Extremly easy router to set up. My girlfriend did it while I was training, so I know the setup practically does it for you. Has a lot of great features. Shows me who is on my network, who's hogging the network and if there is an unwanted guest. Also provides security and privacy. All in all, great router. Fast internet speeds too. Put it in the center of my house up high. Seems to reach everyone.

This router is awesome we live in a two story town home and our upstairs didn’t get WiFi with the Comcast box itself I bought this hoping that it would improve the range and I did just that and now our WiFi is actually faster too! So it exceeded my expectations and would recommend this to anyone looking to improve there WiFi speed and or range

After considerable research when looking to purchase a laptop several years ago and discovering the ASUS brand, I decided to try their networking products. I am now the proud owner of my own ASUS cable modem and ASUS router. Love, love, love this brand and this router! It almost performs perfectly. Occasionally, it freezes, but I think that can be taken care of with a little help from a visit from the Geek Squad. Placement in my home might be the problem presently. Then I can give this product 5 stars. I bought this one on 9/11/19, and would definitely recommend it to a friend.

Picked this up to set up an Asus MESH with an existing ASUS 3100. Great range and did the job, the mesh took a little work to get going, the directions included with the router are not clear on the easiest way to set it up. Recommend to consult the oracle or YouTube as there are plenty of resources available. Once established - it has been working great, and there has not been the drop-offs and disconnects that I had on that side of the house when using a simple extender. I went to Best Buy thinking "Net Gear" but then I saw the Asus. After comparing and contrasting the features of both companies, the Asus AC Dual-Band Wi-Fi Router was the clear winner! Whether you are a beginner or an advanced user, this model has all the features you could want. The distance coverage of the Wi-Fi is nothing short of amazing. It covers all three floors of my home and reaches even out to my garage. I used to use two APs and they couldn't provide the coverage of the Asus! What's more, I connected a 4T External HDD to the USB 3.0 port and I am using it as an FTP server. I could go on but I think you get the point. Thank you Asus for a truly quality product at an affordable price.

Bought a router on sale. Mistake. With help from a salesperson in understand tecnoligy of routers, my second choice was the Asus. Worth the few extra dollars. I am pleased with the range of wifi I get. I can even go outside.

I bought this router for my younger son and I to use with our X BOX ONE X's and Spectrum TV and internet. Works flawlessly with everything.

I bought two of these Routers to replace my two ASUS RT-N12 D1 routers (which worked fine) because I wanted higher speeds and 5G Wi-Fi. All wireless devices are now faster! I use these in AP Mode. These work great! Coverage is excellent and so is the speed. What I like most about ASUS is that they are easy to set up, very configurable and reliable. The Wi-Fi App on iPhone works well also. **One thing you will want to do as soon as you get this: Update the firmware!! The latest as of this writing is 3.0.0.4.382.18881. In my experience, the prior 2 versions of firmware displayed quite a few errors in the System Logs. After uploading to the new version - NO MORE ERRORS! The errors didn't seem to effect performance but it kind of bothered me. If you activate the "Roaming assistant" in the Wireless - Professional tab (which works very well) you will see what may appear to be errors. They are not, they are just Roaming events from one AP to the other. Again, I have multiple units that can & will roam back and forth to each other. Great product and highly recommend it.

Bought this to replace the wifi on my combo Motorola surfboard cable modem. The wifi on that was Ok when only one or two devices but was very slow when someone was streaming or gaming. Was unsure about buying a new wifi router if it would really be any better. I looked for AC specifically, and QOS. And found it in this Asus router. This more than met my expectations. It has plenty of wifi capacity I don't even need the QOS. I have 3 devices streaming, plus tablet, pc, and 3 smart phones. No pauses or buffering. I tried the QOS just to test and it is super easy to set up. This router is amazing, easy to set up. You don't have to know anything about routers. It's that simple. Very easy to use and well designed interface. Lots of features. Parental control, scheduling, diagnostics, and monitoring. Plus lots more. Strong signal throughout house and out in driveway too. Plenty of bandwidth. I was very impressed with it. Price is good too. I was looking at Tp-link and linksys and ended up choosing the Asus, it wasn't that much more and is well worth the little extra. I'm glad I didn't go for the 3100 I really didn't need to go that high the 1900 is plenty. Great router. Never have to restart like some cheaper brands. It just works. It looks good too. I would most definitely recommend this router you will not be disappointed.

Pros: Wide coverage, fast speeds, easy to set up, can handle a ton of devices all at the same time. Cons: None really My house is 90% wireless. I burned up my last wife router and was having all sorts of connections issues. It was terrible. That has been resolved with this router. With 5 of us running our cell phones, tablets, smart tv's, computers, laptops, streaming devices, wire free security cameras and Echo Dots, we needed some power. This handles all that for us, and never misses a beat. I also enjoy the switch that turns off the LED Lights, so you can sleep at night! Great feature.

Purchased this router at Best Buy on sale, great price. Set it up in about 10 minutes. Doubled my wireless internet speeds. Well worth the investment, easy set up, works fantastic!! Very pleased.. Thanks Best Buy!!!

I needed a new WiFi router because my all in one modem just wasn't enough. The second I hooked this up and setup my network I instantly got the speeds I was paying for. It runs a handful of my items, at once with no issues, and none of my items slow down. I am very picky with looks, and this item looks great. I find it to be very user friendly as well. I was easily able to setup 2 different hidden networks (1 @ 2.4ghz and the other at 5ghz). The app for your phone/tablet is amazing as well. I love using it and being able to get on my phone to change all of the settings at my hands rather than going online with my computer. I can't comment on range as I am in a smaller apartment, but I'm sure it's good. No issues with any of my devices connecting to it either. All in all its a great product and I'm glad I picked it up.

This is a great router. It offers GREAT mid-large home coverage on both the 2.4 and 5 GHz channels. Surprisingly its 5GHz coverage is very close to the 2.4 coverage area. Very easy to setup and can download an app from ASUS to manage router's settings. The app gives you more features and settings as available in the router's web interface. Has the ability to use the app when connected to the wifi network or can also enable it for remote access to configure router's settings from anywhere (which I do not recommend). This is an amazing router for the price that I paid ($80) and is very robust and it just works! MUST BUY THIS!!!

My old router had reached end-of-life after many years and needed to be replaced. I spent a solid week researching the current state of the art for value and quality, and at this time in the spring of 2020, this was the best choice, in my opinion. Installation was incredibly easy, and while I'm an engineering professional, even a novice could install this and configure it without too much trouble. From a performance perspective, it provides more than enough channels for a connected house. It's ready for you if you want to jump to a mesh network. While I haven't done it, it does support VPNs such as NordVPM. And it's fast. I'm staying at a consistent 230mbs downstream, which is outstanding for my service provider. More impressive is my wifi connection throughput doubled. It also has outstanding range and can provide great coverage for my home. I had originally anticipated going mesh, but speed is so good I'm not bothering at this stage. I gave it only 4 stars on value only because it is a more costly option that many lower end parts. It's one of the more pricey routers. However, it give excellent support for gaming, streaming, and video conferencing - even when they're all happening simultaneously. You won't be unhappy with this router.

This router is really fast and reliable network. It has a high range of network that covered my entire house.

This is a great router. Reasons: 1) Excellent range throughout the house and even in the back yard. (Note that every router, no matter the brand, will lose signal strength with distance. This one is excellent compared to my old asus and to a very recent netgear router I tried). 2) No signal drops, ever (in my experience). 3) Easy to set up with the web page to control settings.

This router has been on the market for several years now, sold under the model names of RT-AC68U, RT-AC1900P, RT-AC68P, RT-AC68R, etc. The core components and stellar performance remain the same, minor branding differences notwithstanding. This is the fourth router of this model schema that I've purchased -- not that any of the previous models have failed -- but rather to provide an outstanding AIMesh network in my own home and provide a solutions in other locations. I suspect that this model has remained in production for so long because it has been one of ASUS' best and most reliable models. It is substantially different in hardware than its lesser model the RT-AC66 family. While I suspect, as with most consumer-grade wireless solutions, that the range diminishes somewhat over time, I've measured this model at functional speeds at over 100 yards from its install location on its 2.4GHz band, and half that for the 5GHz band. I've seen nothing to pique my interest in other offerings for the price range, including more expensive ASUS offerings. While its dominance will surely fade as new security standards roll out, ASUS has still supported this model with consistent firmware upgrades, typically providing an update at a minimum interval of once a month. They also provide a mobile app that is passable for my purposes of monitoring and controlling my home mesh-network, setting up and killing guest networks, changing DNS servers, and killing and allowing individual connections with ease. Obviously, highly recommended.

I had a couple of other brands. They all failed and consistently lost signal. I was hesitant on purchasing anything ASUS for the longest time as the brands reputation was “cheap”. I am extremely pleased with this router and won’t buy any other brand again. Very easy setup and the app makes it even easier to control/change settings remotely. Excellent product!

I bought this router to replace a different make and model I had that was replaced twice under warranty, each unit lasted only a year before it quit. This router is faster, and there are no dead spots in my house or pool yard.
