GPU with MSI afterburner. Check the Asia forums as there is a thread for this exact laptop cooling issues. Other than that, it has an amazing screen and nice build quality. High recommend

Love it, fast quiet and handles all task I've thrown at it haven't played any "real" games yet but doubt it'll have a problem

This computer that i purchased is a really good computer. it plays games well and i can handle all my work that i do on it too.

Awesome graphics runs very high fps on all games I've run gets a bit hot so I'd recommend a cooling pad of some sort.. terrible battery but that kinda comes with the gaming laptop territory all in all great computer imo

Best bang for your buck. Plays anything I throw at it and the SSD is adequate for 1 or 2 of your favorite games.
