I purchased this Asus Q534UX laptop just before Christmas 2016 not for a gift but for a work computer replacement. This is not a cheap system, it was over $1400.00. I was expecting to be able to attach a dock which would both power the computer as most thunderbolt ports allow and to run multiple monitors also through the dock. After experimenting with two different thunderbolt docks I came to realize that powering the system through this thunderbolt port was not possible, nor was running two monitors. Called ASUS and they confirmed this. Basically the Thunderbolt port on this system is a glorified usb port nothing more, this particular thunderbolt port is very limited. Needless to say I was VERY disappointed as this was not explained to me by the sale person who was told what I was wanting the system for or in any documentation I reviewed prior to the purchase. The thought of returning the laptop due to this inadequacy caused a great deal of stress since as I stated previously this is a work computer and took about two days to install and configure the software I use for work. Little did I know this was only the beginning of the problems with the system. About six weeks into ownership a hardware problem occurred. Without notice and for no understandable reason the system will start typing the number 6 repeatedly on your screen wherever the focus of the cursor/keyboard is during operation. Doesn't matter what you're doing or what software you are working in it will randomly start with the 66666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666's endlessly. The only way you can stop it is to open the lid and strike another number key. I took it into the Geek Squad where they confirmed the malfunction and said they would have to return the system to Asus for REPAIR!?!?!. Great, a six week old laptop having to be sent in for a repair to only god know where and ......wait for it.....it will take 2 WEEKS and I have to pay shipping to ASUS. I was expecting an apology and a new system not "you pay to send to ASUS and we'll fix it maybe and have it back in 2 weeks". What am I supposed to do about work for two weeks?!?!?!. Furthermore I have since spoken to a friend who explained he has issues with an ASUS motherboard he was using for a game build and had to send it back. Last ASUS product I will purchase I can promise you that and if Bestbuy doesn't stand behind the products they sell the I'll be buying my next laptop online like I do everything else. I gave it one star just because it looks good but that's where the pros end.

Have only had it for just under a month & going good.

The internet on this thing is slower than dial up from 1999. Everything else on it is superfast and nice. It does get loud but most of the new laptops do so I would get over that. Also the mouse is kind of wierd and freaks out sometimes. I think all the components for this spec wise are good but no one took the time to tweak nthe system and make it nice before selling it.. I wound up getting the hp spectre and a external hard drive. everything on it works. superfast internet. ect. But on all the nice systems the storage sucks...cant win...so i compromised.
