Customers consistently note the positive impact of the touch screen, fast SSD, and strong performance of this 2-in-1 laptop. The ample storage and impressive graphics capabilities are also frequently praised, along with its relatively light weight and ease of use. However, some users mention concerns about the battery life and occasional issues with the speakers. A few also reported experiencing heat and hard drive problems.

I almost always buy Dell when it comes to computers: desktops & laptops. I decided to buy this Asus model based on the number of features for the price. TOTAL, COMPLETE, UTTER letdown by Asus. The first machine I got, the battery wouldn't take a charge. Unplug the A/C adapter and it dies immediately after one day of charging. Returned it for a new one shipped straight from the warehouse, THE SAME EXACT THING HAPPENS. Battery won't take a charge. So angry about this. Took three weeks to finally get my new laptop, and you guessed it, it was a Dell. Will never buy another Asus product ever again. I'd rate it a ZERO if it was an option.

First a little about me. I'm not a gamer, but I consider myself a power user. Most of my time is spent in Autocad Inventor and Lightroom. I'm also a Sr. Linux Engineer and have built numerous desktops in my past.
While I just bought this laptop last night, I've already been pretty impressed with it. That may partially be because my last laptop is going on 6 years old now.
Pluses: Audio is actually pretty good, as long as the little bass box is plugged in and it's on a desk. When it's on your lap, it's muffled, but usually if I'm working on my lap, then I have headphones on.
The software packages that are pre-installed aren't too obtrusive. With some laptops, you get a 1000 apps pre-installed that take half a day to remove. The only thing I uninstalled on this laptop was dropbox.
I've found the keyboard pretty easy to type on. Everything is logically spaced and the key strokes. The backlight is a nice add-on.
Disk speed and size: Very nice. The SSD allows the system to boot almost immediately and my apps (even Autocad Inventor) load really quickly. Having the 2TB spindle drive for my data files is working out well too. I'll need to configure Windows to point my user's home dirs to the data drive so I can leave the SSD for windows and apps only.
Graphics card/Screen: The 4k LCD is amazing. The built-in graphics card is easily driving an external 4K display that I bought at the same time through HDMI (displayport to be tested tomorrow when my cable gets in). The colors appear to be fairly accurate so far. I haven't fully tested them, but whites aren't overly bright and the blacks look good. I personally can't tell if there's any tint at this point.
TouchScreen: I've never had one on a laptop before, so I'm not sure what to expect here. It works. I keep touching it to remove specs of 'stuff' that land on it and select something in the process. Will have to get used to that. Maybe I'll get one of those baby-nose-sucker thingies to use as a small blower instead of touching the screen all the time.
TouchPad: Not as good as a Mac's, but Asus is getting there. I'm sorry. I'm in love with the Mac Pro touchpad. I'm not sure why, but to me those things are perfection. The Asus touchpad is the first one I've used that I felt I can truly be happy with. Even with my wireless mouse sitting next to the laptop, I find myself hitting the touchpad half the time. It's also in a good place for touch typists in that I don't find my self accidentally hitting it while I type. My old laptop I would accidentally drag and drop large bodies of text if I wasn't careful (probably why it had a big button to easily disable the touchpad).
WiFi: easily connected to my home network. The AC speeds are blazing fast. I was copying data to my media server last night at a nice 100Mbps+ speeds over WiFi.
My biggest gripe so far is where the arrow keys are... They're just a tad too close to the other buttons. I find myself hitting the right ctrl key when I'm trying to get to them. I use my arrow keys a lot, so we'll see how long it takes to get used to that.
TL;DR at this point I'm very satisfied with this purchase. As a laptop, it's exactly what I was wanting/needing. Nice fast performance with plenty of disk space for my large photo collection.
