    Router drops WIFI all the time and then died!

    I have had this router for less than a month and after about a week it lost its WIFI connection. I removed power and re-plugged it in and all was fine. This happened several times forcing me to do a complete reset back to stock which required re-configuring again to operate. All was good then for no reason it went dead during a very important web meeting. I purchased this higher price router for reliability.....I was so wrong! Now Bestbuy says they will not refund the cost. Sincerely, Very Unhappy Customer (Bestbuy I do not want your 25 points for doing this review)

    Completely unstable even on wired connections. When using the assigned priorities feature, the system does not provide a stable signal for browsing much less for streaming. I have a 400Ghz connection with the latest motorola docsis3. The modem by itself provides 415Ghz and the router gets them; however, for some reason does not perform to its specs. As far as coverage for the wifi, this one is also a hit and miss. I downloaded the latest updates, reset it; basically I've tried everything. My old linksys performs way better than this router. I would not recommend this product.

    Stay Clear of Asus Routers

    They do not have adequate customer support and their products are very flawed. I have a 5300, two Blue Caves and an AX 6000. The 5300 worked well for a few months and then started to regularly drop the 2.4 clients. One Blue Cave (to be set up as a node) didn't work from date one and have been trying to get Asus to fix it with no success to date. The second one works but is very weak. My latest purchase is the AX 6000 (to replace the 5300) didn't work upon set up, it keeps the original unsecured 2.4 and 5 open even after I sent up secure ones.

      1. Turn router power off.
      2. Press and hold the "WPS" button and turn the router on.
      3. Power light is on (keep holding the WPS button).
      4. Power light starts flashing for about 5 seconds.
      5. Keep holding until the power light stops flashing and the router will automatically reboot.

    The router is Good, but Not up to the Expectations. My Ethernet Port is NOT Working. I have been using it since JAN 2021.

    High hopes, but failed

    Powerful router with lots of features. Very customizable. Reasonable range but I expected more. After a month the 2.4 GHz radio started to drop randomly. Unreliable.

    I really, really wanted this router to work. Highly configurable and good reach, lots of options that I liked.... HOWEVER the unit I received kept dropping one of the 5GHz channels within 24hr of work (the other worked at the same time). I did a lot of troubleshooting and eventually traded for another unit. Since I really like the product I decided to trade it for exactly the same model. Less than 24 hrs later - connection dropped. VERY DISAPPOINTED!

    Loses connectivity ALL the time.

    I’m taking it back today and by the bad reviews I see my issue of losing connectivity isn’t isolated. The 2.4 and 5ghz both randomly drop connection and you’ll have to switch to the other band. If you reboot the router it comes back fine but you shouldn’t have to do that.

    Won't work

    I can't get into the administration menu. It arrived with a broken antenna. Severely disappointed. Tried the manual on disc and even installed the three utility applications, but doesn't help trouble shoot. only has a power light and no other lights. Had to hook my old Asus router back up. I guess their quality has gone down hill.

    2.4ghz band rendered inoperable

    I had to return two of these due to problems with the 2.4ghz band after a few updates. It was only letting a few devices connect on the band with obscene lag times and low speeds. Speeds were only 10-20% of what I was actually getting.

    Twas ok. I took it back for something better

    Was not what I expected and didn't perform as advertised. 2.4ghz range wouldn't even connect despite showing up. Multiple restart didn't fix. Took it back for a Netgear. Couldn't be Happier. This is not a gaming router like claimed

    Device crapped out three weeks after I set it up. Asus customer service is near nonexistent. Huge waste of money. Can’t figure out how to get a return/refund.

    Never got to use this router as it shorted shortly after powering on. Outside of 90 day rerun window and asus makes the warranty repair process extremely difficult
