The computer is pretty quick and has ample storage space for the price. It could use a bit more ram but again for the price it is acceptable. The problem is with the design of the display casing and hinges that attach it to the rest of the laptop. The laptop is touted as having an aluminum case but the display is wrapped in plastic on the front where it meets the hinges. After less than two weeks of normal use, just opening and closing the laptop, the pressure from the hinge pin on the plastic front separated the plastic front from the aluminum back along several inches of the seam on the bottom and side of the display casing. Unfortunately I was leaving town for a couple days at the time and thought I had 30 days to return to the store with it only to find out that it was actually 15 days which expired before I returned. Now I'm left with sending it to ASUS for repair and be without the laptop for several weeks while they fix it or live with the issue and gingerly open and close the thing while pinching the display case together when opening and closing it so the separated display casing doesn't get any worse. Even if I do have them fix it the problem is likely to return since they won't be redesigning it.

I spent around a week researching laptops and visited the Microsoft Store as well as the Apple store. This laptop wins out hands down as compared to the competition and the prices associated with said competitors. Dual core i7 processors, 4k display, dedicated memory card and 2 TB memory in addition to 526 GB solid state drive for right around $1k!!! And on top of all that, it's a 2 in 1 and as compared to every other 2 in1, this thing is a beast. Certainly in the gaming community you may hear people scoff at the GTX 950 graphics card as the latest and greatest games require 1050 and up. However, this isn't advertised as a gaming computer but it's nice to know that you can still play some pretty high level games on this thing. It's truly hard to find another laptop / 2 in 1 that compares for the price and I personally feel that was an excellent choice for the purpose of an all around laptop.

I like everything about this laptop except no DVD drive and shorter battery life. I got used to an Asus that could go 7 to 9 hours on battery. This one goes 3 to 5. I do not play games on it and I turn the brightness down. I love the flexibility. I have used it in some odd positions because of that. It starts in 10 seconds or so. Backlight has levels of brightness. Volume is ok. Keyboard is good. Love the space. It is big for a tablet but that mode is good such as in the kitchen on the counter in tent mode. I like touch screen on laptop more than I thought I would. Catch it on sale if you can. One of the best Windows laptops for the money. I looked for a long time and this was the best feature price combination I could find.

My husband and I chose this for it's SSD. We have both had Asus in the past and were more than satisfied with the quality for price. So it made sense to go with this one when we were looking for a touch screen and SSD.
I use a crafting cutter with a large program as well as many graphic designing software's. It runs them like a breeze.
I also use it for school and it's lightning fast. When I first opened it up, it was simple to add my apps I use and get it set up like I wanted.
I'm very happy with mine.

This is the best laptop I have owned. I love the 4K colors and the sub-woofer was a great suprise I didnt even know what it was t first. Missed it in the discription and Bestbuy didnt tell me either so it was a nice add on. I did buy a screen protector due to being a touch screen. I have the model before this one but had to add my own SSD drive. Nice this one had it already. I bought this laptop for the purpose of the 4K I am into 4K at the moment with TV so I wanted to see my 4K movies on here when I am away from home. The few games I do play are nice on 4K too. I bought the Bamboo Ink pen just cause I can use it even though I have not had a reason yet. You will love this laptop...

I had watched this computer for some time ever since I first saw it at Best Buy, but my old Samsung was still working. I was already convinced that I wanted this machine, but I decided to wait for a model with an I-8 and quad core. I had also read many of the reviews which gave it a 4.5 out of 5.
Well as luck would have it my old Samsung's battery started to get very weak. At the same time Best Buy took $400 off the price. I snapped one up right away.
Now for performance. I have used the machine a little over two weeks now and have found nothing that does not work. I thought I had problems with the outboard sub-woofer, but it turned out to be me. It turns out it does not work if you have a plug in the hdmi port, duh. It is fast enough for me. I'm not a gamer. I just like equipment on the leading edge. The SSD is great, but it takes a little time to get used to having your programs on the "C" drive and data on the "D" drive. The 0.5 TB SSD and 2.0 TB regular hard drive combination is fantastic.
The battery life could be better. I get a good solid 3.0 hours with it. I think the advertising says 6.0 hours. However, I'm running everything at full tilt. I'm sure I can get it better with a few adjustments.
Not having an RJ45 input required me to get a converter. I chose the USB C port to connect to. It works great.
The 4K screen is nice, but difference between 1080 and 4K is not that noticeable on a 15" screed. Finer detail. I hooked my 1080 monitor to it through the hdmi port and it worked great.
Mouse worked fine, not like a few of the reviews I read.
It does not run hot it is usually only slightly warm. Its nice to have an actual volume button. Keyboard backlight is great.
The true test of this machine will be how it does with upgrades to the newest operating system when one comes out. That was a problem with my old Samsung. I upgraded to Windows 10 and everything went wrong. I had to roll it back to Windows 8.1.
I called tech support three times on minor issues about using the machine. All my calls were answered promptly and accurately.
This his a great machine so far with a lot of great features. I don't think you can go wrong.

This laptop meets, and exceeds, all of my expectations so far. It's blazing fast, works great in all the modes (tablet, tent, etc.) and hasn't given me any problems yet. I hope that it will continue to operate at this high level for many years to come. The only downside is the relatively short battery life, but I guess that's to be expected from such a powerhouse computer.

I already have this specific one model since 6 months ago, and decided to buy a new one for my son because:
I has a great processor, with very good video graphics card and the SSD is very fast, but the 2 TB HD allows the main use for this laptop, create and edit videos (using the Core i7, the SSD, the Nvidia card) really fast and then when he is not longer using the video file, he just move it the the 2 TB HD and can bring it again very easily when required.
The best recommendation that I can give is I purchased the very same model again after few months of using it.

I was initially skeptical because of the touchscreen- I’m an engineer and spend most of my time typing code and had little use for it. But, I wanted 4K resolution, plenty of RAM, and a decent processor, and this machine had it all. After using it for a couple of weeks, I can say that I’m extremely pleased with its performance and have found myself loving the touchscreen when it comes to navigating around windows and surfing the web.

I purchased this Asus for my business & I have been very pleased. It has all the features I needed and more. I work with spreadsheets so having a numeric keypad is very convenient when I don't have an external keyboard attached. Having a hard disk drive (HDD) in addition to the solid state drive (SSD) is awesome because it's like having an external storage device built into the computer. It's not as light as my Lenovo Yoga because of it's size, but I like having the convenience of the of the numeric pad. And it's it's a looker too!

CAVEAT EMPTOR!!!! Asus does not stand behind its products!
First, as far as the machine, it has excellent specs for the price, the screen looks nice, and its seems relatively solidly built. The screen is somewhat less responsive to the bamboo pen than others I tried, but I don't use that feature very often. The two problems a had with the hardware were the touchpad and the charging cable. The touchpad is way too sensitive and slippery. It is nearly impossible to scroll with the two fingers without triggering the pinch-to-zoom gesture. Because of this, I am now forced to use Microsoft Edge instead of Chrome as my browser, because at least Edge has smooth pinch-to-zoom which is less disruptive than Chrome's incremental zoom.
As for the AC adapter that came with this, well, it is poorly designed, broke within a month of purchase, and Asus refused to make things right. I contacted Asus, first through their website (which was buggy and would not allow me to reply to their message) and then over the phone on at least three occasions. I was given conflicting information, eventually promised by a supervisor that it would be covered, then ultimately refused service when it arrived at their "service" center, despite previous assurances. The connector pin on the connector of the AC adapter broke through general use. There was no abuse nor accidents involved. A company that stood behind its products and cared about its customers would have just sent me a new one, not jerked me around and then refusing to honor its promises. This was the absolute worst customer service experience I've ever experienced from this type of company!

My first laptop was an ASUS and my last laptop was a Dell. Boy was I glad to get back to ASUS! I didn't fully realize what I was missing until I got this laptop.
Specific Thoughts:
-The power button is on the side where you can't see it- and it's right beside the volume buttons! I have accidentally hit the power button many times thinking it was the volume control. It would be nice to have labels on the top to see where the buttons & plugs are on the sides.
- The screen resolution & speed are incredible. Note: the 4K screen does cause problems. Some programs are not made for such a big screen and may not scale properly (Way too small).
- The 2.5TB harddrive is great for all my photos & videos.
- The sound quality is OK with the speakers on the bottom (I rarely use the subwoofer but I do use a bluetooth speaker).
- It would be nice if the battery life were longer.
- Large screen with full keyboard.
- I don't use the tablet mode much, but it is nice to have.
- Have I mentioned that the laptop is fast?
- So much more that I'm sure I missed...
Summary: Minus a few small details, this laptop provides the speed & quality that I was looking for while not breaking the bank. I am very happy with my purchase.

This is a very nice 2 in 1, size is perfect and powerful.
Only a few items I did not like:
Fingerprint magnet. (Why these companies design colors and textures that show everything is beyond me)
No wired network connection plug.
Power adapter plug on the computer should have been magnetic or a better designed. I see this getting bent or broken due to the way it sticks out. It's an old outdated circle plug that sticks out about 1 inch from the right side. Just waiting for someone to trip on the power cord and take the whole laptop to the ground with them.
