This monitor was purchased to replace an ASUS HD monitor that I had to give up to my wife....lol. No complaints with this new 4K display. If I had to point out flaws I'd say the weight of the thing is something I wasn't quite prepared for....both the display and the stand are very heavy compared to my previous monitors of this size, and I've owned a few from ASUS as well as LG. The weight might have been an issue for me as I mount my display on an articulating arm but fortunately I was able to adjust the mount to handle the extra weight, but just barely. Even though I don't use the stand I have to say it's very impressive. It reeks quality but likely accounts for some of the premium price for this monitor. It attaches and detaches from the display very easily without tools, and is extremely versatile in its adjustments. I even tried to adapt it to my wife's HD display but no dice; the stand is made for this 4K display only. The only other thing I'd like to see on this monitor is a thinner bezel. My previous display was almost edge-to-edge whereas this one has a fairly wide bezel reminiscent of a 5-year old LG. Control placement is good, however. Speakers are so-so, but that was expected. Aesthetically, this monitor is a little clunky, but for functionality I'd highly recommend.

Pros
1. Great OSD, but that's to be said about all Asus Monitors
2. Colors are great if all you do is game
3, Great button location, all are located in the back of the monitor, Easy to control OSD options(But that is to be said about every ASUS gaming type monitor).
4. I like the design,
5. Too expensive for what it is should really be around $200.00 ish then it would be a great value purchase
6. Great for console gamers who can't go above 60Hz anyway
Cons
1. Bezels are too thick
2. Not really for video editing/production based tasks
3. Only 60Hz
4. 1080p looks kinda Blury on this even tho it is only 23.6 inch screen.
5. Too expensive for what it is should really be around $200.00 ish then it would be a great value purchase.
6. PC gamers I would skip this one, there are much better monitors that you could get that are also Freesync compatible for around or a little more it's price tag that offer greater value for your dollar.

Not for Xbox One S

I bought this monitor specifically to use with the xbox one s seeing as how they both support 4k. Everything looked very good on my regular xbox one. I was able to use 10 bit and 12 bit options on 1080p option. But when I got the new xbox one s, I was very disappointed to see it did not support most of the xbox one s features. I can't play games in 4k 10 bit. I cant watch video in 10 bit either. I already knew this monitor did not support hdr. But since it was 4k I decided to get it anyway. I bought it because it was a 4k monitor for $400. Had I known it wouldn't have been 100% compatible with the xbox one s, I probably would have passed. So, If you are looking for a 4k monitor to use with the xbox one s, This may be the wrong one.

Same format and resolution as my laptop and does great color and fast response. Speakers are ok for monitor speakers. Height and tilt are adjustable and easy to use. Very easy initial setup and start using. Got a Viewsonic at work and it does not tilt and cannot adjust the height and took much longer from open the box till ready to use.

Well rounded solution for a variety of uses

This monitor is a good solution for someone who enjoys different types of games, but also wants an excellent monitor for desktop applications, video, and photos. Some monitors have faster refresh rates or response times, but many of them use a TN panel instead of an IPS panel. TN panels are known for their ability to get a deeper black than an IPS (which have what is known as IPS glow, a faint backlight bleed through due to the physical design of the panel) and their ultra fast response times and high refresh rates. They have drawbacks in color accuracy and the vibrance of colors, as well as viewing angles. That makes a TN panel a better possible solution for very dedicated first-person shooter players who value every frame their video card can make. For many users, a monitor that functions well for several different applications makes more sense, and this is where an IPS panel such as this one shines.
This display does have some gamer-centric features, such as multiple input options, a crosshair overlay, FPS counters, and timers. It also supports AMD's freesync technology which aligns the screen refresh with the final rendered frame from the video card. I'm a little disappointed this display doesn't support Nvidia's G-sync technology as I am driving this monitor with a GTX 1080, but it's also not a deal breaker feature for me as I'm not fretting over getting every single frame out of my video card. If I were, I would have chosen a high refresh lower resolution display, such as one of the Full HD 144hz TN panels. It also has easy access to several presets that are defined for various game types.
The menu system is easy to use, with a small joystick type controller and several dedicated feature buttons around the back right side of the display. The buttons alternate in a triangular shape, which makes it easier to know where you are when sliding your finger down between them when controlling the display. The stand also very flexible, with integrated height, tilt, and rotation to fit a variety of people and situations. It also has integrated cable management for a clean look.
The picture quality on the display is great. Text in 4k at this PPI density is sharp and edges are perfectly rounded. Pictures and video really pop at 4K on an IPS panel. It's great for digital photography work as you can see so many more pixels off of a high megapixel DSLR, it's like looking through a window into your photograph. Another perk for photo/video editing is that it has a preset for sRGB, which is very accurate out of the box for working with photos that will be going to print.
In games with rich color pallets, such as RPGs, the IPS panel also shines with vibrant and dynamic colors that really immerse you in the game. I noticed no tracing or other signs of slow pixel responses on the display. The matte anti-glare finish on this display worked very well in my sometimes challenging den to minimize reflections.
Overall color uniformity is very good as expected from a modern IPS panel, and I only noticed a slight variance in brightness on the bottom corners when looking at the center of the display (if you move your head to be level with the corner the variance goes away), which is expected with an edge lit IPS panel, and is much better than others I have seen. Under normal usage conditions (not solid gray screens) it's not noticeable at all. All pixels on this display appear to be working, I wasn't able to see any dead or stuck on pixels or subpixels on the display, which is very good for a 4k high density panel.
Overall, this display is a great choice for a multi-role monitor that will serve for gaming, photos, videos, and normal desktop tasks such as web browsing and document editing. It does everything most users will need very well.

Best 4K Value!

This monitor is the best you can buy for under $400. Its picture is pristine and you CANNOT see one pixel! Its pixel density is like a flagship smartphone. There is sRGB 100% color accuracy out of the box so that will help many who are creating content for the web. The menu system is intuitive and the BEST of any monitor out there. A joystick to navigate through the menus make this one of a kind. It is not the largest, but still more than enough space to do things. It has HDMI Inputs (only one HDMI 2.0) so you can even use this as a "TV" and plug PS4 and other inputs into it. The DisplayPort is awesome which is of the 1.2 variety. It fully articulates to portrait mode and swivels left and right. The height adjustment is great and easy to use. The viewing angles are plenty good for anyone with almost 180 degree viewing. Not any light bleed to complain about. You can calibrate it to get closer to AdobeRGB within 96%. All 4K monitors are at 60Hz right now so can't really complain about that yet. Must buy for anyone who wants to get into 4K gaming and content creation. It has builtin speakers, but they sound worse than a smartphone from the 90's. My monitor is paired with an EVGA 1080Ti SC2 Gaming and there are no complaints WHATSOEVER about this monitor. The only issue I had initially was there was some tearing, but that was quickly fixed in the NVIDIA control panel by turning on VERTICAL SYNC. It is FreeSync ready if you are an AMD person, but otherwise that is all.
The Verdict... Must buy for anyone in the market right now who doesn't want to drop over $600 for a 4K monitor.
