A great laptop-sturdy, crisp display, outstanding performance, and a ton of storage. It's a bit heavy, but it is worth it. I highly recommend this laptop to anyone looking for a high performance laptop.

    Great Laptop

This is the second ASUS Laptop I've owned. My other ASUS laptop is 5 years old and still works, however it's showing it's age. This new laptop runs everything very smoothly and quickly. I was a bit hesitant on jumping from Windows 7 to 10, however this laptop makes it really easy. The few minor complaints I have are 1) The exterior does show hand and finger prints. 2) Wish it came with a DVD or Bluray drive (I fix this by purchasing an external one). 3) Does not have a RJ45 jack for wired networking (Again, fixed by purchasing a USB to Network adapter). All in all, I've been really happy with this laptop and feel that it will last me another 5 years.

Had the Computer for only 1 day. So far, it has Beat all my Expectations. It is so Fast, and the Screen is Absolutely Fabulous. Windows 10 has worked flawlessly so far. Connecting to Printers and wireless was Very, Very Easy. Best Buy Greek Squad was Really Helpful. I also bought the 3 year warranty. Will update after 1 or 2 months..

    Superb laptop but...

This laptop is an all around great machine, but this model does come with one issue. When using this laptop in full tablet mode (i.e. screen folded all the way to the back) the computer will erratically want to switch back and forth from table mode to desktop mode. This issue can be really annoying when if you use tablet mode frequently, and seems to be a problem with Asus' fliplock software. This issue will not happen in tent mode or any other angle except for when it's all the way back at full 360 degrees. I thought I had a defective unit so I returned the first one I purchased and got a second unit. Unfortunately the second unit also has the same exact issue. So it seems that most if not all of these Q534UX models WILL have some sort of tablet/desktop mode switching problem. Some people are also having a tablet mode switching issue when using Chrome. I just hope Asus sends out a software update fix soon! Other than the problem mentioned in this review the laptop works flawlessly and is as described. All said and done, I'm quite content with my purchase.

    Excellent Portable Workhourse

I always buy the most expensive unit from a famous brand name for personal use as I believe that you pay for what you get. After few hours online research on the features and prices, I decided to give ASUS a try and so far very happy with my choice. Pro: (1) the best feature/price on the market (2) 2-in-1 laptop/notepad (3) come with a lot of selective freeware and trial ware (4) Come with a powerful ASUS woofer (BestBuy Model Q534U only) (5) I know that can be done, but still research how to connect two external monitors to this laptop as the local screen is too shining. Con: (1) NO CD ROM Drive, should include an external one for free (2) Screen is too shining to read, I have to use with an external monitor (went back BestBuy to check, 80% of laptop has shining screen). (3) black metal case leaves fingerprint easily (4) almost too heavy to be used as a notepad, (end up bought another Apple iPad pro 12 to carry around) (5) Another reason buying an iPad is that the multi-language online keyboard clumsy to a degree that is useless (i.e. hand writing Chinese).

    Loving my first Asus

I have owned this Asus for a little under a month. I love the backlit keyboard and the color of the laptop (chocolate black). I was playing a video and went downstairs. I could still hear the video. That would not have been the case with the speakers on my HP Envy. The video quality is also great. The only issue I have had with the HD display has been when I use Quicken. Some of the information does not display correctly even when I change the resolution. That could be resolved with an update from Quicken. The only other issue I have is with the 10 key pad. The keys are a little narrow. I'm starting to get used to them. Overall I think this is a great laptop. I decided to purchase it over HP because based on some reviews they are known to last only 3 years which was the case with my last laptop. Also everyone spoke highly of the quality of ASUS laptops. We will see in a few years if it is true. Also, the laptop responds really well. I uploaded a few thousand pictures and it was really fast (can't recall the exact timing - I just recall being really impressed). So far, I can say that I'm happy that I made this "investment".

This laptop is bar none the best laptop ive ever owned! It will blow the doors of of pretty much any latop you can get except the very newest alienware, but it will hold its own! I use it for school and gaming, its wonderful at both! My first one was an open box that had a damaged touch screen so i got a brand new one when i went to the store! Its so easy to work with best buy i got my latop basically 200 dollars off! You cant beat this laptop and the touch screen is fluid and works as smothly as a touch screen phone!

I've had this laptop for a little over a month and I'm very happy with the performance. The boot time is just amazing. I haven't used it for gaming very much but Fallout 4 runs great. The 4K screen is fantastic. However, some pop-ups are so tiny they can't be read even though the application itself is magnified. This is the only problem I noticed. I haven't used the touchscreen yet.

Fast on startup and shutdown but on occasion the system seems to freeze for up to a minute. Otherwise this ASUS is as advertised, which is saying a lot. The UHD touch screen is great. Overall, this is a good value for what you get.

    Awesome 4K Multimedia Workstation

This laptop had everything I wanted in terms of specs. Performance is fantastic with the SSD and the 2TB hard drive give you plenty of space for files. The thunderbolt port is great and allows you to connect displays as well as usb3 devices. I lot of laptops have the usb c port, but do not support the display-port alternative mode that thunderbolt does. I had originally gotten the Q524 model, but when this one went on sale shortly after, I couldn't resist trading it in for this one. The 4k screen, extra ram, better video card and SSD made it well worth the difference in price. The 4k screen is amazing, but you may have issues with some software not scaling well to that resolution. Not a huge deal as it still looks great when you switch it to 1080p. The speakers are a little weak, but sound great if you use the included external sub-woofer. I have had some issues with the Windows Hello infrared camera, but that all started after a Windows update from Microsoft, so it may not be a hardware issue. When I first got it, I had an issue with the touch screen going out when I open and closed the lid. Took it back to best buy and exchanged it for another one and have not had any problems since. The size and weight of this laptop is not for everyone, but works great for me.

    Great specs

The laptop is amazing and is a great price for the specs. There's a few issues I have though and one of the more important ones is the buttons on the side. The volume buttons are incredibly hard to push and I know there's a button on the keyboard but why bother having dedicated buttons if you can't use them. Also i would suggest holding off using the screen on using it as a touch screen because of its size and also it attracts a lot of finger prints. Other than that this is the best laptop for the money and will beat out any others price for specs. Everything seems to be working for now only other issue is it doesn't come with an Ethernet but that's nit picking.

    Great Laptop, Good Gaming Capabilities

I have to admit I was surprised when I got this laptop and was amazed by the quality. I got to replace my old HP and to do some light gaming on it. I play Mirror's Edge on it every day now with a PS4 controller and it's smooth once you adjust the game. I youtube'd some videos in 4k to test it's resolution, it looked great. Cons? It would be the Mousepad. It feels odd, maybe a bit slippery. It's workable but when I work on photoshop and music/video editing I use a USB mouse. This is over kill for a email, web browsing, Facebooking laptop. Maybe not for extreme Gamers. But I use this for Photoshop, Music Production Editing, Video Editing, Moderate Gaming and Multitasking.

    Good overall quality

I've had this laptop for a month now. Overall, it's a pretty good computer for an engineering student. It runs heavh programs such as AutoCADD just fine. The ssd really stands out with a fast boot time. The computer is a little heavy to be used in tablet mode. The only reason I gave it a four star is because the 4K display has compatibility issues with some of the older apps such as multisim. I have to frequently down size to 1080p to get a good size text And view. Also, I had to buy a mouse because the trackpad was terrible when compared to My old hp spectre. Other than those two issues, I find this computer to be the best laptop out there that combines power, versatility, and speed!!

average computer with terrible support from ASUS

Just a few things I wish I would have known before buying the most expensive laptop in the store....this computer is very heavy and difficult grip and open. I think it needs to have a built-in strap or handle to help with making it easier to transport. The power button is on the left side, which is where you would commonly hold onto the laptop to move it..so it isn't unusual to inadvertently push the button to power off several times during your time using the laptop. The touch screen works only occasionally. And finally, it is extremely difficult to reach ASUS for support. I was disconnected three times and twice I was told to call back again because their systems are down. I made at least 6 calls over two days and was not able to talk to anyone about my question. They say they offer live chat, but this, too, turns out is not available when you attempt to chat. The reason I wanted to talk to ASUS is because the metal tip on the power cord snapped off in my new computer when I tried to unplug it. I am still having trouble reaching ASUS ..it seems like they are trying their best to make me call as many times as possible without actually addressing my question.

I am highly disappointed with this laptop. After reading the stellar reviews, I went ahead and purchased it. My experience so far has not been consistent with the reviews, leading me to believe I have purchased a defective product. I am still within my return period, but my local Best Buy store does not carry this product. Therefore, I would have to return the laptop and repurchase another one so it can be shipped to me, with leaves me without a computer. I did not do anything to my knowledge to deserve this kind of inconvenience. Best Buy staff has claimed that there is no way around this, due to the fact that they carry products by price, by location according to the average income of residents in the area.
