I use it to edit 4K drone video and it works GREAT! I do notice that the black housing shows every finger print and smug.

The 4K screen is fantastic. The size of the HD and SSD is very useful. I was able to connect a 28" 4K monitor to the USB-C port, converting it to Display Port. The other USB ports are 3.x which is very nice for file transfer to and from external devices. The processor is not as snappy as I had anticipated. The PC should have a Thunderbolt 3 port so it could drive 2 4K monitors. I could not find a better laptop with a 2 TB HD and a 500G SSD. The ASUA Zenbook may have been a better choice but $400 more.

Very fast, good processing, and great screen. However, when using RDP, because it is a 4K monitor, does not resolve OK with older, Win7 or less than Win 2012R2. Makes things very tiny and unable to read.

I was satisfied with my years old laptop. My house burned down so had to replace a bunch of stuff. Spent a month with a different brand that was not so good. Replaced it with this one and I'm totally satisfied. The dual hard drives are great for my Mobil Audio Recording projects.

2nd Asus Laptop

This is my second Asus and first was a work horse that lasted 3 years and was going strong until it was damaged by human hands. I decided to look around a bit before buying a new laptop and had several people recommend the MS Surface because it is so light. I work with lots of graphics, produce several webpages, and teach basic coding so I was looking for something that was easy to move around, had a touch screen, lots of RAM, and good video card. The Surface was perfect except I have about ½ a terabyte of data I have to draw off of between videos and images. That made the Surface around $2500 and more than I wanted to spend.
The Asus is a current laptop so they are following the Apple Macbook rules with no DVD player, Ethernet port, No VGA only HDMI, and it has a combo USB C/Thunderbolt3 port along with 3 USB3 ports and a full card reader which was important to me. This is the way all laptops will be built in future unless it’s a custom for school district or business buying a 1000 laptops. It has a single headphone jack that combo speaker/mic.
Here are the Pros and Cons I have seen so far
Pros
2.5 TB of space with 512 being SSD – Logon is within seconds
2-1 Tablet with a very good touch screen
15.6 screen
RAM 16GB DDR4
Nivida 950M 2 Gig Video Card makes all the games I’ve played so far seamless
Bluetooth is flawless
Easily handles the 5gig Apple Airport so I work at about 100 mbps download and 12 mbps upload.
The buttons are on the side of the of the machine, again like Apple, and I don’t have that accidentally turnoff problem my old Asus had.
It’s mostly metal and not cheap plastic. Has a professional feel to it.
Streams video without any problems, downloads very quickly
Moves seamlessly between graphics and web design
4K screen is amazing
Cons
It weighs about 5 pounds
Going to full screen tablet mode in Chrome has been a problem, have to switch back to Laptop and then out of full screen. Only in Chrome.
Sound is OK not great, expected more but not a deal breaker
Battery Life about 4 hours but it has 2 hard drives and huge video card
Has Windows 10 home and pro which Asus should rethink,
The Hello Face rec only works about 80% of the time
I did look at several brands HP, Lenovo, Acer, MS Surface and my work forces me to use Dell laptop. After the research and test driving I came back to Asus, this machine is hands down a much better machine. For the price, I’m taking college classes so that helped, and the brand name it is an excellent machine.
