    Mostly Impressed

Overall, I am thrilled to be able to use this as both a laptop and a tablet. The tablet mode is mostly useful for me when reading music that I don't want to print and marking up PDF files with annotations. The three issues that I was and occasionally still am concerned with are 1) the left speaker tends to easily crackle and blow out. This is not a software or driver issue, but a hardware one. When this doesn't happen, it sounds more fantastic than any laptop I've ever heard (thanks to what I understand to be a mini subwoofer built in). 2) The first month of use, there were way too many display driver issues and millisecond long green, pixellated, and/or black screen when scrolling through pages or other windows with both trackpad and touchscreen. This seems to have somehow resolved itself for the most part after some use, but I am still hoping this machine doesn't give out in one year... It's disappointing that usually the warranties on these things usually only last until the computer actually (average 3-4 years for most laptops) starts to have real problems. 3) This never actually came with the same free antivirus software it claimed to come with online. But did offer a different one with the Asus Giftbox. The only reason I didn't take this particular computer it back (due to speaker and display issues) for a replacement the first week was that it was the last one in a 200-300 mi radius, the problems weren't consistently horrible, and I needed a PC that week for an online class. Overall, I would recommend this slick looking model. It is designed with a brushed alluminum back screen cover... and one thing I've never had is a logo and keyboard backlight. This may be an irrelevant feature, but it's very aesthetically pleasing. I'm not aware of any patterns of problems for other customers though... Just be weary if purchasing.

I like the ASUS a lot. It's fairly fast and has a nice, crisp screen. My only problem was a few incidents where the Intel graphics driver crashed, then recovered. I think that problem is gone. The machine will also function as a tablet, for those who like that mode. It also has Bluetooth, so I can use my Bose speaker with it, and that is great.

This is a great laptop. I love that it can be used as a tablet or laptop. It is actually more of a laptop than I need as I basically shop online, use the word processor and social media. My grandchild uses it for games however and loves it. He stated that it is much better than the laptop they have at home so I assume the speed is great too.

I got this laptop as a gift for fathers day, so it is not really mine, but I did set it up for him and personalize it. The computer seems very fast at times but it also seems to have moments where it freezes before performing an action like opening up an app. It doesn't freeze for very long, but it is like it pauses to think about it. The set up part is just like any other laptop, I could not get the email to sync correctly though. I like the backlight on the keyboard and how it is touch screen that bends to turn into a tablet, and the apps it comes with are very nice. I am in school for photography and I noticed it has a lot of pre-installed apps to deal with photos, editing, collages, and even video making. When turning on the laptop, the power button does not feel like you are pressing it but then the laptop comes on. I like the memory on it, and how it is an iCore 5. There are pros and cons to it, more pros than cons. I would buy something like this for myself.

Had this only a month so far, took back other asus models, bought the i7 unit last year for the mrs, she likes it. so bought newer the i7, stuck a number of times, was slower... got the blue screen a few times, so took it back and gave this i5 a try since a bit cheaper. comments about graphics card appear to be true. New unit seems to be fluid, processor fast enough, quick to navigate the net, works well for VPN (why I bought it) and touch screen seems fairly reactive. Time will tell but for now, does the job. A decent larger screen alternative to my MBPro

Before purchasing this laptop, I was going to get a MacBook. I happened to be looking online comparing models and this computer came to mind. The memory was what convinced me to get it. The MacBook might hav a higher processor but this computer is fast and has awesome extras. Touch screen. It bends back to be more like a tablet. It's awesome. I could always swap out the processor for a better one later. ;) this laptop is definitely worth the money.

i was impressed with the speed and great screen quality of the asus. Also the battery power seemed to last a long time, so it was great for movies. Sometimes there was a slight delay when changing pages while surfing. The next page would not appear immediately, but I don't notice this very much. Also a great sale price.

I really like the large screen and the solid keyboard. I'm really really happy to be liberated from the dreaded Windows 8. This is the first touch screen I've ever owned and I find it useful in some applications. This is the only devise in my home that looses connection and has slow downloads in the family room; I almost always have to use my hotspot. I've regularly used the touch pad on other laptops; they were separate tabs that I could feel the division. I've had to add a mouse. I would prefer the power button to be up on the keyboard so that I knew for sure what I was touching, its a little annoying to have to lift the machine to see the power button. I'm going to say that I would recommend the machine because its not terrible, but its not great. For my next purchase I'll look for a machine that I can give five stars.

    1. Battery life doesn't last long. But you should know that by looking at Specs before you buy it anyways. Not many settings seem to optimize it either. But it's powerful, so compare to other computers that are comparable and they aren't much better/worse. 2. When I turn my computer on Sleep mode, and wake it up, touch pad/mouse pad can take a minute or two to recognize. I just use the FN function to speed up the process. Very tedious. 3. Can't seem to shut it down with the physical button. All it does is reset/hard reset the laptop if you hold it down. I have to boot it up, go into the desktop, Windows icon and then shut down. That's odd to me as to why the button doesn't shut it down. 4. Clammy/greasy/wet/warm hands or fingers leave prints and smudges everywhere. Just use a microfiber cloth to clean it, but I'm not a fan of the finish that's on the metal. 5. Metal finish is great... for the computer. Dissipates heat WAY better than plastic. 6. Touch screen is very responsive. 7. RAM is great, boots up quick and doesn't seem to stutter or freeze randomly at all. So to coincide with that, the graphics card is good enough to play games as well. Minecraft rocks. 8. The keyboard is where the weight is, so the screen doesn't tilt and make the laptop fall when I have it pretty far back. 9. I'm obviously satisfied enough to keep the product. Got it for a good Open Box price. It's a deleted item though, so it's going out of stock.

For the average user, it is easy to operate. Haven't used the touch screen much. Look forward to it a lot more once I fully transfer from my old computer. Still not a fan of no disk drive. Def like the Start button's return.

So my father in law has been eyeballing a new laptop since his is 10 years old. He uses it sporadic but when he needs it, it's for important business matters. So he had started leaning toward apple because to me they are simple to use. But he didn't like apple price. We came across this tablet. The guy at Best Buy had explained the difference and really all the other laptops dos the same thing as this one but we would pay more for the name. So we chose this one. So far so good. Open up, started using it easy. My father in law is almost 75 and he is getting things done with it. So I think we did a good job.

    Driver Display Stopped Responding

I really wanted to keep this laptop. The Battery life was great when it was working, the screen resolution was perfect and the track pad was great. Now the cons. The computer would constantly freeze and the computer would constantly display a warning that the DISPLAY DRIVER HAS STOPPED RESPONDING BUT HAS RECOVERED. The screen would go blank constantly and then come back on sometimes in 5 seconds to 45 seconds. I don't think that this is the computers fault but may have something to do with Windows 10 or the display driver. Overall the laptop has a premium feel of metal and very sturdy. I have decided to return it and not take a chance on another computer since a search online seems and other reviews for other computers seem to have the same issues. Thanks to Best Buys great customer service for the return and an offer to get another one. Although I will wait to see if this display driver error thing goes away in the future then I will purchase another laptop.

This 2-in-1 laptop was really nice and worked great. My wife and I really enjoyed using it. It was fast and responsive and full of useful features. Unfortunately, 3 weeks after I bought it, my car was broken into and it was stolen when I made a quick stop at work for a short meeting... My new ASUS will be dearly missed.

I purchased this laptop, because my wife and I travel a lot and we need to have a computer so that we can work on our trips. This laptop is light and easy to use. I am old fashion for I don't use the touchscreen, but it is there if I need it. Windows 10 was easy to learn and works well also.
