This is semi-fast. Like the touchscreen use for my home business so not overloaded with apps. Hate the fact there is no Ethernet port! No CD drive bought portable one. Love the TB storage. Expensive for what you get but ok product.

I decided to purchase this computer because it has an I5 processor with 12 gig of ram and a sata 1 tb drive. I prefer a sata drive instead of a solid state drive because solid state drives are much faster booting up a computer, but once the computer is up and running, I really don't see a benefit. And unlike a sata drive, only 3 quarter of the drive can be used before it starts to slow down. In fact using more than 3 quarters of a ssd drive can actually damage the drive. The first thing I did with the computer was to remove all the Windows 10 partitions on the hard drive and installed Linux. The computer runs much faster and I don't have to worry about my personal information being data mined by Microsoft. And I never have to wait for mandatory updates. So if your looking for a powerful computer at a great price, give this computer a look....Asus did a great job...

This computer was in the open box area... consider checking open box to see what products are there!! Usually someone has returned it or it has a few scratches but still certified anc under warranty. This day B.B. offered extra 20% off open box so I got an 800.00 computer marked down to 550.00 then another 20% off. It’s great for my use as a home computer.

I use this laptop for school and it has a great battery. It charges fast and lasts a long time. The touch screen feature also works really great. The only thing I wish this laptop had was a light up keyboard. Other than that, it’s great!

Having a Gateway Windows 7 for 7 years this one is an adjustment. Trying to get used to scrolling by using 2 fingers instead of a ‘scroll column’..tends to inadvertently click on things I don’t want to click on. Really inconvenient. Lack of finding a laptop with enough memory and speed with a disc player also an adjustment. Add on disc player also a space taker and a little inconvenient. I don’t ‘game’ or ‘stream’ so alot of the ‘millennial’ preferred attributes are wasted on my laptop. Speed and ease of use seems faster and a little easier but haven’t had it long enough (3 weeks) to know just how it suits me and works for what I’ve used a laptop for previously. Haven’t tried all the new Windows 10 ‘bells and whistles’ yet.

This is a good laptop for everyday use, especially with the touch screen. The 12GB RAM allows you to run multiple applications smoothly and the 1TB hard disk allows for ample storage space.

I love this laptop! This replaced a 1st gen I3, so really can't compare with processors, but the speed of my other computer was with a SSD and 16 gig of RAM gave me a 5 second boot up time. This new machine came with a 1TB mechanical hard drive, which I immediately replace with a SSD, so the boot up time is now at 5 seconds. Only reason why I replaced my other machine is it was running hot, so the fan was running all the time. Already replaced the battery, and it just had it quirks. The battery life is great (now with a SSD), and I love the touch screen. I also enjoy not listening to a loud fan. Would highly recommend that when buying this machine, you replace the mechanical drive with a Solid State drive to fully enjoy the speed of the processor.

Always a great product from ASUS and this laptop is just another example. Enough RAM that nothing struggles for resources, large amount of storage, the flexibility with 2-in-1 tablet to laptop is icing on the cake!

This Asus 2-in-1 can be a great buy only if the following circumstances exist: 1) It is on sale - I purchased as a Deal of the Day. 2) You are or know someone who is capable of upgrading the incredibly slow internal hard drive to an SSD. 3) You or that individual must know how to clone the existing internal hard drive to the new SSD (I used Easeus Todo Backup). If this can be accomplished, you will now have an excellent laptop for the price paid. However, since many are not capable of taking these steps, please be aware that the existing 5400 RPM hard drive will slow this PC tremendously. Here are some examples: Boot time to login screen with existing HD - 90 seconds, with SSD - 15 seconds. Time to desktop after login with existing HD - 40 seconds, with SSD - 4 seconds. Time to startup Photoshop with existing HD - 90 seconds, with SSD - 7 seconds! The problem is these PC companies save money by using 5400RPM hard drives that are basically 20+ year old technology! As a result, I can only recommend this laptop if the existing internal HD is upgraded to an SSD. If you are in any way tech savvy or competent with tools you should be able to accomplish this with a good YouTube instructional video, but please only proceed if you feel confident of a good outcome - good luck!

I am 50 years old and this is my first laptop. It was easy to set up and light enough for me to carry anywhere. I like the ability to use the touch screen and mouse.

Bought this laptop on sale and it is fast enough and has enough storage to get the job done. Only really use it for secretarial work, but it is able to handle the job.

I needed a laptop fast as the one I had was starting to have some crashes and had been having other problems for a while. I found this one but it was a bit out of my price range even at $100 off. I bought it through Best Buy's open box program and couldn't be happier. The one I got was literally just an open box. The laptop itself is fast, sturdy and really great overall. This is my first ASUS and I'm impressed thus far. My only complaint is that the keyboard is a tad difficult to type on as the keys aren't very "deep" if that makes sense, but I'm getting used to it.

I needed a new computer that had decent storage and RAM to run a program for design. This computer fits my needs well. It didn't break the bank and it looks good too. I would have given it a 5 star but I do not like where the on/off button is located. Its on the left side where you pick it up or put your hand to adjust the location of the computer. I've turned the computer off 3 times already (unintentionally). Ugh! That is a bit aggravating. Overall, its a good laptop.

This is my third Asus laptop, but definitely the best one so far. Plenty fast for normal operations with sufficient storage for family photos and music.

Purchased for my daughter for college. A wonderful option for her and provides availability when in space constraints. She loves being able to use the keyboard or folding it under and using just the screen when space is an issue.

got this for my wife to replace her old sony laptop, it fast and light she use it almost everyday for work and personal stuff. it was a great price

This laptop exceeded my expectations. It is very light and versityle. Pages upload fast and there was no lag at all when watching movies. I recommend this laptop.
